Introspective. For someone who is more into samurai films than anyone I know, this one is the best of them. Brilliant. i was mezmorized by the precise calculation and execution of every scene. zwick isnt counted among the greats, but this is a stunning directing job. This movie made me like Tom Cruise.

absolutely incredible. this is only the second movie af all time to make me cry, and i cried twice. absolutely one of the sadest things i have ever seen. this film won best picture at the japanese academy awards in 2003 and absolutely deserves it. the story was marvelous and the acting was incredible. there were 2 major things in this movie that infuriated me, those 2 things made me so angry that i wanted nothing more than to HATE this movie. but i cant hate it. its nearly perfect. the main character does have a major contradiction within his character which seems like a possible flaw in the script, but other than this point this film is brilliant. the 2 things that made me want to hate this movie werent flaws or script issues, they were just things in the story that didnt go my way. this film does not have your typical happy ending. but like i said, despite my tears and sadness for the characters at the end, i cant find anything about this film thats not beautiful. i havent stopped thinking about it since i watched it, one of my favorites of all time.

Editing could have been better, but ultimately this is my favorite western of all time. the anticipation built up during a slow but eventful film sets the perfect scene for one of the best sequences in film history at the end of the film. accurate and thoughtful, this is a must see film.

not as good as the first, but tomb raider is just sweet. there is something about this character and the way that jolie plays her that i cant get enough of. a good follow up to a well made action movie.

this is a great film with an original and fun plot. shia was great in this early role for him and the story moved well. a clean movie that kids can enjoy but adults will like more.

i enjoyed this movie very much. it took alot of flack, but i didnt see why. it was entertaining and creative, the characters were about as engaging as one would expect from an animated film. fun to watch.

this was a really good film with star power and solid performances until the final 15 minutes where the film completely fell apart. until the end, the story was intriguing and innovative and i was really curious as to how the film would end. when the film wound down to its final scenes there was drama over simple issues made to be bigger than they should have been and scenes filled with symbolism that fell flat. overall it was a good movie with a dissapointing conclusion.

pretty good flick. i dont like tarantino at all, so i was pleasantly suprised that i liked this film. it was a great start to the story, and the scene where uma fights lucy liu was great. however, some of the scenes were silly and predictable and a little too cartoonish when it came to the gore. the cinematography was top notch, but uma's character in this film was more lucky than good. i also have a hard time in a film when there is noone to root for, and i wanted uma to die just as much as everyone else.

every time i see this film i like it a bit more but this movie isnt great. it suffers from terrible character development and a lackluster use of the characters gifts but the concept is strong and the movie is entertaining.

i have to say, while this certainly wasnt a great movie by any means, it was better than many led me to believe. it was horrible in some ways, but totally watchable. kelly preston was awsome as usual, and by the end i didnt feel like i totally wasted my time. not good, but could have been worse.
