I don't like this one quite as much as the first one but it's close.It's more horror oriented and the mutant vampires are very cool.Snipes kicks much ass once again and Kris Kristofferson does his amusing crusty old bastard schitck again.Blade's new partner is an annoying dirtbag,I think we're supposed to think he's cool but he sucks.There's some bad CGI in a couple of parts but a hell of a lot of action scenes and fights.And Snipes is really badass. |

Now THIS is more like it.With all the setup of Fellowship out of the way,the story kicks into high gear with director Peter Jackson masterfully weaving several plot threads together.The film moves at a good clip despite the 3 hours plus running time.There's less gay overtones with the hobbits (although it's still there)and the Battle of Helm's Deep is pretty kickass.The visual effects look a little better in this as well,as we are fully introduced to Gollum,and he's an amazing creation,second only to the 2005 King Kong as the best CGI character to date.Easily one of the best fantasy films of the last twenty years. |
