Hostel: Part II
While this wasnt as good the first it has its moments. Instead of a group of guys we get the girls. The girls in this film were kinda annoying to me,so i have to say I preferr it the characters in the first film. They were more real to me and had a better sense of humor. And the killing of Jay Hernandez in this film pissed me off!

As for the death scenes, they where better than the first. My favorite was the Heather Marazzo,ya know when she was hung upside down. So bloody and sick ;) I did like Roger Bart in this movie so funny and I loved his dialogue about how after they kill people will fear them, people will be able to sense it.

The part that I didnt really care for was how they choosed the people to be tortured. I felt they could have made that more interesting.I did find the ending me be painfull from a guys perspective. i dont want to give anything away,or maybe you can guess what it is by that statemeant. For those of you who have seen the film,ya know what I mean " ouch" haha A fun film but not something that will go down as a classic at least not in my mind.

Robert Downey JR. is great in this movie. This film really surprised me, when I first heard about it i thought " oh no not another comic book movie" However this movie is actually worth watching. it foucus more on the characters rather than the action, which is nice for a chnage.

I Am Legend (2007,  PG-13)
I Am Legend
One of Will Smith's best performances to date! This might not be the most original movie we have seen. I mean how many times have we seen the end of the world theme? Like alot I think. In fact this film is a remake of a remake! That doesnt take away anything from the film for me. The movie might have seemed slow at times...but Will Smith's performance sure as shit does! I mean wow prolly hs third best perfomance. Ali and the Pursuit of Happiness being his best. What he does best in this movie is have the audience belive that he is strong enough to survive. He plays this realism which was spot on. One of my favorite moments was very small, but very real to me. The scene where Smith walked into the room when the little boy was watching Sherk. Smith appears to know every line from the film. Like he was so lonely that he watched the movie hundreds of times. My guesse was that it reminded him of his kid. The scene was both humrous and touching at the same time. Its the little things that caught my eye in this film. I also liked that he found a connection with the dog. He treated it as if it were his own son. Like when he tells the dog that he must eat his vegtables,he had a strong connection with that dog, helped keep his sanity. Very smart way of showing his emotions with out talking Smith did in this film!!

As for the special effects I do feel that they could have been a bit better. Not bad or anything, but in this day and age you expect the best. Maybe they payed Will Smith too much and said fuck the effects we still have Smith lol. I mean he owned the part. Made me a beliver...watch this film, touching, subtle, humor, a times depressing yes,but its all worth it.

I will be at the South Street Seaport everyday at mid-day, when the sun is highest in the sky. If you are out there... if anyone is out there... Closer (2004,  R)
Closer
Ok heres a movie that stars 4 major actors: Jude Law,Clive Owen,Natile Portman and Julia Roberts. All four cast members shine. The most notable performances are Portman and Owen. The story revolves around 4 strangers who lie and cheat on each other. I found the characters to be extremley evil at times, particuarly Owens. He is perhaps one of the biggest assholes I have seen on screen. His character appears to be a mastermind at playing mind games with the other characters, for this I kinda admirded him. I didnt care for him though. I didnt really like any of the characters from the movie actually since they werent faithfull to each other, they were all very trashy people.
This doesnt mean that I disliked the movie, not by any means of the imagination. I loved all of the performances. I found the dialogue to be often great, but at times too sexual. The ironic thing about this movie was that there was a lot of talk about sex,but NO SEX scenes, not even one! Not that its a bad thing, but you would think it would have contained at least one.
Overall this movie is recomended. Yes it's a bit of a chick flick, but that didnt stop me form enjoying the story and the amazing characters.

Halloween
Best horror movie ever! Evil never dies. Micheal Myers just keeps going and going. The classic tale of the Babysiter Murders, which was by the way the orginal title of the film but one of the producers wanted it changed beacuse interesting enough the word Halloween had never been used as a movie title before. I love this movie so much!. I have seen it countless amount of times. It has in my opinion one of the best death scenes ever! Of course I'm refering to the opening scene. Through the eyes of Micheal Myers, brillant!

