The Bank Job (2008, R)
After a promising and riveting start the film delves into what it believes to be a smart witty heist film, unfortunately all they created was a dull, boring film with bland performances and nothing to keep interests alive. If they could have found a way to stretch the actual bank heist out past 45 minutes the film would've been great, there was some really intense and fun scenes in the first act of the film especially the scene involving the Ambulance trick by the police. Its a real shame the film let itself down. |

Drillbit Taylor (2008, PG-13)
When it comes to Owen Wilson, I usually expect a really dumb yet mildly amusing film. Drillbit Taylor is one of the films you'd honestly expect this from, yet somewhere along the lines it picks up a bit of heart and is a genuinely funny movie. With some decent performances, even the kids manage to get by with charm rather than becoming unbearable. The film is tightly paced and the jokes never drag on too far. |

Yes Man (2008, PG-13)
After a drawn-out introduction into the life of Carl Allen finally proceeds to the next logical step in the film, it begins to get funny. Its your typical Carrey project and its nice to have him back in top form. The film doesn't stray far from what it knows but it works well and Zooey Deschanel is an absolute charm. Most of the 'funniest' one liners are seen in the trailers but there is still pleanty of fun to be had. Far from being the funniest film Jim Carrey has done, and sharing many similarities to Liar, Liar. Yes Man is an enjoyable romp if you go with it. |

Mamma Mia! (2008, PG-13)
I'm not sure what everyone really saw in Mamma Mia, whilst it wasn't horrible, it far from being 'brilliant' which is a word I heard being floated around alot. Meryl Streep plays her role to a tee and the scenery is beautiful but there are far better musicals that have been released in recent years. Mamma Mia is not a bad film by any stretch and is pretty enjoyable but it wasn't what it was made out to be. I was far more entertained by Hairspray. |

Marley & Me (2008, PG)
The onscreen chemistry between Wilson and Aniston is on fire. The two bounce of each others comedic ability fooling you that the two are in fact acting. Marley is adorable, the script flows tightly and mounts to one of the most moving scenes I have seen in any film of recent memory - I dare you to get out of the cinema without a dry eye. |

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008, PG-13)
A fun run of the mill adventure flick. It doesn't add anything to an already albeit poor franchise but manages to take old ideas and make them fun again. I definately had more fun watching this than The Mummy Returns, its action packed got a few lame jokes and moves along quickly, I doesn't deserve to be written off like I initially suggested its an hour and a half of pure popcorn fun. |

Freedom Writers (2007, PG-13)
A fantastic, realistic and moving story about the struggle to accept race and how one dedicated teacher changed the lives of a few mis guided students. Potrayed brilliantly by Hilary Swank the story moves at a fast pace with some truely touching moments. Amongst all the death and anger the film tells a true story of human companionship and celebrates life. |
|
| 22 |
Side Effects (2005, R)
A good plotline with good intentions, let down by a poorly constructed scripts, random plot points thrown in throughout the film, horrible direction, barely existent editing and a lack sound mixing makes this film painful to watch. If ddone correctly this could have been not a bad film at all, but besides a good 'synopsis' the film fails in every aspect of filmmaking. |

Atonement (2007, R) |

| 24 |
Slumdog Millionaire (2008, R)
A completely moving, utterly brilliant celebration of life. Funny, Charming, Honest and poignant. An incredible feat by all involved. Danny Boyle sets in stone that he is one of the most original and enjoyable directors in the film industry. Deserves the acclaim 100% not sligghtly overrated, if anything it deserves more, the best film you will see all year. |

