For me, these are the films I've seen which are worth to be seen by most of us. They are those who got 3 1/2 stars as the minimum rating. NOTE: I may have forgotten to include some. And another thing, I did not include animated films. But many animated films are great and fun to watch. And these are listed in no specific order.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005,  PG)
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
A really awesome film with great imagination, brilliant story, awesome cast, good dialogues, jaw-dropping set and a legendary director. Everybody, both on-screen and off-screen personnel, did a really great job. Johnny Depp was stunningly great, as usual. But every time he does a film, he still surprises his audience. And of course, the great man behind the cameras, Tim Burton. Good tandem, huh? Sadly Helena Bonham Carter was just seen for a very short while, and still she was good.
2
Pirates of the Caribbean - The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003,  PG-13)
Pirates of the Caribbean - The Curse of the Black Pearl
Wonderful idea, good set and costumes, awesome performers and a brilliant Johnny Depp. Those made this film a great one. But I think the story was not quite deep and smart enough. The awesome effects and Depp saved this film from sinking to the bottom of the Caribbean waters.
3
Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End (2007,  PG-13)
Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End
For the critics, it may be the worst Pirates of the Caribbean film. But for me, this is my favorite. It has magnificent effects, enough humour, romance and action, still a great Depp and a very good ending. After I've seen this, I wasn't surprised it became a blockbuster. Everybody loves Captain Jack and I'll never wonder why.
4
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006,  PG-13)
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
It is a satisfying sequel with nice twists. But not quite a good ending, yet smart enough, I think. Again, the wondrous effects and Depp saved the film. The twists also made this good. After all that, in the end, it's still enjoyable and a film I'm proud I've seen.
5
Edward Scissorhands (1990,  PG-13)
Edward Scissorhands
One of tim burton's best. A great film telling the story of a "man-made man" who was never complete; he never had hands. Well, not exactly out of hands. He had improvised ones, and they're called scissorhands. What I like about this is though he don't have normal hands as any humanbeing would have, his creator never failed in giving him his most important part: a heart. This is a really good "Tim Burton" tale that says everyone, including an "Edward Scissorhands", has the right to love and deserves to be loved as well.
6
Secret Window (2004,  PG-13)
Secret Window
Another excellent film adapted from a great novel by an acclaimed author, Stephen King. The director was good. Johnny Depp was great. The story was undoubtedly brilliant. Mort(Depp) was being haunted by this Shooter(Turturro) because he fully believed that Mort stole his story but at the end, it was nobody else haunting him but himself all along. A line from this film says that the most important part of a story is its ending and in this marvelous film, it was all so true. I love this film.
7
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007,  R)
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
This is one of Tim Burton's best film ever. This is also one of Johnny Depp's best film ever. This is very sad and touching. The cast, director, effects editor, music, story, set and costumes were all great. And the thing I loved most about this is its ending. Its ending is the best and saddest ending this movie could ever have. This is unquestionably magnificent. This is truly a masterpiece.
8
Finding Neverland (2004,  PG)
Finding Neverland
A wonderful film with a brilliant story. I guess everybody, the performers and the crew, did an amazingly wonderful job. It is about how the well-acclaimed "Peter Pan" came to life through its brilliant playwright and author, an "unlocked imagination" and his encounter with a family that he loves most.
9
Chocolat (2000,  PG-13)
Chocolat
A beautiful film about a very conservative little town locked up in its tradition and stiff beliefs and is fully-controlled by its firm mayor and all his care about "morality". But is his concept of "morality" the best and right for all? Or is this just to keep traditions that are meant to be modified for good? These changed because of the inhabitance of a single mother and her daughter not under the mayor's power. She loves making chocolates and these sweets are forbidden as form of abstinence for the coming holy week. This movie shows a person making a difference, which is first frowned upon by the society because of those silly beliefs that locked them up into something they're not happy with.