Dr. Sam Loomis: I met him, fifteen years ago. I was told there was nothing left. No reason, no conscience, no understanding; even the most rudimentary sense of life or death, good or evil, right or wrong. I met this six-year-old child, with this blank, pale, emotionless face and, the blackest eyes... the *devil's* eyes. I spent eight years trying to reach him, and then another seven trying to keep him locked up because I realized what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply... *evil*.

Laurie: It *was* the boogeyman.
Dr. Sam Loomis: As a matter of fact, it was

The Joker: [holding a knife inside Gambol's mouth] Wanna know how I got these scars? My father was... a drinker. And a fiend. And one night he goes off crazier than usual. Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself. He doesn't like that. Not-one-bit. So - me watching - he takes the knife to her, laughing while he does it! Turns to me, and he says, "why so serious, son?" Comes at me with the knife... "Why so serious?" He sticks the blade in my mouth... "Let's put a smile on that face!" And...

Saw V (2008,  R)
Saw V
What is with these Saw films people??? Are they ever going to stop making these?? For how bad they have gotten I certainly hope so. I mean come on! All this is torture porn or a snuff film. Every sequal they try to up the gore. But what they dont realize is that they should be focusing on the plot and the characters. Take a look at the first Saw film. The story was farily orginal, the characters were fine, nothing great, but the movie had one hell of an ending.
I did enjoy some of the kill scenes in this movie. However its not like we havent seen it before! So if youre into that sort of thing:over the top deaths, then go rent this. But if you care at all about interesting characters then go find another movie, clearly this isnt worth your time and money.

The Shining (1980,  R)
The Shining
The perfect horror film! How could you not love this movie!? The movie has everything you need. Great acting by the amazing Jack Nicholson. His performance might seem a little over the top. However thats what the role required....hes a crazy person! How else is he gonna play it. The one thing that I didnt like was Shelly Duvall. I wanted to snap her neck...haha what a stupid ugly bitch! But other than that I loved it. By the way what the hell happened to Danny Lloyd?? He was great in this movie and to my knowledge hasnt been in a movie since, huh go figure. How can one forget the "Heeeeers Johnny!" scene or the dead twins scene. Those are two of the most famous horror scenes in movie history. Kubrick is such a genious! And how the hell was the shot from the model done? You know the part when Jack is looking down at the model of the maze and then transitions to the actors slowly, how the hell. I mean that was one hell of an abtious shot!
If you love horror movies and you dont love this movie then what the hell is wrong with you! You need to get your head examined. Just my opinion...but STILL haha

Jack Torrance: You WERE the caretaker here, Mr. Grady.
Delbert Grady: No sir, YOU are the caretaker. You've always been the caretaker. I ought to know: I've always been here.

ack Torrance: The most terrible nightmare I ever had. It's the most horrible dream I ever had.
Wendy Torrance: It's OK, it's OK now. Really.
Jack Torrance: I dreamed that I, that I killed you and Danny. But I didn't just kill ya. I cut you up in little pieces. Oh my God. I must be losing my mind.

Righteous Kill (2008,  R)
Righteous Kill
I have waited a long time for the collaberation of Al Pacino and Robert De Niro! Sadly this was a dissapointment. Perhaps the best actors in the crime gerne come together for the first "real" time. Yes I know there were both in the movie Heat and The Godfather, but were really only in one scene together. So we waited all these years for this?? The story was kinda cool but nothing specatular about two veteran New York City detectives who hunt for a killer who might be thier own. So the whole movie is pretty predicatble. we know who the killer is the whole damn time. There is nothing specail about this movie at all! Not the writting, the direction, the characters, the killings or even the acting!! Yeah thats right De Niro and Pacino come up with some of thier worst performances I have ever come across, very flat indeed. They looked like washed up olds guys that are about to retire. Its almost like they just made this movie to to shut up the fans or something, because there was no passion put into this film at all! NONE!...

Pride and Glory (2008,  R)
Pride and Glory
I found this movie to be a bit of a a dissapointment. I mean this movie has so many great actors. You got Norton,Farrell, and Jon Voight! Now you would think that after that many amzing actors signed on to this movie it would be uturly fanastic, but noooo! It has a very generic and perdictable storyline. I thought it was very boring at times. The running time was around 2,but it felt more like 3. I hated this movie! Avoid this like hell!

Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992,  R)
Bram Stoker's Dracula
The thing that most impressed with this film was that Francis Ford Coppola used old school magic for this film. That means no green screen or any of that cgi bullshit. You can defentiley tell all the hard work that was put into the sets. It all seemed very surreal to me...amazing kudos to the set design team.

As for the story, what really stood out for me was the decpication of Dracula. In this film he appears to be more chirst like. Not that he is anywhere near Chirst. However he seemed to be the unsung hero of the film. A legend you might say. For which the author of the book,Bram Stoker had origanally intended. For a Dracula film, I have to say its prolubally my favorite. I'm not a huge fan of the character, but this was more interesting to me,the most infamous vampire off all time showed off with some style. What also impressed me was the surreal vibe that it gave off. I mean it really felt like a dream state the whole time I was wacthing it.

The one thing I didnt like about the film all that much was the cast. I think it was a matter of taste for me. I mean Keanu Reeves for me is the defention of dull. He tends to talk more mono tone than anything, could put me to sleep.Oh and Gary Oldman is an interesting actor, but most of his characters are way over the top. I do feel like Johnny Depp would have done a better job with it. Had Francis picked a better cast(I mean we have some great actors here just not my cup of tea with the exception of Ryder) I would have given the film four stars....

Punisher: War Zone
This movie isnt as good as I would have hoped. The action scenes are way over the top with bullets flying everywhere, not to mention blood and gore. Dont get me wrong this is an ction movie and you expect that, but not they way they do it. I flet they could have been done more often and more realistic. But whatever that didnt bug me too much...just thought I would mention it.
The story is about a ruthless hero Frank Castle aka the Punisher. He is out to get mob boss Billy Russoti, who is extermely disfigured by the way. The plot was alright nothing specail. The cast eh..no big stars. Overall its worht a watch for action fans and a bit of an improvment over the other Punisher movies.

Twilight (2008,  PG-13)
Twilight
Ok! I know this might seem crazy but for some reason I enjoyed this movie and I'm not even a fan of the books(havent read them and dont plan on it)! I read in alot of reviews that the chemistry between Bella and Edward was terriable. Well I thought it was fine, sure it might have seemed a little akward, but heres the thing: hes a vampire! No wonder she is gonna feel a little weirded out! You might wonder why they fell in love, well I think partly because he is so mysterious, that atracted her to him. Then theres all the talk that the vampires are fake. Why because they dont drink human blood? Sure I thought it was strange that the Cullen's drank animal blood, but I thought it made the movie more interesting. They all seemed so mysterious which in turn made the story more interesting. I wasnt bored by this movie for a second and absoultely love Kristen Stewart in the role of Bella(she is so hot lol). There were a few characters that got on my nerves like the Dad for example. To me he just seemed like an asswhole, maybe not a huge asswhole ,but never the less he was.
In the end I was surprised by how much I liked this movie. The characters were interesting, the love story was moving, the effects werent bad, the writting wasnt great, but certainly wasnt awful. I was never bored. After seeing the movie I cant say that I'm a fan of the series, just not a hater.

Isabella Swan: Will you tell me the truth?
Edward Cullen: No, probably not.
[Bella turns away slighly angry]
Edward Cullen: I'd rather hear your theories.
Isabella Swan: I have considered radiocative spiders and kryptonite.
Edward Cullen: All superhero stuff right? But what if I'm not the hero? What if I am the bad guy?
Isabella Swan: You're not.
[Edward smiles]

Edward Cullen: I only said it would be better if we weren't friends, not that I didn't want to be.
Isabella Swan: What does that mean?
Edward Cullen: It means if you're smart... you'll stay away from me.
Isabella Swan: Okay, let's say for argument's sake that I'm not smart.

