Movies I've Seen-1985

Creepy little film noir with the Coens in top form already(this is their debut).There are a few moments of the black comedy they're known for but this is easily their darkest film,with some grisly,disturbing moments and strange,ironic use of music.A classic debut and one of the best films of the 80's.

Wow,this has got to be one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.Bronson's back taking on a gang in a hellish ghetto neighborhood that makes Beirut look like a prime vacation spot.Bronson has a love interest who's easily 30 - 40 years younger than he is,is way too hot to be interested in this leathery old coot and she throws herself at him shamelessly and Bronson doesn't seem too interested!Bronson gets his hands on a huge pistol that would put Dirty Harry to shame and a hugeass machine gun that requires a second person just to carry the ammo,goes Rambo at the end and must take out about 50 guys in the last 20 minutes,at least.And of course since it's Death Wish,there's a rape scene in there just to make sure you didn't notice the gang is really evil and needs to be exterminated,Bronson style.This has gotta be in the So Bad,It's Good hall of fame.Absolutely hilarious.Favorite Bronson line:"Chicken's good...I like chicken".Awesome.

Entertaining horror comedy about a high school kid who has a vampire move in next door.The kid enlists the help of a horror movie actor and local tv host to kill the monster.The film has some interesting performances,like Stephen Geoffreys as Evil Ed,a truly strange and kind of creepy character,and Amanda Bearse from Married With Children turns up as the hero's girlfriend,who the vampire sets his sights on.I've always had a hard time accepting her in this,I keep expecting Al Bundy to walk on and insult her.Chris Sarandon is quite good as the vampire,he seems to be having a great time with the role.There are some nifty effects and prosthetics,and I loved how the vampire's house always looks scary with fog coming off it at all times in the middle of suburbia.

Entertaining zombie comedy,pretty twisted in parts.I was never as big on this as some of the other horror comedies but it's still a solid little movie.