10
What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993,  PG-13)
What's Eating Gilbert Grape
This was incredible! I saw a different side of Johnny Depp. He did great in this movie. So as Leonardo DiCaprio. I think and I know that he was the best artist in this film. He was so great. Imagine a teenager having the guts to act like that. His amazingly stunning performance made me love the movie even more. I also like the connection between Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio as if they were true brothers. Johnny Depp looked so sincere about the welfare of his younger brother, especially after the lost of their father. But I don't like his love interest here. They don't have the thing called "chemistry". And as for Leonardo DiCaprio, he showed a very likable autistic child who, despite his condition, knows that the person who could love him best more than anyone on earth is his brother. I agree that it was not given enough recognition. It deserves a lot of it.
11
Catch Me If You Can (2002,  PG-13)
Catch Me If You Can
An exceptional film. Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks were great, as they always were. This is a very smart film. I loved every second of it. And the story was very awesome. It is unquestionably wonderful because of course, it's directed by a very great director.
12
Forrest Gump (1994,  PG-13)
Forrest Gump
This is a phenomenal film about a dumb man, since birth, who made his life extraordinary. A man who was often ridiculed but showed them what he got, gained and lose things and people he loved along the way, and loved Jenny the most unconditional way ever. This is a very excellent film. No wonder it won both best picture and best actor, together with other 4 awards making those 6 oscar wins for this.
13
Saving Private Ryan (1998,  R)
Saving Private Ryan
This movie is really touching. It opens the eyes of the audience about the pain and agony the soldiers are suffering at war. This is a tough contender for best picture that year.
14
The Terminal (2004,  PG-13)
The Terminal
Really funny, nice story and good acting. This is certainly a must-see film. It is about a man stucked in an airport where he finds a family and a thrilling life in there and most especially, meeting the woman of his life. This is a very likable film. It got good shots of comedy, drama and romance.
15
The Green Mile (1999,  R)
The Green Mile
A great story from Stephen King made into a brilliant movie. It was nominated for 'best picture' in oscars, and I fully believe that it was a serious contender for that award. This film is indeed amazing. The story, The cast, everything. They were all brilliant.
16
Cast Away (2000,  PG-13)
Cast Away
Well-made film and a very promising acting by tom hanks, who had the movie to himself most of the time. This movie is really nice. And I will never forget his companion in a deserted island where he spent 4 yrs. of his life, Wilson! This film is magnificent.
17
You've Got Mail (1998,  PG)
You've Got Mail
I liked the concept, the story and the cast. It is really beautiful. This is a very smart and enjoyable love story.
18
Road to Perdition (2002,  R)
Road to Perdition
A movie that shows how much a father loves his son. It's beautiful. I loved this film. This is great from start to finish. Very good acting and a well-done ending.
19
Apollo 13 (1995,  PG)
Apollo 13
A very good film. The cast was great and so as its story and everything involved in this film.
20
Philadelphia (1993,  PG-13)
Philadelphia
A very touching and heartwarming film. This is one of the best 'Tom Hanks' film for which he won best actor. He really is a phenomenal actor. Everyone did great in this film. And the ending was really sad but at least, he finished the fight before his life was over and even won it.
21
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (2004,  PG)
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events
Ain't like any other. Good cast and wonderful story. Jim Carrey is a really good actor, and he has proven it many times. For me, it is almost like a "Tim Burton" film, only a little brighter. And I will always adore the good looks of Liam Aiken whom I've known through this amazing film.
22
Titanic (1997,  PG-13)
Titanic
This is a really beautiful film. It won't be forgotten for such a long time, maybe forever. The cast was really good. The story is beautiful and romantic, and touching. The death of every person on the ship is heartbreaking, especially when there's a mother telling a story to her children at some point near the end.
23
The Notebook (2004,  PG-13)
The Notebook
It was beautiful and romantic. One of the best love stories ever told. The story was really, really great. They are really meant for each other. The ending was very sad but on the brighter side, at least they died in each other's arms and with their everlasting love.
24
Gladiator (2000,  R)
Gladiator
This is great! I loved this film. Russell Crowe did very well in this movie. He is indeed a very good actor. This is another BIG thing. This has a very great and heroic story. A marvelous story about an honorable general whom the emperor loved as his own, chosen as the emperor's heir, coveted by the emperor's son who destroyed his life and family, became a slave who later turned to a gladiator that dishonored an unrighteous empire and died with peace in his heart.
