Powerful film, great story and not only powerful performances by Denzel and Forest but impressive performances by their young co-stars. An instant classic.

Cloverfield (2008,  PG-13)
Cloverfield 3.5 Stars
However slightly disappointing, I actually thought this was a good film. It made you care more about the characters and Thank God you're not in their situation rather than what the monster looked like. Very interesting take on a monster genre, I enjoyed it. ..I'll tell yah another thing though, I'm not leaving Brooklyn to go to Manhattan for a while..and I'm now afraid of the Brooklyn Bridge.

*SPOILER ALERT*...

Jumper (2008,  PG-13)
Jumper 3.0 Stars
Cool movie..very entertaining. Nice setup for a sequel. It could have been better though...Acting wise and Writing wise...and music-wise. Jamie Bell's performance was the best in the film, Rachel Bilson just reminded me of her character from The O.C., Hayden was aiight, Samuel L. Jackson could have done alot better, and Diane Lane should have been given more camera time...perhaps there should have been a scene where Samuel L. Jackson's character confronts Diane Lane's character.

Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay (2008,  R)
Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay 3.0 Stars
Decent comedy..not as funny as the first but still entertaining. It didn't flow as well. Neil Patrick Harris is hilarious, he should have had a little more screentime. The writing could have been a little better and John Cho was a little annoying at times.

Iron Man (Ironman) (2008,  PG-13)
Iron Man (Ironman) 4.5 Stars
Great film, one of the best comic book adaptations I've ever seen. The cast, the writing and the acting were great ...I can't wait for the sequel.

P.S.- Everyone should stay after the credits because there's an extra scene.

The Incredible Hulk (2008,  PG-13)
The Incredible Hulk 4.0 Stars
Good film, great performances by Edward Norton and Tim Roth. Liv Tyler was sexy, she was a great choice for Betty Ross. William Hurt's performance as General Ross was good but a little cartoonish at times. The special effects were great, The Hulk looked alot more real in this one. It's almost as good as Iron Man, I mean really close.

The Happening (2008,  R)
The Happening 3.5 Stars
Good film, interesting plot. Some of the performances were very lacking. Mark Wahlberg's performance was a bit cheesy at times though, I think he tried too hard to distinguish this character from his usual aggressive characters. They could have done more with John Leguizamo's character but hey. Zooey Deschanel's character was annoying at times but I guess that's how her character was supposed to be. There is no surprise ending this time but it's still very entertaining.

Wanted (2008,  R)
Wanted 3.5 Stars
Very entertaining...not just a great action flick, it has some genuinely funny moments. Good performances[Especially by James McAvoy, Angelina Jolie, & Morgan Freeman.. Common should have gotten more lines but he was cool]. The action sequences and special effects are top-notch. Great cinematography.

However, the plot seemed kinda rushed. it would have been alot more interesting if it were more faithful it is to the graphic novels it was supposed to be based on. Eventhough I've never read an issue of the 'Wanted' comic book series but I think they were probably much more interesting than than this film.

The Dark Knight (2008,  PG-13)
The Dark Knight 4.5 Stars
Great film, almost more of a Crime-Drama/Psychological Thriller than a Comic Book hero movie. Great writing.
Performances:
Heath Ledger was a far better Joker than Jack Nicholson, I'm so serious. Ledger's Joker was haunting, twisted, psychotic, highly intelligent, witty as well as comedic, deadly...There are no words to adequately express how deep Ledger dived into this character. Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine were outstanding as usual.
Aaron Eckhart's portrayal of Gotham's tragic public hero Harvey Dent was amazing.
Gary Oldman was great as well, we got to see more sides of Gordon as he got even deeper into character this time around. Christian Bale's performance was intelligent, thoughtful, and precise as usual.
Maggie Gyllenhaal and Eric Roberts were good as well in their respective roles.
This is the best film I've gone to see in 2008 thus far.
I left the theater astonished, wanting more yet still content. This film took me to places I didn't expect.
I'll definitely see it a few more times, and I'm getting the dvd when it comes out.
This film is Christopher Nolan's masterpiece.
