Not as good as my imagination, but a good try at capturing CS Lewis on film. The sound track is freaking amazing--I've been listening to it in the car for the past week and it is capital! Got the 4-disc set for Christmas...the extended battle scene with the bat-creatures was great! They flew just like bats really fly--with the pumping legs and everything. Crazyness.

Great and terrible story. Freakin' movies about injustices in Africa get me everytime. Got it for Christmas!

As good as this movie was, the book was EVEN better, by about 700 pages.

Another Aishwarya movie. Great songs & dancing (of course). You know it will all work out okay, but it's never clear how you're going to get there until the end. I loved the part with the two saris.

Leaving my home for a distant land, far from the home I love. Who could see that a man would come who would change the shape of my dreams? Happy now I stand with him, watching older dreams grow dim....there with my love I'm home.

Super funny! We watched this at my sister's while everyone else was asleep--I thought I was going to wake everyone up laughing so hard! I have to see it again, and maybe even get it. Loved the Benedryl scene.

So good! Puts into perspective a lot of things that happen in Africa.... A great book to read if you liked this movie is "Left to Tell" by Immaculée Ilibagiza. I sobbed all through both and I'll probably watch and read them over and over. I'm looking forward to seeing "Shooting Dogs" and "Sometimes in April" on the same topic.

This movie puts into pictures the emotions that roll around in our hearts that are nearly impossible to express. Like when Merry & Pippin part at Rohan, or when Frodo gets on the boat to the Grey Havens.

Funnier in the retelling than in the watching. Still can't sit through it.

Wow. So good. It's always hard to tell how these 'historical' movies will turn out, but this was very believable and I actually found myself liking it. Although I suppose it sort of glossed over the tragedy of the Americans losing their land to Europeans. But it was great to see the world--both Old and New--through the eyes of Pocahontas. Really beautiful.

Yeah, just re-watched this. It's okay for a movie, but what a poor portrayal of what police work is actually like--very obvious now as I'm behind the scenes and know what even simple chases require from the officers in the cruisers. Forget it.

I loved this movie when it was first on TV. It's very cool. It appeals to the part of me that is still a child full of wonderment and thinking that behind any tree could be a land of fairy tales.

Makes you think, eh? I loved Natalie Portman, as usual. I think it was quite 1984 modernized, eh? Got it on Boxing day.
