Sid & Nancy (1986,  R)
Sid & Nancy
Twas alright. Dissappointed actually. I think it could have been done a bit better. Not much character to Sid and unimpressed with Nancy half the time, she seemed utterly daft but got the impression there must have been more to her in real life. She was a real bad ass punk at the same time, which was cool. Seemed a little long at times... Glad to see them slip in some X-rey spex though :D

I'm Not There (2007,  R)
I'm Not There
Cate Blanchette is nominated for Best Actress in Supporting role at the oscars! (she plays Bob Dylan in this movie!) This was really good! While i wasn't paying complete attention to it the first time, there were some scenes that caught me up into them. Mostly the ones with Cate Blanchette and Christian Bale who both did AMAZING!!! I love Going to Acopolco!!

La Vie en Rose (La Mome) (2007,  PG-13)
La Vie en Rose (La Mome)
Marion Cotillard is nominated for lead actress at the Oscars and after watching this, she certainly deserves it! This movie was very lovingly created. The only thing was it became somewhat tedious in that it seemed like it was going to end soon a number of times and was a long film, but still a very good one.

The U.S. vs. John Lennon (2006,  PG-13)
The U.S. vs. John Lennon
Wow! A good look at John Lennon after he met Yoko and left the Beatles to make his own music, build a family and make a statement about the war that will move the people towards peace! I didn't know much about Lennon before this, so I found it very moving! And I think Yoko is one cool chic

Rock Star (2001,  R)
Rock Star
The ending was redeeming for this one.

Imagine: John Lennon (1988,  R)
Imagine: John Lennon
An excellent look at John Lennon's life from when he and Paul and George got together as the Beatles and through their career. Initiated by Yoko, but put into the hands of a popular documentary producer/director who wasn't even a big fan of the Beatles before the project but is now! This film was originally almost 12 hours with several cuts to make it within 2hrs. The special features are excellent, so watch these too! There is special care to make the film about John Lennon, using his own voice to tell his stroy, instead of making it a 'lovechild' film by Yoko. It interviews John's first wife and child, which I didn't even know about! and which says much about his youth, while also touching on his later years with Yoko and the nature of John's heart so that his messages could be understood. It seems like there is so much more that could have been included, but it was still summerized well with the documentary footage that was available. Really good!!

Shine a Light (2008,  PG-13)
32
Satisfaction (1988,  PG-13)
Satisfaction
A super fun cheesy movie about a young girl band trying to make it. The music isn't that great but, it's certainly entertaining. Julia Roberts is not really the lead, as may be expected, she is actually less in the spotlight and the ditziest character. It's Justine Bateman who steals the show in this one! A GREAT leading lady. I also really enjoyed Britta Phillips and there is a cute romance with the rebel Trini Alvarado.