25
Life Is Beautiful (La Vita č bella) (1998,  PG-13)
Life Is Beautiful (La Vita č bella)
A very beautiful film. It is one of the best 'best pictures' ever. It does not solely focuses on the situation of Jews during World War 2 but instead, it focuses on how much you are willing to give for those who matters to you the most and the faith to make it through. It has a very melancholic ending and at the same time, full of hope for a new beginning. This film will be cherished forever.
26
The Phantom of the Opera (2004,  PG-13)
The Phantom of the Opera
This musical is certainly a masterpiece. I wonder why many critics didn't like it much. The story and the music was great, as well as the cast. This is a film I would love for the rest of my life.
27
The Passion of the Christ (2004,  R)
The Passion of the Christ
One of the best religious films ever! Mel Gibson did great. This one is overwhelming with sadness and emotion. After I watched this, I realized more deeply the sacrifices Jesus did and the pain he suffered just to save us from our sins. This is such a brilliant film about Christ. There are a lot of sad films in which I also felt the emotion of those masterpieces but this is the only film that made tears rush down my cheeks.
28
Dead Poets Society (1989,  PG)
Dead Poets Society
A very astonishing film. Everything was great. The story, the cast, how the film was carried out, everything. Robin Williams did a really good job and so as the other characters. I fell in love with this film and I'll never fall out of love. This is a very inspiring film and one of the most unforgettable movies I've ever seen. This is a certified must-see and undoubtedly a masterpiece.
29
Pride and Prejudice (2005,  PG)
Pride and Prejudice
This is really nice. Keira Knigtley surely deserves to be nominated as best actress for her role in here. And the story was also nice. And it is romantic even though the only kissing scene is the last part on the American alternate ending. This film is to be loved by most of those who have seen it.
30
Changeling (2008,  R)
Changeling
A very touching story. A really heartwarming film. I've seen many movies about fathers and their children, and this is about a mother who would give anything just to have her son back. A really good film. Angelina Jolie is very remarkable here.
31
Bedtime Stories (2008,  PG)
Bedtime Stories
It was funny, imaginative and nice. Adam Sandler did great. I loved every second of it.
32
Atonement (2007,  R)
Atonement
A really wonderful film. The start was kinda boring, but it gets better and better. Its title explains the whole movie. It is surely worthy for a best picture nomination.
33
Seven Pounds (2008,  PG-13)
Seven Pounds
This is great. It has a wonderful story and as it gets to its end, it gets better. Will Smith did an amazingly good performance.
34
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008,  PG-13)
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Really nice. A very promising movie. Somewhat similar to Forrest Gump. I really liked the idea of this film. This is a sad film. This shows a different side of a man's life, a very unusual side.
35
The Great Debaters (2007,  PG-13)
The Great Debaters
Nice movie though the ending wass predicatable. The cast was great. I loved the story. My favorite debater would be Henry Lowe. This is a film where you'll get a lot of stuff. Really wonderful.
36
A Walk to Remember (2002,  PG)
A Walk to Remember
A great love story. It shows how two people from different worlds apart can possibly love each other. This film is very sweet and really shows the power of love. It proves that true love never dies.
37
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe (2005,  PG)
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
This is a great English film. Nice adaptation of the book.
38
The Day After Tomorrow (2004,  PG-13)
The Day After Tomorrow
I really like its message. Many people should see this film. I think this is really intellectual and good.
39
Jersey Girl (2004,  PG-13)
Jersey Girl
I watched this when i was about 7, 8 or 9 yrs. old. I liked it. The story was nice. One thing I can't forget about this is their sweeney todd presentation.
40
Iron Man (2008,  PG-13)
Iron Man
This film is awesome. A very good action film, and an unusual but great superhero film. It is true, heroes aren't born. They are built.
