i need to stop watching these movies. not really funny and not at all impressed.

covers important issues, but suffers from poor editing.

another reason for me to move to Canada already.

quirky and fun. I will never look at carrots the same way again.

terrific historical montage with interesting Beatles covers throughout. Surprisingly well-done.

good companion to Water For Elephants (book).

I want Julie Christie's hair when I'm older.

heartbreaking, yet fascinating all at once.

not a comedy.

Cute, if predictable. Has some really funny bits and some really cheesy bits. It's sort of a cross between My Best Friend's Wedding and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, with elements from both.

Definitely not as good as Knocked Up, but still a great performance by Heigl. Marsden was also good. Judy Greer was also standout. Burns however, as usual, I could do without. Malin Akerman, whom I'd never seen, reminded me a lot of Cameron Diaz.

Cute and well written dramedy with great performances all around, especially from Page and Garner. I didn't quite feel the chemistry between Page and Cera but it was good enough as is. The setting of the film was spot on.

My new favorite Anderson film. Something I say with almost every new film of his it seems. Touching and funny and delightfully odd.

K-Pax, only on a smaller scale. heh.

I like John Cusack. In this as in everything else.

great, creepy, and annoying portrayal of cowardice by Casey Affleck. Pitt is stunning as usual.

sweet and savory. with a pinch of pixie dust. starts out slow but has you rooting for a happy ending by the close.

well acted but over-hyped. felt like a darker version of a John Grisham novel.

minus one star for weird CGI effects and changing the story.

I definitely prefer Ben Affleck as a director. This was much better than I expected. Loved the thought-provoking ending.

This was an excellent 1980's period piece and political commentary on the US involvement in the Soviet/Afghanistan War.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman was particularly good, whereas Hanks and Roberts to me seemed a bit miscast, though well played nonetheless.

Minus one star for the gross objectification of women, intentional or otherwise. It was disturbing to watch, and not at all empowering.

additionally, as i read elsewhere, a better title foor this film is probably Joanne Herring's War.

minus half star for the unbelievably sappy ass ending. They should have ended it much sooner. otherwise good acting and period settings.

Marsden and McAdams make a cute couple.

what is the deal with all these womanizing superheroes?? can we possibly glamorize the objectification of women any further?

some cool special effects, but just imagining my nephew looking up to this character left me quite unimpressed.

felt more like a bad Llifetime tv miniseries than a movie. couldn't wait for it to end.

typical action-packed Indy rip-off fluff from Disney. fun and ridiculous. not quite as good as the first one, but a fitting sequel nonetheless.

Another thought provoking film from Redford. I'm not much of a Cruise fan, but being a politician suits him.

dark, dreary, depressing, and about an hour and a half too long. epic indeed. nice acting by Daniel Day-Lewis as expected though.

i love this movie for one scene only: the epiphany she has after giving birth.

cute and fun though not without faults. I prefer How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days for this pairing, but still, not bad.

lots of fun. If you like Jack Black and/or Tenacious D, you'll love this.

in trying to portray austen as not exclusively chick-lit, they shoot themselves in the foot by making a chick-flick.

good and sappy until the end, which felt disjointed and rushed. Also, the pants were an inexplicably minor component.

probably due to the biologist in me, but I really liked this film quite a bit.

this movie had a lot of potential with an interesting take on two familiar storylines - Aurthurian legend and the fall of Rome. That, combined with some great actors made it worth watching for me.

I loved the strong role of Aishwarya as a persian warrior, but then they wasted her by turning it into an unbelievable love story. no chemistry at all.

i also love colin firth, but he just does not work well in the commanding military leader role.

miyazaki's finest.

chemistry? what chemistry. Pattinson did his best with a poor script, but was still laughable.

bizarre parody of dead poet's society...only really worth it for the last 20 minutes, when the play is finally put on.

great casting in this comedy of errors. frances mcdormand was standout.

Capra's masterpiece. often immitated, never superceded.

i watched this on my anniversary with my husband because there was nothing else on. how silly is that? not terrible, but not great either.
