Serenity (2005, PG-13)
The first time I watched this I had never seen Firefly and although I enjoyed it, I was a bit 'meh' about it. When I watched it after seeing Firefly I liked it more. Although Firefly surpasses the movie by far, it is definitely an enjoyable movie but I think you have to be a fan of the series to appreciate it. |

A History of Violence (2005, R)
I'm a huge fan of Cronenberg, and so am attempting to watch all of his films. This was the first 'normal' movie of his that I've watched, so I was worried it was going to be kind of lame. But I enjoyed it. I thought the story was interesting, and the actors were fine (I don't usually like Maria Bello, but she didn't bother me in this). The only problem I had with it was the end of it. From William Hurt onwards. I was pretty captivated with the rest of it, but once he appeared it dragged on and I got bored. Other than that though, it was pretty good. |

The Devil's Rejects (2005, R)
I put this off for 2 and a half years because I LOVED the first one and didn't want a sequel to spoil it. While I did enjoy this movie, I didn't like this movie as a sequel. This was probably due to 1) Different Mama Firefly, 2) Baby is normal and her squeaky voice/laugh is gone, 3) Otis has a beard. I preferred the first one though (except for the ending). Actually, I didn't like either ending. |

Hitch (2005, PG-13)
I watched this as it was on the movie compatibility test. Anyway, as I hate rom/com's I expected this to suck. But I mostly enjoyed it, oddly. Some of it was funny, and I did chuckle a few times (well more like half a chuckle). Up until the last 20 minutes or so I was going to give it at least a 3/5, but the ending was horrible. I usually enjoy Will Smith in anything, because he's pretty cool, but Eva Mendes was absolutely disgusting. Besides the fact that she was wearing a Beatles shirt at the beginning, which I also own, her character was boring and stupid and not interesting in the least. Besides that she is so goddamn ugly I find it hard to believe anyone would be interested in her character. |

C.R.A.Z.Y. (Crazy) (2005, Unrated)
I decided one day to pick a random movie on Foxtel and watch it without reading anything about it. This was the movie I chose. Originally I was just going to watch the first five minutes and then go play Sims 2, as I was sitting out there deciding on names for my Prosperity Challenge (hence why most of the names of the Sims in that challenge come from this movie). Anyway, although it seemed kind of disjointed and random, I did enjoy it. But I am bias towards movies containing gay themes, as I love gay movies (yeah I don't know). |

Stay (2005, R)
Eh, so I was looking for a short movie to watch and I had this. I'm now going to give away some spoilers, so don't continue reading if you don't want to spoil it............................................................................................ Ok, so the first 1 or 2 movies you see like this, where 'it was all a dream', are exciting and original. After that, it gets old and lame. So, that's why this has a lowish rating. The acting wasn't too bad though. All in all, it was fairly lame and it's definately not essential watching. |

Zathura (2005, PG)
So, I pretty much hate all kids movies, but after a series of clicking on random things on IMDb, I ended up on this and as I was bored, decided to check it out. As it is written by the same dude as Jumanji, it is a lot like Jumanji, except in space. The effects were lame, as they are in stingy kids movies but it doesn't matter. It was sort of fun, and had I been younger I would've been able to look past the bad acting/effects/g-rated plot and enjoyed it a tiny bit more (although I didn't really like kids movies when I was young either). I wouldn't have missed anything if I hadn't watched it, but it wasn't a total waste of an hour and a half. |

Aeon Flux (2005, PG-13)
I thought the plot sounded interesting, but once I watched it, I realized it was just stupid. That's probably due to the horrible acting, although Jonny Lee Miller and Marton Csokas were alright, and badly written script. It was pretty though. I pretty much say that for all new movies due to the fact the shock of bright colours and clear quality after watching movies from the 70's and earlier. Lame ending too. |

Hard Candy (2006, R)
I watched this, as I thought it might've been interesting. But, it wasn't. With actors who could act and a better writer, the plot could've been turned into a good movie, hence the higher rating. I was pretty much bored throughout and Ellen Page's horrible acting almost made me turn it off. It was nowhere near as horrible as her acting in Juno (I saw this years before that), but it was pretty damn bad. And the character herself was stupid and overreacted. Yeah torture some guy who has trouble resisting temptation. *slaps character* |