41
The Incredible Hulk (2008,  PG-13)
The Incredible Hulk
I liked this better than the other earlier version. This has a better story, better special effects and a lot better ending. Another thing great about this is the very excellent actor, Edward Norton. It is one great action film that will satisfy its audience.
42
Spider-Man (2002,  PG-13)
Spider-Man
This a very good superhero movie. Toby Maguire was so great, as well as its effects. No wonder it constantly tops the charts.
43
Spider-Man 3 (2007,  PG-13)
Spider-Man 3
This is my favorite Spider-Man movie. Toby Maguire did a very good job here, especially when portraying the darker side of himself. Really cool!
44
Spider-Man 2 (2004,  PG-13)
Spider-Man 2
It is okay but I think the first one is better. But it is still good.
45
King Kong (2005,  PG-13)
King Kong
The story was great and it has good special effects.
46
The Truman Show (1998,  PG)
The Truman Show
This is film is one of the most interesting films I've seen. I really like the concept of this film. This is extraordinary. I loved watching it. But the ending isn't as great.
47
Oliver Twist (2005,  PG-13)
Oliver Twist
It has a nice story, as well as the film. A very likable period film, without a doubt. I loved its dark theme.
48
Inkheart (2009,  PG)
Inkheart
I find it imaginative and wonderful. The effects were great, the costumes, the cast. They were good enough. I heard the producers wanted a bigger actor here, but the author of the book where the film was based wanted Brendan Fraser for this. Well, she isn't wrong for choosing him.
49
I Am Sam (2002,  PG-13)
I Am Sam
It was really nice. It was a very touching film. Sean Penn was worth to be nominated best actor. He did a really good job. Dakota Fanning was also good. I loved its story. It was really touching and heartwarming.
50
Jerry Maguire (1996,  R)
Jerry Maguire
I guess I enjoyed this film. Tom Cruise did a very good job, for which he was nominated for best actor. Cuba Gooding Jr. is also good. This film has a very brilliant story. This is a very good film to see. It's not what I really expected, but it's still satisfying.
51
Shakespeare in Love (1998,  R)
Shakespeare in Love
This is very beautiful. A very romantic period film. This is worthy enough to win best picture. The cast was also amazing. The story, oh its story is just great! The costumes, neat. The ending, unpredictable and brilliant.
52
Frost/Nixon (2008,  R)
Frost/Nixon
Indeed, a sophisticated film. It is worth to be nominated 'best picture' in Academy Awards and is a serious nominee for it.
53
Juno (2007,  PG-13)
Juno
I changed my former review about this film. At first, I didn't like it much. I thought it was just another typical american film that was lucky to be in an Oscars awards night. But sometimes I think about it over and over again. If it isn't good enough, then why does it enter my mind frequently? Maybe I was wrong. It deserves its seat in the Oscars awards night. It is not just any other film. It is a good film about a young lady, I guess 'lady' isn't the right word for Juno but it can do, being brave enough to face a problem quite big. A good teenage film.
54
Nim's Island (2008,  PG)
Nim's Island
This is a very good family film. The story was very good and unique. Gerard Butler, Jodie Foster and Abigail Breslin were all wonderful performers.
55
American Beauty (1999,  R)
American Beauty
I didn't appreciate it at first. I just thought that it was too liberal. But behind every scene, behind every moment, we just need to... look closer.
56
Poseidon (2006,  PG-13)
Poseidon
I forgot to rate this before. For me, this isn't a bad film. I liked it, and it made my heart beat faster than usual. There's the feeling of being nervous. This is intense. Imagine their struggle in order to survive. The deaths of some of them along the way were devastating, especially the father of the lady who tried to turn off the propellers so that the others can make their way out of the ship. This is a good film.
57
The Pursuit of Happyness (2006,  PG-13)
The Pursuit of Happyness
This is a very inspiring and touching film. A very good performance by Will Smith. A film intended to be seen by a lot of people.
