Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End 3.5 Stars
This is a must see for anyone who has seen the first two Pirates of the Caribbean. Its a great conclusion to a great trilogy. The movie itself is about what you expect, unfortunately it's not more than you would expect, but it won't leave you disappointed.

Alpha Dog (2007,  R)
Alpha Dog 3.0 Stars
When thing go wrong they get worse when handled by a bunch of teenage idiots is the moral of this story. If it weren't for the fact that this was real it would be very hard to give this movie this high of a grade. Its shockingly real, but unfortunately filled in with a hip-hop overtone which dulls down the seriousness of the situation, as does Justin Timberlakes acting (it wasn't THAT bad, but he's still not an actor). I get the feeling the movie could have been better, but the message is unclear and left at 'wow what a bunch of dumbasses.' The movie Mean Creek is definitely a step up from this one and I recommend it if you enjoyed this.

Transformers (2007,  PG-13)
Transformers 2.5 Stars
Who cares about these humans. They should be the collateral damage not main characters and if they were main characters at least make them some what kick-ass and not some teenage geek who ends up getting the hot girl. Other then that the robots are cool and have lots of weapons and fight a lot. The animators did a great job with them and should be proud. It would be really cool if they had robots on the screen more often. More Optimus Prime vs Megatron! I went to watch the Transformers and they should have made it more about them since you know, the movie is called transformers.