Halloween (2007,  R)
Halloween
Rob Zombie's remake of Halloween is a love it or hate it movie. I was one of those people that loved it! Yes I really enjoyed Zombies take on the charcters. Yes in the begging they all seemed to be white trash. The viewer ight be thinking what the hell, the orginal wasnt like this at all!? Well heres the thing people: this is Rob Zombies's take on the series! He can do whatever he feels like and white trash is just his style. Yes the profanity can get a little over the top,but in a way it makes it more realisic. I mean you would expect the Myers family would have been as vious as Zombie made them appear,it makes more sense now as to why Michael is as messed up as he is. I mean one can argue that you should never give the "shape" a face, but I really enjoyed the back story and is often considered to be the best part of the film beacuse that was missing from the orginal movies. I think that interests the audience. We want to know what goes on in that fucked up head of his and how it got that way. Some of us just want it to be left a msystery,ok I understand that. Thats why this series is getting re-invented.
The second half of the story isnt good, but by no means is it bad. I enjoyed Zombies choice to up the violence in this movie. I mean the first one hardly had any att all. You could argue that less violence helps the first movie(makes it more scary),but for today's audience their is that expectation to up the gore. With movies like: Saw and Hostel, anything short of a blood bath would have been a disapointment. This movie most def does not do that in my opinion. Zombie devilvers!

Dr. Loomis: These eyes will deceive you, they will destroy you. They will take from you, your innocence, your pride, and eventually your soul. These eyes do not see what you and I see. Behind these eyes one finds only blackness, the absence of light, these are of a psychopath.

I just flat out love this moVie! I think that I have seen it around 20 times! Yes its that good. Bale gives his best performance of his carrer as the 27 year old Patrick Bateman. He is such a dork, even if he tries to play it cool. Oh and he is so fucking greedy and doesnt give a shit about anyone, including his finnesse played by the beautiful Reese Witherspoon. His excuse is that he cant take the time off of work. There are sooo many classic one liners in this movie. Makes me laugh every time I watch it. I mean his lines are so chessy its halrious. " I have to return some video tapes" It seems that everything that he learns is from these video tapes that he rents. He goes on killing rampages and idolizes serrial killers as he references several in this movie. Although I found it hysterical that nobody seemed to get his jokes. Most of the time the chareacter seemed serious though and of course a bit of an ass, lol.
There are just way too many good scenes in this movie that its hard to pick a favorite or even a favorite qoute. But I can say that its my favorite movie of all time and gives me my favorite performance out of Bale. Without him the movie wouldnt have worked. Once Leo De Caprio was set to play the role but I'm sure glad he didnt. As good of an actor as he is I very much doubt that he could have pulled off the type of perfomance that Bale did thats for damn sure.

Patrick Bateman: There is an idea of a Patrick Bateman; some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me: only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable... I simply am not there.

Patrick Bateman: I have all the characteristics of a human being: blood, flesh, skin, hair; but not a single, clear, identifiable emotion, except for greed and disgust. Something horrible is happening inside of me and I don't know why. My nightly bloodlust has overflown into my days. I feel lethal, on the verge of frenzy. I think my mask of sanity is about to slip.

Patrick Bateman: Do you know what Ed Gein said about women?
David Van Patten: The maitre 'd at Canal Bar?
Patrick Bateman: No, serial killer, Wisconsin, the '50s.
Craig McDermott: So what did he say?
Patrick Bateman: "When I see a pretty girl walking down the street, I think two things. One part wants me to take her out, talk to her, be real nice and sweet and treat her right."
David Van Patten: And what did the other part think?
Patrick Bateman: "What her head would look like on a stick... ?

Well this seemed to be a movie that alot of people were dissapointed by. Rightfully so since the effects in this movie were so-so and I also felt that the villains are lame. Also the role of venmon in my opinion was clearly mis-casted. I mean Topher Grace?? Eric from that 70's show!? Come on,get real,by no means is this character intidating! What the hell!
I also found the plot to be really corny at times. I mean what the hell was up with the spin moves from Parker? This series has really gone down hill. The really good thing I can say about this movie was that it didnt bore me,but maybe that waas becasue it was so bad I couldnt belive my eyes.

Harry Osborn: [after topping his drink with an olive, Harry realizes that Peter is standing behind him] Would you like a drink? I'm sorry. What was I thinking? Bad for the public image, right, Mr. Key-to-the-City?

Wow this movie is a masterpiece! My eyes were glued to the screen the whole time. The acting, the music, the story..everything was top notch.