58
War of the Worlds (2005,  PG-13)
War of the Worlds
It is far from what I expected, but it is still good. Having Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning here is a good idea, since both of them are good performers. Justin Chatwin is also good enough. I'm not that into sci-fi films, but this is a good one. I was never bored watching it, because there are sci-fi films that seems boring for me. The best thing about this film is its special effects; all of which are great. Another thing making this film great is having it seen from the point of view of a usual American family struggling for survival. But amidst those, it is not one of Steven Speilberg's best. But there is no doubt that the critics would like it, and there is also no doubt that the ordinary viewers won't like it that much. I think it's because it lacks emotional connection and it's more of technical.
59
Valkyrie (2008,  PG-13)
Valkyrie
This is a good World War 2 film, having it viewed from the German soldiers' side. Soldiers who realized that Hitler is being such an evil leader. They planned to execute him, but failed. At least, they stood for what they believed is right. Usually, World War 2 films are all about American soldiers at war or victims being shown to suffer from the cruelty of Germany led by Hitler. It is good that this movie stood on the different side of the story, but retaining the human dignity to stand up for justice and for the welfare of their beloved country. This is a very good film that surely thrilled its viewers without so much action-filled scenes. There is a bunch of great actors here. This is a good film to see.
60
The Reader (2008,  R)
The Reader
The story was amazing. I loved the story, and even the ending. I loved the way the story evolved. The actors were also pretty good. David Kross was really professional, after everything I've seen. I find everything great, except for being so "indecent". The film was solely confined to be seen only by the adults (though I watched it myself). People who should see this would need a lot of open-mindedness to avoid immorality in swallowing them whole.
61
The Duchess (2008,  PG-13)
The Duchess
it is a beautiful period movie.. keira knigtley did a wonderful job.. it is about georgiana who married a duke, became the duchess of devonshire, had to live up with the expectations of his husband and the mob, fell in love with another guy who was later engaged to someone else, lost his husband to her best friend and ended up alone.. i felt sad for georgiana, but at least she had her children, who made her happy.. everything is beautiful in this film..
62
The Dark Knight (2008,  PG-13)
The Dark Knight
About awesome special effects, action-packed scenes, brilliant set and costumes, and a bunch of amazing actors, there's no question at all. All of those were supplied greatly by this film. While watching, I don't find the beginnning and some parts in the middle that good. I thought they were way down below my expectations, after hearing a lot of good things about this film. But as it gets to its end, things were becoming a lot awesome. The actors, all great. Christian Bale was unquestionably a very good actor. And as for Heath Ledger, he was extremely outstanding. He deserves every recognition he got from doing the role of The Joker, from the smallest recognition up to the Oscars trophy. Bruce Wayne, or Batman, is a lot more than a hero. He may be the one of the most noble characters ever seen on the big screen. The ending was also really wise and great. The concept was also great. Its concept, "dark knight", is really amazing. This superhero film have done way more than what I expected. It's true that a true genius doesn't live up to expectations because a true genius shatters them. And every one involved in this film are all geniuses. Almost everybody, from ordinary viewers to movie critics, admired this film and I would never wonder why. This may be one of the best and most unforgettable superhero movies I've seen.
63
The Da Vinci Code (2006,  PG-13)
The Da Vinci Code
This is a film is not bad at all. It wouldn't waste your time, though it did for the critics. Ron Howard made a good job in bringing Dan Brown's novel to life. The story is very imaginative, but at the same time, very controversial. It is filled with great actors and a good director, but it touched a very sensitive part of history and religion. Dan Brown invented a good fiction, but somehow shaking for many Christians. At least we have the faith, that even efter we have seen this we will still have faith in what the Church taught us about God and His divinity. I'm even more excited to see "Angels and Demons" after I've seen this.
64
Mission Impossible (1996,  PG-13)
Mission Impossible
This film can be regarded as a good classic action movie. Its story is not that deep and interesting. It seems to be just like any typical action film. Still, the story was quite satisfying and the film is worth-watching. The director is quite good. The effects were not great, including the blood stuff, but all of which are understandable because this was made in 1996. But those are tolerable for me. Well, I liked the disguise of Ethan Hunt (Cruise). Tom Cruise dignified his character pretty well. And the scenes, they were excellently thrilling. I'm looking forward to see its sequel. All in all, it's pretty neat.