He's Just Not That Into You (2009, PG-13)
With a story playing out in similar fashion to Love Actually, this film sets the tone for some charming, funny, honest and real storytelling. Giniffer Goodwin adds an absolute glow as the lead in a film outweighed with Hollywood romcom heavyweights - its nice to see an up and comer shine amongst the big guns of this genre. Whilst not as brilliantly intertwined and scripted as its sister film Love Acutallly. He's just not that into you provides some solid laughs, bankable performances, a layer of sweetness which makes this a rememberable romcom and a perfect date movie. |
|
| 28 |
Zack and Miri Make a Porno (2008, R)
A typical juvenille Kevin Smith movie, but it is completely and utterly hilarious. Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks completely bounce of each other (that's what she said :P). Justin Long has a stellar appearance albeit slightly short, I was just waiting for more, his character with his porn experience could've been used more, but he was hilarious. A film everyone should try and make it to just for a good belly laugh. And the depsite the story the film has a nice, touching ending that makes you feel gooey inside, which is something you probably wouldn't expect from this type of film. |

| 29 |
Across the Universe (2007, PG-13)
The movie is far from terrible, I enjoyed numerous aspects from the music to the choregrophy but the characters were flat, there was no real development, and story relied purely on music, which as a musical it should, but there wasn't enough story development without using the music, which also didn't provide enough background, its visually beauitful and its got quite the charming, smaltzy ending which I loved. But overall its a slightly disappoiting venture when it could've been so much more, when you really think about how much inflluence The Beatles have had over pop culture. |

Revolutionary Road (2008, R)
A haunting tale of suburbian life, a bleak potrayl of a married couple that doesn't so much beg the question why settle down, but emphasises the key theme of not letting opportunities pass you by. |

Noise (2007, Unrated)
A quirky, odd tale of a mans struggle against a city of inconvenience noise. The film works so well because its an issue no one has any control over, but has experienced some form of fustration with unnecessary alarms. Tim Robbins plays the deranged citizen who just snaps perfectly, as we watch his life sprial out of control due to a little noise. Something we all think yet never act upon, this film is funny and speaks the truth that everyone else turns a blind eye too. |

Watchmen (2009, R)
I can definitely see why this book has a cult following, and I can definitely see and understand when people say it was incredibly loyal to the source material, but IMO that was the films major problems. Unfortunately films don't have the luxury of taking as much time as a book to develop the story and the characters, a film should have a faster, more rounded approach to developing this, and by the film closely following the source material there were long sections of the film that felt dragged on, its all well and good to have that extra bit of development in a novel but when it drags down the pace of a film it needs to be cut, especially considering it doesn't really add all that much extra to the films storylines. |

Millions (2005, PG) |
|
| 40 |
Clerks (1994, R)
A rude, crude and hilarious account of a seemingly boring everyday routine job. Obviously one of Kevin Smiths first films the characters/actors have come along way in performance stakes since 1994, there are certain sections where the performances fall flat and the dialogue between characters seems awkward and forced. A good effort which paves the way for some newer Kevin Smith films. |
|
| 41 |
Knowing (2009, PG-13)
A terrible, really terrible movie. Nicolas Cage doesn't seem to care about the movies he makes anymore; this film is B-Grade in every aspect. The effects are laughable the plot development is lagging from an idea which could've been executed properly and could have created a suspensful film, but it was wasted in mainstream attempts to blow sh!t up. The story was already over the top as is, but thats not where its faults lay, pleanty of films have come before this that have made good from ridiculous plot devices. |
|
| 42 |
Ghost World (2001, R)
A very quirky, unusual film, with the same type of lead character - played perfectly by Thora Birch and the alternative unsure played by Scarlett Johansson - the acting is not where this film goes wrong, there isn't much going for it, its a simple story that tells it well but it feel like a whole lot of nothing happens in the film, it moves along slower than a snail, and I'm not really sure what it was meant to be? Off-Beat comedy? Drama? Dramedy? I did not laugh once, I had a slight chuckle at about 2 scenes. If offbeat quirkiness is what you're after this one should satisfy your cravings mildly, there are far better films that do it better though. |
|
| 43 |
17 Again (2009, PG-13)
17 Again is a completely cliches film, that follows in the footsteps of numerous films that have stepped down this path before including Big and 13 going on 30 plus many more. And whilst there is nothing original in its story the film is enjoyable and quite funny. Mike's best Friend Ned often steals the scene and is a riot everytime he is in scene. Zac Effron brings his good looks to the film and the entertainer in him, but his performance isn't any thing standout, he needs to quickly choose some new roles before he is completely sterotyped. The film is also completely lacking a conclusion, it leaves open too many unresolved stories, which had another 15 minutes been spent everything could've been wrapped up. |
|
| 44 |
Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003, PG-13)
An action packed, epic adventure film that is energetic from start to finish. A splendid looking feature with captivating performances and breath-taking scenery and special effects. For a period piece action film, a genre normally off my limits this film was definately worth the watch, and didn't deserve to sit in my collection for 4 years before finally watching it. |
|
| 45 |
21 (2008, PG-13)
A smart, fast-paced, witty and edge of your seat drama thriller. Solid performances, slick editing and capable direction. I had read alot of reviews that stated it was generic and had been done before. And whilst it has been done with films like Oceans 11 and Confidence, I found this a much more entertaining and riveting thrill ride than the two mentioned above. A suprise little package hides amongst this film, fantastic. |

