Martyrs
Martyrs is definately a movie that took me by suprise.I was not aware of the hype, and I didn't know much about this movie before watching it. I have never been so emotionally tossed around by a movie before. It gave me chills, frights, shocks, disgust and also fascination enough to keep watching all the way to the end. There are so many elements in this movie and there are movies that have touched some of them. There are similarities to Hostel,Saw,The Grudge and many other movies...even Hellraiser. The thing that separates all of the above-mentioned movies from Martyrs is that this movie is done more realistic...not so over the top. This is not a cheesy b-movie with bad actors and cheap effects...not at all. This is a serious movie, very well made and at times very shocking. All the blood and gore didn't shock me much tho.It was more the psychological undertones that freaked me out from time to time and made me feel uneasy and appalled.I guess this movie will be loved and/or hated for many different reasons. It all depends on the viewer.

Warning!
For those of you who must have a ending that makes sense...Stay away! :0)

Coraline
Wow!! What an amazing movie.Henry Selick did it again, altho this is different from The Nightmare Before Christmas. This story is penned by Neil Gaiman who won an award for the novella Coraline some years ago.
This movie have some of the most stunning and mindblowing visuals I have ever seen....I was totally mesmerized.