65
Angels & Demons (2009,  PG-13)
Angels & Demons
It is a lot like Da Vinci Code, of course. The plot is very much similar, a man got killed and Prof. Langdon called for help then it would turn out that it has something to do with the Catholic Church. But it is a thousand times better! This is a great Dan Brown fictional novel turned to another Ron Howard masterpiece. This really is a must-see. I wonder why it appears to be rotten for the critics. Tom Hanks did good, as he always does. Ewan McGregor was great. Again, just as Da Vinci Code, Dan Brown touched a very sensitive aspect. But what the heck, it's merely fictional. The problem about those is that they bring confusion to some. I hope those who have seen The Da Vinci Code and this that doubted their faith come to their senses. Though controversial, but not as controversial as Da Vinci Code, this is a good film to see. Films like this are meant to remain on the big screen, and not to go through breaking our faith. I strongly suggest for this film to be seen, but keep in mind that this is merely fiction.
66
Mission Impossible 2 (2000,  PG-13)
Mission Impossible 2
Based on special effects, and thrilling and action-packed scenes, this one is better than the first installment. But I find the plot of the first film quite better. I also find Tom Cruise more convincing in the first film. But at least, this has more polished effects. It also showed a much cooler and better Ethan Hunt. Although better in capabilities, he looked more handsome in the first film. The story this film shows is good enough for me, but I still liked the first one better. Still, this is a must-see. If you like actions movies, you'll love this film. I'm looking forward to see the third installment and I expect it to be the best among the Mission:Impossible films.
67
The Island (2005,  PG-13)
The Island
This may be one of the best futuristic films I've ever seen, and also the best sci-fi film. The director was great. The set, special effects, oh gosh. They were all jaw-dropping. I loved the cast, especially Ewan McGregor. Ewan and Scarlett look good together. And its story, it is a powerful one. This movie is a nice piece of art! I liked the chase scenes, the concept, everything. Though action-packed and thrilling, it retained its very good story. This is a film where you'll get both amazing story and brilliant scenes. I was never bored watching this. Everybody should see this. I know that for many it is not that good, but for me it is good enough.
68
Mission: Impossible III (2006,  PG-13)
Mission: Impossible III
It seems to be the best of all the Mission Impossible films. It got good action scenes, awesome thrilling events and brilliant special effects. Tom Cruise did well in this movie. This is the most intense and thrilling installment. This is an excellent classic action film.
69
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone) (2001,  PG)
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone)
This film is definitely magical! Well, I mean it rhetorically. Though it would also work even if I mean it literally. Fantasy may be one of the best movie genres ever. Now I know why almost the whole world is crazy about this. This film is great! Every second of it is enchanting, though some effects were quite not as enchanting. I spent 14 years of my life without seeing this masterpiece. Where have I been all my life? I'm glad I had the chance to watch this. I would love to see all the other Harry Potter films.
70
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002,  PG)
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Another impressive film. I just love fantasy films. I think they are intelligent, given enough effort and amazingly brilliant. Going back to Chamber of Secrets, it is awesome just like the first one. Technically, I think this one has improved far better than Sorcerer's Stone. But in terms of its emotional connection, both are great. I also loved the twists, both here and the first film. But the twists in this installment, I think, are greater than the first. But I don't like the appearance of the basilisk though it only appeared for a few minutes. This one gave a little more intense and thrilling scenes than the first one, but I love them both. Amidst all that, I personally think that the first installment is more remarkable. They're both unquestionably remarkable because they're both excellently made but I just think that the first one's more remarkable.
71
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004,  PG)
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
This is so much better than the first two. Everything was undoubtedly great! This film is flawless. I loved everything about it. It's amazing. It has improved a lot. Every little thing from start to finish are far off better than the first two. The first two were brilliant, but this is much more. I never knew that I'd live to see this. I don't know what else to say. I'm deeply impressed by this film. Words will never be enough to express its brilliance.