Semi-Pro (2008, R) |
|
| 47 |
Along Came Polly (2004, PG-13) |
|
| 48 |
Monsters vs. Aliens (2009, PG)
The 3D effects are done incredibly well, there are laughs a pleanty in the opening 45 minutes and lots of laughs at the conclusion of the film, yet the middle of the movie falls flat, it plods along happily but never really raises the bar, it actually falls below what it set up in the first half. If you can make sure you see it in 3D, the effects are brilliant and it isn't used as a gimmick. |

| 49 |
Murder by Numbers (2002, R) |
|
| 50 |
One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975, R)
An honest and sometimes disturbing potrayl of mental illness which incorporates almost every element known to cinematic releases, a well rounded story with highs and lows and a phenomonal performance by Jack Nicholson who firms himself down as one of the greatest actors of all time, excellent potrayls from all actors involved and handled with superb direction. |

Step Brothers (2008, R)
Will Ferrel films these days all tred the same water, and without insulting his fans, they are getting simpiler and stupider and not in a funny way. |
|
| 55 |
X-Men Origins - Wolverine (2009, PG-13)
A very loose 3 star rating, it actually deserves less but the film manages to stay quite enjoyable, for all its clanky dialouge, immature feeling and cheap looking cinematography the film never becomes a bore and is a very easy, 100 minute watch. Its a pure popcorn film, it does not equal any of the XMen films, not even the 3rd film, and whilst they would be around equal star ratings, I can't justify rating Wolverine any lower as I was entertained, not the best popcorn film, but it gets by. |
|
| 56 |
The Savages (2007, R)
A mature, developed film of an older sibilings having to deal with their fathers mental illness after his girlfriend passes away and leaves him stranded. The story is developed and told from the perspective of the brother and sister who have not had much contact with their incompetent father who as its hinted, abused his children as they grew up; the story takes the angle of picking up the pieces and doing what is necessary to help out each other and the family when you have no choice in the matter. Very solid performances and a solid script make this an enjoyable feature. |

High School Musical 3: Senior Year (2008, G) |

Star Trek (2009, PG-13)
As someone who doesn't have a clue about the Star Trek Universe and that previously hasn't been interested in anything to do with StarTrek; Paramount have done a fabulous job in promoting this to the untapped audience. The film helmed by who is becoming Hollywoods golden boy J.J. Abrahms the film which is considered a re-boot is an action packed, fantasy driven, excitment coaster. It never lets up and develops characters well for someone who doesn't know already know them. Special Effects are seriously extraordinary; everything just looks incredible; and if it weren't for some dodgy shaky cam which Mr Abrahms is obviously a fan of the film would've been even better. But as it stands its a very, very fun and enjoyable film, and a great kick start to the summer movie season considering what a let down Wolverine was.... |

