Woodstock - 3 Days of Peace & Music (1970, R)
absolutely brilliant! not just the live footage, turned into documentary, of the spectacle, but the festival itself. what a great thing. great times. great music. great ideas. now that was pure living. too bad the remakes and copies never reached the grandiosity of this original Woodstock festival... |

Morte a Venezia (Death in Venice) (1971, PG)I almost fell asleep with this, at least until the 30mins before the ending. I think I have to re-watch it someday to maybe give it the proper value, since this first time, it didn't really convice me at all. for what I've gathered, the story is very symbolistic, but too simple and weird, I mean, c'mon why should a once-married man fall inlove with a 14 yr old boy? I know I know, symbolism, the chastity, the purity he was seekin, but still.. and the kid, weirdly, gives him feedback. I must read Mann's novel before the re-watch, maybe i'll understand this better. |
