This is a list of all the movies I've seen in 2008, in order from the one I liked most to the one I liked the least. Note: I don't watch too many new movies, I'm trying to catch up!

Cloverfield (2008, PG-13)
After seeing the preview for this I was like 'meh whatever'. Dad decided to go to the movies to see it and I looked it up and saw it was with a handheld camera about a monster in the city, so I almost didn't go as I thought this was going to suck badly. As soon as it started though, I realized I was going to love it. Just the fact that they introduced the characters for as long as they did, and the way the movie progressed from there. I was literally on the edge of my seat and when it finished I was amazed that a new movie could be so awesome. It really is amazing. |

Iron Man (2008, PG-13)
I knew nothing about Iron Man when I saw this. As it was 1) new, 2) action movie and 3) based on a comic, I expected it to suck major balls. I was hugely surprised that it didn't. I liked it straight away, mainly due to Robert Downey Jr and the character of Tony Stark and the fact that he suited the character perfectly. The time he spent making the suit, I got slightly bored because I had no idea what was going on, but after that I started really enjoying it. I don't really like action movies, but I did like the action scenes in this. Besides that, it was funny, the actors were mostly good (I don't really like Gwyneth Paltrow, but she didn't annoy me too much) and it was actually not boring, unlike The Extremely Overrated Knight. |

Eagle Eye (2008, PG-13)
So, I enjoyed it. I didn't think I would as new movies suck, but it was fun. It was very unrealistic, but who cares? There's good unrealistic and bad unrealistic (ie Indy 4), and this was good. It doesn't shout in your face "Hey! Look, we're doing impossible stuff!" which they pretty much did every 5 seconds in Indy 4. |

Hellboy II: The Golden Army (Hellboy 2) (2008, PG-13)
I didn't really go crazy over the first one and so wasn't really interested in seeing this. But it wasn't too bad. The effects were mostly pretty bad, as are all effects these days, but the 'forest God' thing did look pretty cool. The creatures and stuff in it also looked cool, but CGI (etc) makes them look out of place. It seemed to drag on a bit near the end, but other than that it was fairly enjoyable. |

Slumdog Millionaire (2008, R)
I was actually pretty bored for the most part. But that is probably because I don't really like movies that are based around another culture (I dunno why, I just can't make myself care enough). So I was going to rate it lower, but there were things I liked about it. |

Vantage Point (2008, PG-13) |

Kung Fu Panda (2008, PG)
As I keep saying, I hate animated kids movies. I only watched this to try and catch up on some new movies, since I watch too many old ones. Anyway, surprisingly, I enjoyed it. It was a little boring plot-wise, but it looked good and there were a few funny jokes. I cracked up at the 'facial nerve' bit, which contributed to its higher rating as I haven't actually laughed out loud during a new movie in a while. |

Taken (2009, PG-13)
Really, the movie was horrible. But for some reason I enjoyed it. The acting was pretty bad (and I usually like Liam Neeson). I kept calling Liam's character 'Jack' (Jack Bauer) but that may have been because George was around (favourite character! George FTW!). Yeah... anyway, although lame, I liked the scene where Maggie Grace got taken by the pedo's. Also, I generally don't want a happy ending, but I did want one during this movie, for some reason. |

The Incredible Hulk (2008, PG-13)
I seem to be one of the few who didn't mind the original Hulk movie. So I didn't think this would be any good, but I did enjoy it, which was a surprise. Since I can't remember the original one, I'm not making any comparisons. Now, while the film is enjoyable, there are a few things majorly wrong it. |

Tropic Thunder (2008, R) |

WALL-E (2008, G)
I put this off for ages (it was the Top 250) for two reasons, 1) it was a kids animation and 2) the previews looked stupid. I didn't find the film overly entertaining, but it was extremely 'pretty'. I don't generally like this kind of animation, as although it looks nice, I prefer the look of old school cartoons (ie proper ones), but visually, it was amazing. And it takes a while to get in to it. Although I thought the plot was a good idea (I'm a fan of dystopic type futures), the movie itself was boring but this was due to it being a kids movie and also the fact the main characters weren't human (non-human characters annoy me). |

Untraceable (2008, R) |

Role Models (2008, R)
I generally hate this type of comedy and from seeing the poster, I knew pretty much everything that was going to happen. But, I was bored and needed something short to watch so I could get back to Prison Break. |

Mirrors (2008, R)
It was pretty lame as you would expect a new/new horror/remake/remake of an Asian horror movie, but it was ok. The effects were horrible, especially the fire which was extremely bad and cartoon-ish. The acting and casting was pretty bad too. I didn't really like Kiefer Sutherland in it, but that's probably because I kept thinking 'Jack Bauer would own this demon!'. He seemed a bit dodgy though. |