Halloween (2007, R)
The opening hour of Rob Zombie's Halloween is fantastic; a haunting and chilling potrayl giving background and depth to one of Hollywoods most iconic horror characters. After a fun and entertaining hour, the film for its second act delves in to sub-par horror cliches and is like every other slasher film you've ever seen. There is a big shift of focus from the first half to the second and its a big disappointment, I was hooked and loving every second of the first hour; then it all goes downhill, I even lost interest in some parts. The film scores well for the first hour which is very nicely developed, but I most definately do not have any expectations for the upcoming sequel. |

Terminator Salvation (2009, PG-13)
Oh where to start I'm a big Terminator geek. |

| 62 |
I Love You, Man (2009, R)
Paul Rudd and Jason Segel are becoming two of the biggest names in Hollywood comedy right now. Both coming of the back of two hilarious and successful comedies this film takes viewers for a ride and awkward ride which at times Rudd makes you cringe with his pathetic phrases and complete social awkwardness; Segel on the other hand plays the cool, hip and relaxed guy that everyone wants to be friends with perfectly, he is the friend that you'd love to have, loyal, fun and willing to help you out whenever you need it. I Love you man has great funny performances from everyone involved Jon Favrou is utterly hilarious as he usually is in top form, plays that guy we've all had to dealt with the role of your girlfriends best friends partner, try all you want they're just a d!ck. I Love You man provides some classic moments which will be remembered long after you've finished seeing the film and will have you laughing long after the scene is over. Top Stuff. |

My Best Friend's Girl (2008, R)
How this film is rated higher than flickster users that I Love you Man is beyond me, after having watched I love you man in cinema and feeling in a laughing kind of mood I rented My Best Friends Girl which unfortuantely doesn't compare, it had a few moments of shock and laughs but it is essentially another Dane Cook vehicle and he is not a good actor, sure he may look good but he has nothing on the comedic skills of well almost anyone in Hollywood. Kate Hudson is bland and mediocre, if she's going to act I'd much rather her stay in the romcoms the girls seem to love she has a place there and she does it well. This film just doesn't suit her. And its not very funny at all. I had heard so many good things about this film and that it was utterly hilarious but I failed to be so entertained. It is a disappointment, it passes the time but it is nothing special, very forgettable and just crude, which is not my sense of comedy. |

