3	The Road (2009, R) This is the film adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's latest novel. You might know him as the author of such classics as No Country For Old Men and Blood Meridian. No Country For Old Men was the novel that turned into an Oscar winning film directed by the Coen Brothers and Blood Meridian will soon be made for the screen by director Ridley Scott. The Road, known to be the 2007 Pulitzer Prize winner for fiction, is an absolutely fantastic read and one of my favourite novels. Me being a huge fan of both Cormac and the book, hopefully, the film version doesn't disappoint. I mean with Viggo Mortensen and Kodi Smit-McPhee portraying the main characters of father and son plus director John Hillcoat what can go wrong?

29	Star Trek (2009, PG-13) Several weeks ago, here in Australia, Greater Union (a popular cinema chain) held a competition for a Special Mystery Screening which was screened last night. Surprisingly, I was one of the lucky few that won the tickets and this was how I managed to watch an early preview of this. As you can see with my rating, I was fairly impressed with this. Having never been a Star Trek fan I was quite nervous how this reboot would turn out but the man, J.J. Abrams pulls it off. The storyline, acting, and CGI are all top-notch. Full review coming soon
