The Passion of the Christ (2004, R)
A very very great movie from Mel Gibson... He makes a very detailed story about the death of Jesus... Truthfully, I barely can't stand watching this movie because it is very inhuman... It looks like Mel Gibson wants to show us how cruel they persecute Jesus... Jim Caviezel portrays great as Jesus... He really really can stand with the persecution scene that Jesus ever have a long long time ago... And two thumbs up for the make up... They really have a very good and hard job for the make up of Jesus after being persecuted.. I really really can't say anything for this movie... It's just too sadistic, but great.. I even pretty sick with the persecution scene... But it is a really really great and must watched movie... Better watched it in the Good Friday... It's more than heartbreaking... It's just great and very excellence portrait about the death of Jesus.... |

The Notebook (2004, PG-13)
Well... it's a high quality story from Nicholas Sparks... Even I didn't like his other write, A Walk To Remember, but for this movie it's differently... It's a vrey romantic movie with a great performance from the actor/tress.. Very well screenplay.... and the most is love story between Noah and Allie... It was just great... One of the most romantic movie I've ever seen!!!! |

Spider-Man 2 (2004, PG-13) |
|
| 9 |
Van Helsing (2004, PG-13)
The story of a great vampire killer, Van Helsing is an entertaining and pump-your-adrenaline movie... Choosing Hugh Jackman for this role is a perfect choice.. And having Kate Beckinsale as the main actress was pretty good too.. She's is the real vampire killer lady... The story was pretty good, yet the effects was brilliant.. A must watched movie! |

Two Guys (Tu Gaijeu) (2004, Unrated)
I never thought that this movie would be so much fun like this... A great combination between action and comedy! Joong-Hoon Park and Tae-hyun Cha gave great performance as a brothers... They're great... And Eun-jeong Han very lovely in this movie, yet she'll get famous because of Kang Hae Won role in TV's Full House... Not original but lovely ones.. I'm pretty sure they had a lot laugh while making this movie, because I had! |

The Bourne Supremacy (2004, PG-13)
I'm glad that Paul Greengrass doing this second movie, which is for me more better than what Doug Liman do in the first movie... The car chasing was amazing, it just pump up your adrenaline while watching it.. Yet the action scenes makes me more amazed... The whole movie was flowing so fast and a little hard to follow if I just missed for a second, but that was great because it makes you don't want to leave your seat even just a second away... Matt Damon playing great, because this is a sequel so he is more easier to explore the character he played, not like in the first movie while he need to build up where would this character go... A brilliant movie to watch, really nice and brilliant... |

Hellboy (2004, PG-13)
A great animation from Guillermo del Toro.... He did a great job to this movie... Even this is not like a superhero movie, but he makes Hellboy as a great hero to everybody... The effects wasn't bad but didn't much stunning... The story was pretty good... Wonder what they're gonna make in the sequel of this movie... |

Naesarang ssagaji (100 Days with Mr. Arrogant)(Slave Love) (2004, Unrated)
I really wanted to see this movie since a long time, and after that wish was come true, I didn't feel sorry for spend my time watching this movie... The title 100 Days With Mr. Arrogant didn't fit the movie a lot, maybe the girl has to spend 100 days with the man, but not in the way I thought... The story can be classified as a drama movie with a little spice of comedy and romance of course... The performance given by Ha Ji-Won was great, she's really talented for someone on her age... The story itself maybe just ordinary but it makes me laugh out loud in some scenes, and a little sad while knowing Ha-yeong is sad... Overall, it's fun and a memorable movie I think... |

Nae meorisokui jiwoogae (A Moment to Remember) (2004, Unrated)
This is a pretty good Korean drama from John H. Lee. He gives a completely deep drama about the relationship between married young couples after the wife got an Alzheimer... Two main actors, Woo-sung Jung and Ye-jin Son show great acting... Their act really natural, it just looks like it really happened on them... But one big problem for this movie is the story was pretty boring... Even I wanted to turn off this movie because I don't understand the movie... But overall, it a big thumbs up for the cast... They did a brilliant job in this movie, just need rework the screenplay I think... |