Milk (2008, R)
An insipring and interesting story of a mans determination to bring about right in the lives of the gay community. Milk though suffers from pacing; the film doesn't kick into gear until the 1 hour mark; which then seems to go by seemingly quickly. Penn is not the star performer in this vehicle that credit goes to Josh Brolin and James Franco. |
|
| 68 |
Role Models (2008, R)
Role Models starts out promising with the ever likable Paul Rudd. But fails when it takes a sub plot of the film and turns it into the big conclusion, it feels long and drawn out and the film really isn't all that funny, its very watchable, but in comparison with recent comedies this doesn't hit the spot. |
|
| 69 |
The Wrestler (2008, R)
Definatley a movie worthy of seeing and its captivating and never boring, but really does it deserve the amount of praise it has gotten? No. Its entertaining it has heart but essentially I don't think it is perfect as some have made this film out to be. Darren Aronosky no doubt is a fantastic director - to take a topic like in this film and turn it into such a dramatic and entertaining film. |
|
| 70 |
Things We Lost in the Fire (2007, R) |
|
| 71 |
Bride Wars (2009, PG)
Bride Wars wasn't as horrible as I initially expected it to be horrible. And whilst horribly predicatable there were moments when the film was trying to think outside the box, unfortunately come the ending everything is perfect and normal again. Kate Hudsons character was very unlikeable and Anne Hathaway was the saving grace. Definately not a film I would revist but it isn't a boring or painful film to watch. |
|
| 72 |
Transformers (2007, PG-13)
To start things rolling, Michael Bay = Horrible Filmmaker but he sure knows how to blow **** up, and he creates spectacular action set pieces...he just needs to really work on how he deals with Character development and emotional sequences (just because huge musical scores are in place, doesn't mean that constitutes as emotions). |
|
| 73 |
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009, PG-13)
Oh this film was long...so very, very long and so very drawn out. |
|
| 74 |
Brüno (Bruno) (2009, R)
Bruno is typical Cohen fare; it does get laughs, but essentially its a one joke film - and there's only so many gay jokes you can take untill it starts to get old. But its good for a belly laugh, not much else to say really. Its not as entertaining as Borat I think, and the 80 minutes tends to feel dragged just a little. |
|
| 75 |
Very Bad Things (1998, R)
Highly twisted and a little disturbing, this is defiantely one of the darkest comedies I have personally come across; its violent and perfectly acted by all; and its a entertaining ride watching all the mains deal with the situation as it continues to spiral out of control....in their head. Perfectly examples what goes through our brains when we start to panic. |
|
| 76 |
Seven Pounds (2008, PG-13)
A fanatastic premise that hooks in from start to end and is a real payoff - a slightly convoluted story to begin with which makes the opening of the film quite a confusing watch but in time the pieces all start falling together and the pay off is well worth it, fantastic portaryls from Will Smith and especially Rosario Dawson, Seven Pounds is an emotionally charged drama and well worth the watch. |
|
| 77 |
My Sister's Keeper (2009, PG-13)
A truely emotional film that reduces the audience to a wet box of kleenex, stand out performances from Abigail Breslin and the sick daughter, come to think about it all the kids in the film do an incredible job in their portrayls the adult actors are even intriguing in their roles. A powerful theme that I felt wasn't fully addressed would've made this film so much more and would've taken it to a completely new level of ethics, but the team played it safe and opted to go the safe way, whilst that safe way was an emotional rollercoaster I would've appreciated if there were more focus on the ethics of the whole medical emancipation storyline more. |
|
| 78 |
Drag Me to Hell (2009, PG-13)
I Saw this yesterday and I can say it was so bloody enjoyable and alot of fun, despite the cringeworthy script and the moments of hilarious stupidity the film effectively managed to be a jump out of your chair thrill ride; I have not been scared in a movie for some time and I found this film intense and terrifying; and upon checking its details found it was only PG-13 in the US..... WTF?!?! Seriously WTF?!?!!? How did the MPAA classify this PG-13 it is soeasily an R rated film - just because it didn't have alot of gore or swearing should equal a lesser classification becuase the film is intense; it has some truely terrifying scenes for a PG-13 film. But a fun ride all the same. |
|
| 79 |
G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra (2009, PG-13)
This film was utterly terrible, I can't see how someone can get so much enjoyment out of a film like this unless they were 10 years old. Yes films are about entertainment but this was poorly constructed, cheap tacky action, horrible acting it didn't even fit the bill as big dumb fun, it was just dumb. |
|

District 9 (2009, R)
I saw it and I loved it! It was so good. Original, thrilling and fun! |