The Dark Knight (2008, PG-13)
This is the most overrated movie of all time. I didn't know much about it before hand except that Heath Ledger was supposed to have been good (although I don't like him) but I loved Batman Begins which was the main reason I saw it. I was extremely bored throughout the whole movie, and was yawning most of the way through it. The only two parts that got me interested were 1) the body hits the window, I was just about asleep and it made me jump and 2) when the button to blow the hospital didn't work because that was funny. I hate Katie Holmes, but she was way better than Maggie Gyllenhaal who had no chemistry with any of the cast and gave a horrible performance. Batman's voice was too deep, which distracted me most of the time. The plot and action scenes were a waste of time. Heath Ledger wasn't as great as everyone says, but he was ok. Just because someone plays a 'crazy loon' doesn't mean their perfomance was good. I prefer Jack Nicholson's Joker by far. |

Made of Honor (2008, PG-13)
It actually took me 5 days to watch the first 10 minutes because every time I started watching it, I got bored. Finally though I needed to watch a movie and it was the shortest one I had. |

Seven Pounds (2008, PG-13)
I watched this as there was a twist. I failed to see a twist at all. I will assume they meant the end was the twist, but it wasn't at all. Why else was he visiting the people? Seriously, if that's a twist... that's lame. Anyway, the movie was fairly uneventful. It was ok for a drama, and although I'm not really into underlying messages and rubbish like that, this one's was alright. |

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008, PG-13)
I'm not really into mindless, unrealistic action movies but sometimes I can enjoy them. I liked the first three Indiana Jones movies, but this one, really, was ridiculous. While it was somewhat enjoyable, it was so unrealistic that it did make less so. The other ones are unrealistic sure, but this one is unbelievable, aliens, seriously??? I did like the fact that it looks the same as the Indy movies, but it just doesn't feel right. It doesn't help having to watch Cate Blanchett attempting to act. |

Saw V (2008, R) |

The Accidental Husband (, PG-13)
I'm not going to say too much, as there isn't much to say. |

The Eye (2008, PG-13) |

27 Dresses (2008, PG-13)
It was extremely boring. The leads had no chemistry and weren't interesting characters anyway. It wasn't funny at all and I hate romantic comedies. The only thing I have to note is: in the scene in which Heigl is at her boss' office, her phone rings. My dad said "that's the man I love", guessing what she was going to say/thinking, so we have since then had a joke about my dad being in love with James Marsden. |

Blindness (2008, R)
The plot sounded interesting, due to it being similar to a zombie movie. But, it was so frickin' boring, I wanted to kill myself. Pretty much nothing happened, except people pooped on the floor, some people offered themselves up to be raped and the one person that could've done something, didn't really do much. |

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008, PG-13)
When I first found about it, it was on Flixster, and before reading the plot I clicked not interested due to the fact I hate Brad Pitt. Later, I read the plot and thought it was interesting and then realized it was the same movie. Anyway, it was extremely boring. Some people like watching 3 hour movies that are full of 'messages' and symbolism and rubbish like that. But I enjoy movies that are actually enjoyable. I don't like either Brad Pitt or Cate Blanchett; they are horrible actors and are extremely hideous, but ignoring all that it generally dragged on and nothing happened. I did like the idea, of a guy aging backwards but instead of really focusing on that it was just a romantic drama, about a guy who moves around a lot. So ignoring the extremely long runtime, and the boring-ness, there were a few things I liked, but it was mainly just the plot idea rather than the actual movie. If I was able to look past the idea, I would have given it a lower rating because I was really bored the whole way through. The only time I got excited was when they played 'Twist and Shout' because I love The Beatles and get excited whenever I hear them. |

Twilight (2008, PG-13)
I did read and like the books, but the movie sucked extreme balls. 1) Worst acting I have ever seen. 2) No chemistry between characters. 3) No relationship or story build up between characters. The movie seemed to span like 3 days and they were like "you are my life", "i can't live without you" etc. It doesn't make any sense why they love each other so much. If I hadn't read the books I would've given it a lower rating, but since I know what happens in the middle of it all, it's got a higher rating. Also, they hardly showed the Cullen family at all. Rosalie had like one line and that was supposed to tell us how hostile she was towards Bella. Seriously, wtf? The only reason people like the movie is because they like the book. All they see in the movie is the book and look past all the bad parts, which is everything. |

Wanted (2008, R)
I can't be bothered going on a huge rant about how lame it was so I'll just quickly point out those bits. |

Pineapple Express (2008, R)
So, I wanted to see this because it had a high rating on IMDb. When I finally got it, I watched a minute and thought it was stupid and stopped watching. After my brother said it was alright, I decided to watch it. It went for 2 hours, but it took me about 4 hours to watch it because I was so damn bored, I kept getting distracted and doing other things. |

Get Smart (2008, PG-13)
Firstly, this was frickin' horrible. It wasn't funny at all, the acting was bad, the casting was bad and it was just annoying. I haven't seen the original show and I'm not a fan of any of the cast so that probably affects my rating a bit. The only reason I watched it was because I happened to be in the lounge room when my brother and dad decided to watch it and as I want to watch as many movies as possible, I decided to stick around *facepalm*. I should've stared at the wall instead. |
