The Bucket List (2007, PG-13)
Thought-provoking, humorous and emotional. There could have been a tad more character development, and for some reason they seemed to be in a hurry to get the "adventures" of completing the bucket list out of the way. Good movie nonetheless, with great acting from two of Hollywood's best in Nicholson and Freeman. |

28 Weeks Later... (2007, R)
I was happy to see they didn't try to make 28 Days Later over again. While 28 Days Later is one of my favorite horror movies of all time, it rarely works when you try to recreate the original in the sequel. 28 Weeks later, while keeping with some of the same from 28 Days Later (such as the gritty camera work, etc) is a much less intimate, and much more claustrophobic, fast-paced and intense film. Everything wasn't perfect. There was one recurring lapse in logic throughout the movie that just drove me nuts (it has to do with a character, and you'll understand when you see the movie) but overall I was very impressed with this sequel. |

American Gangster (2007, R)
Outstanding performances by both Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe. This was a great crime/mob drama, with overall great performances, well written story and well developed characters. Almost every character in this movie was well developed, which in this day and age is a rarity. Highly recommended. |