Chaos (2005, R) |
|
| 82 |
Alien (1979, R) |
|
| 83 |
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009, PG)
I haven't enjoyed a Harry Potter film like this for so long. Dark, mature and excellently executed. A big step up in direction from David Yates; Order of The Phoenix was a bit of a mess and the story was all over the place; whilst this is in similar vein to setting up the final chapter it works well as a film alone and can be enjoyed without having to watch the series to date. The cast are magnificant the effects are brilliant and the storyline is effectively translated. A superb effort and possibly the best potter film to date. Bring on The Death Hollows. |
|
| 84 |
Aliens (1986, R)
Classic action, classic Cameron; An effective edge of your seat action film which Cameron delivers with such ease it has his trademarks all over the film which are evident in so many others. Not as effectively scary as the first film which worked more as a horror film; this ups the ante but focuses alot more on the sci-fi action than the slow, creepy atmospheric feeling of the first. |
|
| 85 |
Rachel Getting Married (2008, R)
Not a bad movie in any way, but the whole film feels like a non-event; it plods along slowly unraveling the family drama, but doesn't really do anything to hook us in; it feels like you're a fly on the wall watching the awkwardness of the family interractions. The film acts as a showcase for Hathaway who is far and away the best thing about this film and deserves the nods she has received for her portrayl of Kym, but the film itself falls flat and there isn't much that makes me want to recommend watching it; it passes time; but its slow and scenes tend to last forever. A disappointment. |
|
| 86 |
Twilight (2008, PG-13) |
|
| 87 |
Up (2009, PG)
Pixar continues its streak of awesomeness. Up is consistently funny to both kids and adults, exciting, action packed and emotionally touching. The visuals looks nothing short of stunning, the character of Carl Fredricksen is completely fleshed out and well rounded and the team manage to write his story background in all of 10 minutes a credit to the writers of pixar films; most other filmmakers struggle to make their character so well rounded in 90 minutes yet pixar manage to do it in 10. |
|
| 88 |
In Bruges (2008, R) |
|
| 89 |
Pirate Radio (The Boat That Rocked) (2009, R)
A hilarious and extremely fun, enjoyable trip. Top notch casting; story with heart, wit and charm and a brilliant soundtrack to top of a wonderful film. The film does fall victim to a mediocre middle part and some scenes tend to drag a little in length but you'll still be entertained. Not the classic british comedy but one that will leave you with a smile on your face. |
|
| 90 |
Taken (2009, PG-13)
Whilst on the surface it is nothing new; the dialouge is for the main part cheesy; there is something this action romp has that keeps you thrilled and entertained; its not an oscar winning film but nor is it trying to be. Its an easy way to kill time; it hold your attention from the get go and the action is heavy whilst not being over the top. |
|
| 91 |
Alien 3 (1992, R)
What a fall from grace this film is; it spends way to long setting up the premise of the story, which by the way is quite a bore. The action falls flat and basically only involves people running around an old prison; The Alien is neither daunting or scary in this film; how it managed to ignore what made the first two so great I don't know. Now I have the long journey ahead because I still have Rescurrection to watch; and we all know that is worse than this one. |
|
| 92 |
(500) Days of Summer (2009, PG-13)
A very funny, unique and original take on relationships; it's refreshing to see a film focus on the flaws and that not all relationships take a happy ending; the film disects itself into tiny pieces with snippets of the highs and lows from the 500 days since the start of the relationship. Whilst the editing may seem like an odd choice with the film not playing out in chronological order it makes perfect sense on screen and really points out how you view a relationship once it's over. |
|
| 93 |
The Secret Life of Bees (2008, PG-13) |
|
| 94 |
Whip It (2009, PG-13)
A funny, warm and inviting movie about growing up and finding yourself. Whip It is fantastic from the casting to the soundtrack, Ellen Page is perfect yet again but one must be worried about her being typecast in this sort of role; but she plays it so effortlessly and with cool sophistication. A rocking movie that will surely leave a smile on your face. |
|
| 95 |
Alien Resurrection (1997, R)
After hearing nothing but negativity regarding Alien Resurrection I sat down with a negative attitude and while clearly the movie is not on a scale anywhre near the first two films, In my opinion it explored something more interesting than Number 3 which kinda just sat around doing nothing for 100 minutes. If you can let your mind run free and get over some of the insanely ridiculous plot points I'm sure you'll be able to have fun with this film for what it is; sure the franchise diminished but at least you can still have some B Grade sci-i/action/horror fun. |
|
| 96 |
Gran Torino (2009, R)
What a fantastic film! From start to end Clint Eastwood is a facscinating character to watch; his personal turmoils unfold as he comes to realise just what the world has become; a story right from the heart which deals heavily with racism and old fashioned values; brilliant! If anything only the first half hour is a little slow pace but by the end you really appreciate the character development. |
|

Couples Retreat (2009, PG-13)
With such a great cast behind it, its a shame this couldn't get off the ground; 3 of my favourite comedic actors; Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman and Jon Favreau are such a let down and don't nearly provide the comedy I was expecting, I didn't even go into the film listening to what the critics had said; I thought "critics just don't enjoy these types of films" so I went anyway, and was disappointed. Whilst the film isn't horrible and is quite watchable, as a comedy starring some of the funniest working in the business at the moment the laughs were few and far between with parts where I dosed off into boredom at times staring at the lights on the floor of the cinema stairwell. Not "shocking" but too much room for improvement to be good. |

