Movies I've Seen - A work in progress

There's a reason this movie won 8 Oscars - it is simply that amazing. It is very well acted and backed by a phenomenal score. Although the history behind the scuffle between Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Salieri is somewhat made-up, it makes for a great story and entices the imagination. There are moments that give me goose bumps every time I watch. Bravo!

So I finally saw it! Overall this movie is very engaging - I enjoyed every minute of it. I love how honest the script reads, true to the young adult vocabulary. Although sometimes the acting is not the best (Jeff Anderson had many moments of "reading the script"), the movie made me smile. No wonder this film got so many people talking! I will likely see it again soon.

I watched this immediately after seeing Clerks for the first time, and they're hard to compare. I'm tempted to say I liked numero dos more, however, there were some really stupid parts that prevent me from jumping to that conclusion. There are moments in this movie however, that had me rolling on the floor laughing. A hint of Napoleon D. type humor surfaces, good or bad, you be the judge. I have a feeling this movie is a love-it-or-hate-it one.

Fight Club is far less shallow than the title might suggest; the tantalizing and intriguing life of Tyler Durden will grab your attention all the way through the film to its awe-shocking end. Edward Norton and Brad Pitt bring to the screen a chemistry reminiscent of the explosives they conjure up to create the mayhem that is Fight Club.

I am just now reading the book by Chuck Palahniuk, and all I can think of is how badly I want to watch this movie over and over again. Jeff Cronenweth and David Fincher make a great team. The latter being the director of Fight Club, The Game, and Se7en, all with cinematography credit to the former. If you liked this movie, watch these as well.

All I can say is WOW. Actually, there's much more to this movie than that. At the conclusion of this film, my mouth was on the floor. It stayed there for quite some time, absorbing the dust from the carpet as the credits rolled. The movie starts out slow, and appears to be similar to other CSI-style movies with a serial killer on the loose. Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman pair up as detectives to bring Kevin Spacey's character, John Doe, to justice. My favorite part of this movie, is Kevin Spacey. Spacey is satisfyingly disturbing, enough to make you cringe with every on-screen appearance...

Another great David Fincher film, Se7en will spin you in an unexpected direction which will have you saying "no way!" all the way back to the video store - that is, if you decide to return it.

First of all I'd like to note that the music in this film is moving, to say the least. The score backs up a great screenplay and actor, as Jim Carey grabs hold of something spectacular, for his acting is real, believable. He connects with the raw human emotion of his character, making this one of his best movies. The Truman Show is the kind of movie that finds you actually sitting through the credits, listening to the music and absorbing the film. The Truman Show will be in your head long after seeing it. Change this channel and watch that movie!