Man on Fire (2004, R)
Now I know the capacity of the actor Denzel Washington after I watched this movie... He played the character John Creasy so strongly in this movie, which is for me it's great, it just showed that AMPAS did a great job for giving him an Oscar a few years ago... He build his character strongly, I can even felt that... The story itself just got confused the first time, but when the relationship between Denzel Washington and Dakota Fanning goes well, the story become more interesting... And after the kidnapping, it just getting more and more interested to me... I become more curious to know what will happen next... The conspiracy that happen in this movie just great, even it's a little amusing... And how Creasy get rid of this kidnapping thing problem, it was brilliant for me... But, I kinda a little disturbed by the directing style when the bad guys calling... It just feeling weird and very inconvenient... But overall, it's a great movie to watch... Denzel Washington was great here, so does Dakota Fanning... |

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004, PG) |
|
| 42 |
I, Robot (2004, PG-13)
A pretty good and nice movie... A great effects combined with a pretty good story about future when human starting to lean themselves on robot, and then the robot itself starting to fight against human... Having Will Smith in this movie is great I think... He has a charisma for every movie he starred for and no wonder that this movie hits a box office... |

The Day After Tomorrow (2004, PG-13) |

The Forgotten (2004, PG-13)
Well, I must say that I'm impressed with what this movie shows... The story was great, love it... But after the scene started by when the house was gone like it was taken from upstairs, then the people, I don't like it anymore... I think it's just unrealistic, and the more disappointing is that scene is happened just right after I started to like this movie... When it comes to the ending, it's start to give me another hope just right after the alien took Telly's memory... But what happened later is another flick, all the geniuses story that made before ruined by an ending that's so predictable... Julianne Moore performance didn't help at all, at least if everybody saw this as her first movie, they won't know that she's a four-times Oscar nominated actress... But I'm understand why she didn't gave her best because it's a thriller movie, not a drama one... Overall, it's enjoyable and interesting, but I'm a little disappointed when this movie comes to the ending... |

Ocean's Twelve (2004, PG-13)
As I predicted before, this Ocean's Eleven sequel isn't good as the first one. Even the added character like Catherine Zeta Jones and Vincent Cassel were famous, but I think the first one still better. But, they had a good idea like when Tess become Julia Roberts. I'm sure it's laughable... Anyway, can't wait for it's final chapter next year... |

Taking Lives (2004, Unrated)
Actually, it's been a pretty good story... A story about serial murder that been happening and the murderer been using the victim identity for his own pleasure... Angelina Jolie shows great acting in here, she's really charming even becomes an FBI agent this time... The weakest point of the story maybe comes from Ethan Hawke... Since the first time he appears, I know that he's the murderer... He's trying to put a good performance so that people can't guess that he's the real murder but what happens is that didn't work... Maybe he still have the innocent face, but that didn't strong enough... I know that is a hard character to play and he's giving his best, but that doesn't really enough... Too bad Kiefer Sutherland only appears a little in this movie, and trying to put him as the bad guy in this movie didn't really work at all.. Actually, I've been a little surprised with the ending that the murderer escaped... But it still thrills me in the end... Pretty good movie to watch... |

The Big Bounce (2004, PG-13)
Actually, not that bad. The director can expose the beauty of Hawaii even just a little piece of that island. The story itself just ordinary, nothing special. The idea was pretty good, but the story didn't make well. A little weak I think... And choosing Owen Wilson as the main character just didn't work. I think he's too enjoyed with his role so he just thought that role same as another role he played in other movie. He just can't improve himself, he didn't realize that even his biggest fans can get bored by his act in comedy movie. Funny but too cliche, people can get bored if they got always the same comedy in other movie he starred... |

Little Black Book (2004, PG-13)
I really... really hoped this movie will be a great movie... Especially I started to like Brittany Murphy because she's could be the next America's Young Sweetheart u know... But the star in this movie isn't her, but Holly Hunter... I think she's saved this movie... Even the idea for the movie wasn't bad, but it's still horrible to me.... And the acting weren't emotionally in some scenes... But this movie could entertaining as well because of the 'Kippie Kann Do!!" thing... I thought it was funny... |