72
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005,  PG-13)
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
No wonder, another Harry Potter masterpiece. I think, since I haven't watched all, Harry Potter films are truly nice works of art. While I'm watching it, I think I had the same kind of feeling while watching the Chamber of Secrets. But this has a lot better special effects. Like the past three installments, this is another one I admired. Fantasy films are just brilliant.
73
Moulin Rouge! (2001,  PG-13)
Moulin Rouge!
It was a very beautiful musical. For me, it's one of the best. I liked the music, admired the cast, adored the set and fell in love with its story. The set was definitely great. No wonder it had its Oscars for the set design and costumes. I love seeing such set designs. The story was quite alike with Shakespeare in Love. As for the story, it's not the typical love story often seen. It was like a fairytale in reality. It's the occurence of love in an unlikely place. It's the expression of love in the purest way in a place never so pure. This film shows how powerful love is. The ending was quite good. "The greatest thing you'll ever learn is to love and be loved in return."

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008,  PG-13)
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
I forgot to rate this before. Since this is the first and only Indiana Jones I've watched so far, I don't know if this one improved. As I see it, there's thrill, action, humor and little bit magic all packed in a single film. This is never a bad film to see. It's worth the time.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007,  PG-13)
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
I think this is the best Harry Potter film so far. It is the most polished film, but we're yet to see the later installments. It also the most emotional film, which is good. It's quite different from the first five, maybe because it freed itself of the drastic twists. The biggest twist here may be the death of Sirius Black or the new line of villains. It's a good thing they loosened the film up of the shocking twists, for a change. Change is not bad. But the twists were nice, though. Still, the HP film I like most is the Prizoner of Azkaban. No wonder, HP movies are getting a lot better.

Vanilla Sky (2001,  R)
Vanilla Sky
I don't know whether I liked it or not. I'm so confused about my reaction on this. It's like a not-so-good movie worth the time. I got a lot of headache because of this! But for me, of all the Tom Cruise films I've seen, this is his best performance yet. And he actually looked good with both Cameron Diaz and Penelope Cruz. I'm only sure of one thing, this is the film with the most drastic twists I've ever seen in my whole life.

Miracle at St. Anna (2008,  R)
Miracle at St. Anna
Overall, it was quite beautiful. The story is like "Life is Beautiful" and "Saving Private Ryan" combined, but never better than any of those two. What I don't like about this is that I didn't understand most of the dialogues, which are spoken in Italian. Yet, the final scenes were sad and beautiful. The film was also an interesting one, for the fact that I admire period and war films. The effects were not that good, knowing that it was released not so long ago. The film is very inspiring and soul-lifting. It is a nice film to see. It's just that it's so hard to watch a film wherein you never know what exactly they're talking about.

The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring (2001,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring
It's a beautiful fantasy film. There is no doubt about that. I'll never question why the critics and ordinary viewers loved it. The viewing time is almost three hours, which is quite long. But all the three hours were well-spent, if you ask me. I admit that I got tired focusing my eyes on a film for three hours, but I'll never regret getting tired if I were to see a masterpiece. It's hard to put into words the magic shown by this movie. I'm so happy and fulfilled that I've already seen this. I'm glad I've already watched the beginning of the greatest trilogy to date.

Coraline (2009,  PG)
Coraline
I loved it. I loved everything about it! Dark-themed films are usually great. This may be the best animated film I've ever seen in my whole life. This is well-crafted and beautifully made. I really love it. I don't know how to put into words the greatness of such masterpiece. Henry Selick is a good director, almost like Tim Burton.

Apocalypto (2006,  R)
Apocalypto
It was, overall, a good film. The set and costumes were admirable. The actors were all good. Really good. They act very well. The direction is also okay, as well as the story. The film evolved beautifully. I didn't like the way the first few parts of the movie appeared on screen. Technically, the first few scenes seemed less than satisfying. I also felt bad about the special effects. Knowing that it was released in 2006, everything must look real. The body organs were obviously unreal. The jaguar, the tapir, some killings were obviously fake. There are movies released in the 90's which looked a lot better than this in terms of special effects.