Year of the Dog (2007, PG-13)
A quirky and charming film for the first 30 minutes in which we see Peggy only feeling loved by her Dog pencil, but when pencil dies it sends her loopy and I kinda just lost where the story was going. Would've been better had it stuck to your usual rom com and Peggy finding love after Pencil; oh and its really slow considering it clocks in just under 90 minutes you think it would be an easy watch but it feels like it goes for 2 hours. |

Paranormal Activity (2009, R)
Uh its always a bad thing when you listen to the hype. Scariest Movie of all time? No, not even close I've seen scarier movies this year (Drag Me To Hell) whilst Paranorml Activity isn't a bad film it treads water for 85 minuntes doing really well nothing; I wasn't scared and I wanted to be terrified from what I had heard the film was all about. But on a budget of only $15,000 kudos goes to the crew behind Paranormal Activity in being able to create a tense atmosphere with some genuinely creepy and eerie moments without relying on special effects. |

Zombieland (2009, R)
Clocking in at a mere 81 minutes; this film moves fast; and is a real fun romp; what Zombie movie isn't right? With a perfect balance of horror shitick and genuine comedy Zombieland proves to be what slapstick zombie films like Shaun of The Dead is not. Stand out performance by Woody Harrelson and a nothing short of brilliant cameo by Bill Murray. I would highly HIGHLY recommend Zombieland to anyone looking for a fun film; zombie fan or not. |

The Proposal (2009, PG-13)
A rather cliche romantic comedy the bares enough charm between the two leads to make this one enjoyable enough to watch; if only it stuck to what it knew in the first half of the film for the ending all would be better. Sit down to watch this expecting the cliches and you won't have a problem with this film. |

2012 (2009, PG-13)
The years greatest comedy; unintentionally or not. If there is one thing Roland Emmerich knows how to do; its how to destroy the world and 2012 is a culmination of all his films; its the mother ship he's obviously been dying to make. With dialouge chocked full of cheese, action scenes which are pure spectacle and physics that is unbelievable that it become laughable. Whilst 2012 sticks to delivering its story and dialouge with a straight face the audience; or those that know better are sitting back laughing. |

The Final Destination (2009, R)
In the same vein as the previous 3 films Final Destination 4 has inventive deaths and adds the "in thing" right now by incorporating 3-D which looks pretty cool; I haven't seen to many live action 3-D films but this one looks decent. Like a B-grade horror movie the acting is not anything special and like the others Death always wins; but its fun watching its victims try. |

Moon (2009, R)
A rather subdued and slow paced film; held together perfectly by Sam Rockwell; and at only 90 mins the film hold your attention; creating a perfect atmosphere the fact this film was made on only $5 million is a major credit to all involved; at times the film seems overly convoluted; but is actually quite an easy film to follow when you strip it down to the basics. |

The Fountain (2006, PG-13)
The Fountain is an extremely beautiful looking film; the visual representation is astounding; but the storyline is quite a muddled up adventure; after becoming lost by the end of the film I decided to go and read up on the net, reading a quote from the director it stated that the film really didn't have a story structure; so I took from that what I wanted and developed the story as best I could in my mind :P The main plot revolves around present day America where Tommy is trying to find a cure for his dying wife who is suffering with cancer. |

Samson and Delilah (2009, Unrated)
A harrowing and disturbingly realistic portrayl of the indigenous communities in remote communities. Samson and Delilah is a love story expressed with a lack of dialouge; for the most part this works well; but there are a few scenes that you feel the need for something to be said yet it just sits there stagnant. Especially some of the earlier scenes with Samson trying to "win over" Delilah the awkward interaction between the two is quite odd to watch when nothing is being said. |
