The Phantom of the Opera (2004,  PG-13)
The Phantom of the Opera
One of the most famous and successful musicals of all time comes enticingly to the screen. Granted, they're not Broadway singers, but they do an admirable job. I simply LOVE most of the songs; my sister and I used to sing them around the house all the time!
2
The Music Man (2003,  G)
The Music Man
Probably one of my favorite musicals EVER, and I love Matthew Broderick and Kristin Chenoweth in the leading roles!
3
Singin' in the Rain (1952,  G)
Singin' in the Rain
I need to see this again, I adore this musical!
4
Fiddler on the Roof (1971,  G)
Fiddler on the Roof
It's a little long perhaps, but it's a classic musical (despite a kind of sad ending). A must-see!
5
Newsies (1992,  PG)
Newsies
Omgosh! I love this musical!!!!!
6
Cats: The Musical (1998,  G)
Cats: The Musical
Ok, ok, this one is actually pretty weird, but I have fond childhood memories of this one, so I'm partial to it. Some of the songs are a lot of fun!
7
The Sound of Music (1965,  G)
The Sound of Music
Absolutely classic! Go watch it right now if you haven't seen it already!
8
My Fair Lady (1964,  G)
My Fair Lady
I could've sung the songs all night!
9
Les Miserables - The Dream Cast in Concert (,  PG-13)
Les Miserables - The Dream Cast in Concert
Amazing music, amazing performers! I wish it was the whole play though and not just a concert of the songs. Oh well, it was still amazing.
10
Oklahoma! (1955,  G)
Oklahoma!
classic songs, if somewhat cheesy story (but hey, it's Rogers and Hammerstein, so how can you complain??)
11
State Fair (1945,  Unrated)
State Fair
totally cheesy, but again, classic Rogers & Hammerstein
12
Carousel (1956,  Unrated)
Carousel
The first Rogers & Hammerstein musical I've seen in which they didn't all live happily ever after. Still, it was beautifully done, with some truly wonderful songs, and thoughtful lessons to draw out of it. Worth seeing, though maybe not buying.
13
High School Musical (2006,  Unrated)
High School Musical
They're not great singers by a long shot, and the songs have no lyrical depth at all, but it's such an innocent family musical, my family can't help but enjoy it. ^__^
14
Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella (1997,  G)
Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella
So far my favorite version of the timeless musical! So the music and singng styles are modernized quite a bit, and the prince was just ok, but the rest is completely magical!
15
Cinderella (1957,  Unrated)
Cinderella
The original debut of the Rogers & Hammerstein classic. It was filmed completely live - no edits, cuts, or redo's, yet it looks absolutely seamless for it's day! Julie Andrews can do no wrong, it seems!
16
Mamma Mia! (2008,  PG-13)
Mamma Mia!
totally cheesy chic-flick musical, but the whole storyline is so dirty at heart, it's a shame that the movie is SO much fun to watch! The song and dance nubmers are (with a couple exceptions) irrestistible! But the end was also disappointing. (So just listen to the ABBA songs and that'll be good enough!)
17
Annie (1982,  G)
Annie
a classic, endearing musical. too bad the songs have become so cliched...