Public Enemies (2009,  R)
Public Enemies
It's excellently made. Michael Mann got the skills. The actors, especially Depp, were all great. I loved the set and the outfits. It's not your ordinary action film. It's something deeper. And inspite of the intense scenes, it's a kind of action film that won't get you exhausted. It's a film most of the critics would undoubtedly applaud. The long months of waiting is finally over, and it's worth it.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009,  PG)
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
The film was great! Really beautiful. Perhaps the most beautiful installment so far. Every little thing in this film is great. Though its being 3D only lasted for about 15 minutes, it's worth everything. I don't have anything more to say. It just gets better and better.

Ghost (1990,  R)
Ghost
This is a lot more beautiful and awesome than I expected! I never thought that a ghost story would be as great. I'm really happy I've seen this film. It has a good story, and good actors. I loved the film.

Broken Flowers (2005,  R)
Broken Flowers
A very deep film. The plot is really interesting. It's nice how his past was told through solving this "mystery" of being a father to a 19-year-old teenager. It just appears to a bit boring, and I didn't like any of his ex-girlfriends.

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind (2004,  R)
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
Good film, with a beautiful screenplay. The actors were good. Very similar to Vanilla Sky. It's just so nice that when they realized that they got tired of each other and erased both of them in each one's memory, they started to know what they really mean to one another. It's sort of confusing so you better watch it, and it'll make you're time worthwhile.

Across the Universe (2007,  PG-13)
Across the Universe
From the greatest hits the world has ever heard from the rock band that made a name in history comes a magnificent musical that many could appreciate. Through combining Beatles songs, they were able to tell a story that could capture souls. Here is a love story between an English guy and an American girl, which was tested and strengthened by the circumstances of the war and personal principles they're willing to fight for. When I decided to watch this, it was a bit late in the evening and I feel kind of sleepy. But as the movie started, my lethargy slowly passed away. I love the songs. Undoubtedly, I would because it's from the music legends. I love the voices of the cast, all of which are great and blends well with each other. I like the acting and the story as well. But something surely remarkable in this film is that every depiction of a song is like a well-crafted music video. It's like a chain of music videos combined together to form such a masterpiece. I wonder why the critics didn't like it much. It's a film worth all the praises, just like the praises earned by the world-renowned band from which the songs came from.

A Beautiful Mind (2001,  PG-13)
A Beautiful Mind
Brilliant. Well-crafted. Stunning. Beautiful. The film was amazing! One of the best biopics ever. All the actors were great! Russell Crowe showed a really admirable and awesome performance. He truly deserves the Oscar nomination, and he should have won. All of his fellow performers were also great. Each made their characters remarkable. Ron Howard is such a magnificent director. The screenplay was also really beautiful. No wonder it bagged its Oscar. I would never regret I bought the DVD. I waited for such a long time to watch this, and I'm happy I did. It was never boring for me though it seems that it is for some. It has a wonderful way of connecting to its audience. I really felt the sadness and adversities John Nash went through. I really love the film! It is an exceptional motion picture which shows that what matters most is not what is stuck inside your head, but the power you have in your heart. It is a film that grabbed me to the soul!

Amelie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain) (2001,  R)
Amelie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain)
"One person can change your life forever." This really beautiful film proved it. There's no doubt the critics liked it much. The way the story was told and/or presented was very astonishing. The cast performed really well. It is a remarkable motion picture with a pretty good story. It's about a simple, shy lady who was able to change other's lives for the better. I liked the ending, too. I personally prefer sad endings because they capture my emotions more, but this proves that isn't totally true. Even happy endings can capture its audience significantly the same way sad endings do. This film just proves that a single person can do a lot in making the world a better place. You may not entirely and exactly change the whole world, but maybe change another person's very own world.

Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961,  Unrated)
Breakfast at Tiffany's
The movie was pretty cute. Audrey Hepburn deserves the Oscar nomination. The story is also nice. It just appears to be a bit boring, which is understandable since it was made a few decades ago. The way the movie ended is predictable, but good. It's a beautiful love story. It's very simple, but I think it can capture hearts.