Garfield - The Movie (2004, PG)
Just a standard comedy for the kids... The story just ordinary and the humor just make a little laugh after all... Breckin Meyer and Jennifer Love Hewitt are truly disaster for this movie... Their chemistry was really bad, yet their acting was a disturbing one... Thumbs up should be given to Bill Murray whose gave a great voice to Garfield and Odie, a very little cute dog which is Garfield very very hate... Not pretty good movie and I was a little disappointing to watch it because it takes my time... |

Catwoman (2004, PG-13)
Actually, I heard a lot of bad things about this movie, like how this movie could end up in winning Razzie awards for Best Picture and Best Actress for Halle Berry, but I still wanted to see this movie... The truth is, yes it is true that this movie was bad, but not as horrible as I ever heard... If it's compared with what Michelle Pfeiffer did as Catwoman in Batman Returns, yes it's true that Halle Berry totally sucks in this movie, especially for an Academy Awards winning actress... She didn't go 'crazy' as Michelle Pfeiffer do when she gets reborn, she just looks like a woman with two personality, it's a different perception... Yet Halle Berry acts really horrible, she deserved winning a Razzie awards for this performance... The truth is she is did not pretty bad as Catwoman, at least she still got the sexy style... But her sexy was got because of her body which is sexy, not like Michelle Pfeiffer which is not sexy but because of she going crazy and so tempting, she becomes sexy in a superhero way... The Catwoman costumes itself just too sexy I think, looks like they want to sell the beauty of Halle Berry here, not the story of this movie which is pretty horrible for me... Having Benjamin Bratt or Sharon Stone not really helping for me, but at least their performance in this movie better than Halle Berry did... The only good thing about this movie is at least they told the history of a Catwoman, the other thing just sucks... |

Alexander (2004, R)
I have read so many bad reviews about this movie, and that isn't a myth... Alexander was a historic movie about the world conquerer, Alexander The Great. But the story of this movie didn't make very well... Sometimes it is so long and looks that it wants to show us how detailed it is, and sometimes it goes to fast without any explanation... But the fact is that this movie is so boring... I even yawn so many when seeing this movie, but luckily for this movie, I stay awake... Oliver Stone, i don't know why he is so famous but as far as the movies that directed by him that I already seen, it's just a standard. No good even excellent, but just standard.. Sometimes even worse... Maybe he have a decrease years after years for his movies.... But one that I admire is how he can get so many stars for this movie... Angelina Jolie, Val Kilmer, Rosario Dawson, Anthony Hopkins, even my favorite Jonathan Rhys Meyers also played in this movie, which I also shocked... But choosing Colin Farrell as Alexander, and Jared Leto as Hephahaitos were a mistake... Their act was terrible... Colin looks very gay in this story, yet Leto acts was like a beginner student in the acting academy.... And the most disturbing scene in this movie was when Alexander lost to a battle in India.. When it was a bloody battle, but I thought you don't need to color the background of the scenes with red color too... It just makes me sick... And Oliver should gave another acting lesson for all of the cast of this movie, because most of them were looks very clumsy. Maybe he thinks that many peoples involved in this movie, even they have so many people attend in one scene but it just looks like that Oliver met them in the street and say that 'I give you few dollars if you want to join us in this the next hit movie', but he was wrong.. This movie was too far to be said as good, even as the same story like 'Troy'. Not because Troy have Brad Pitt so Alexander can have Jolie, but even the story itself is a real jerk... I just hope that if Alexander The Great wants to be filmed again, none of the crews that works for this movie joins again on that movie... Because nothing better on that movie, except Jolie, Kilmer, and Hopkins I thought. But a big no for Colin Farrell... |

Sleepover (2004, PG)
The worst teenage movie I've already watched so far... The cast shows a terrible acting, the directing style is disturbing and annoying, and yet I don't have a lot of fun while watching it... One of the factor is there are no big teenage stars starred in this movie, that's the reason why this movie sucks... I don't blame the story, because I don't expect a better story from a teenage movie besides a bunch of girls having fun and go to the prom... The big question is, how can Steve Carrell starred in this movie??? |