This movie was really, really, really bad! There was no character developmen in this movie at all! There wasnt any recongnzable faces neither. The only reason to see this movie is for the action. We get a couple of decent action scenes in here, but its so dark that its hard to tell what the hell is going on! The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008,  PG-13)
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Oh yeah David Fincher has created another masterpiece! This film was often been compared to movies like Forrest Gump and Big Fish. Yeah I can see that because the journey that Benjamin goes on is so epic and spectaluar. There are other simolarites too like the fact that he calls his mother "momma" and they both have disablites and the story covers a vast period of time. As for Big Fish, its similar because well its so damn magical. I mean a story about a boy who ages backwards! How great is that?! I mean I loved it, very original plot. As for the makeup, well I haved mixed emotions. I loved the make-up on Cate and Brad for the most part. But when he was a teenager I wasnt feeling it... He looked more like a Ken doll to me. The performances in this movie were great though. I'm not so sure this is Brad Pitt's best performance but its up there. Some say this movie was too long, well yeah its almost three hours. However I was never bored by this film, it didnt even feel like a 3 hour movie! It was so interesting to see just what Pitt's character would look like. I dont think I have many 3 hour movies that were as enjoyable or as magical as this one! This movie has it all, drama, great love story, a few funny moments, and of course the sad...See this movie!!

Untraceable (2008,  R)
Untraceable
The people who made the movie I think were trying to be orginal. I have a news flash for them: IT ISNT! This movie is a like a rip off of Saw and Fear dot com! Only the death scenes in this are far less scary and gory! Who the hell in this day and age thinks this movie is gonna work?? Not only that but the movie was toatally predicatable. I could tell how the story was going to be unfold by the freaking trailer and thats NEVER a good thing! I hate when trailers do that! Another thing that this film is lackluster in was the villan. How the hell can you expect to make a great thiller without a half way decent villian? Pretty much unknown actor Joseph Cross plays the young serial killer. He doesnt come off as creepy to me,just a nerd that needs a life. His performance has unspiring, flat and dry. Same goes with this film....

Ok the reason I give this movie 3.5 stars is because I felt it was very entertaining! Yes all of the characters were dumber than a pile of rocks, but dont we all expect that at this point? Evry single one of them were young and hot. They seemed to be geting loaded, having sex, etc. Every thing you would expect from a slasher film.
I have always been a fan of the slasher gerne. They are riduculus I will give it that. However that what I like about them,so freaking enjoyable, hardly ever a dull moment. They dont tend to scare me,more humor me ;) One of the most legendary horror icons is back! This film has been labled a remake. Well sorta..Its more like a remake of the first four Fridays. Very little of the first one( only about the first 3 minutes in fact). This time around Jason seemed a hell of alot smarter and low and be hold this fucker can run. This made the character more intimadating to me,not some zombie walking around the woods. He had an ambus plan, ironicly the smartess character in the film....
The kills in this movie were close to surperb. While they were creative and very brual, I just felt that they should have foucused on them longer. It seemed to me that they would only foucus on them for a fraction of a second! Why do that?? The sex scenes were risky too, very graphic for an r-rated film I assure you.
By no means is this a great film. For the most part its just dumb entertainment. I can defentilety see why this isnt everyones cup of tea. But its my cup of tea, I had loads of fun watching all the 20 something get slaughtered ;)

Watchmen
This one of the best things to come out of 2009 so far. Yeah thats right even better than the summer blockbuster. Which for the most part have been shit by the way. Finnaly we get a superhero film with some balls! If you thought The Dark Knight was dark, you havent seen nothing yet. There was nothing that happened in this film that was good. By that I of course mean cheerfull. Of course this movie has a successful premise. The characters alone are enough to carry the film.
My favorite character was the blue guy played by Billy Crudup. He nails it,maybe even oscar worthy. Though I doubt he will get a nomation.I have no complaints with him. The only charater I didnt care for was Patrick Wilson,he just didnt stick with me for some reason. Cant put my finger on it...

The action scenes are waaay over the top. Talk about violent, blood and guts where all over the scenes. I loved that the movie wouldnt let up. Kind of like The Terminator, this movie wont die or stop at nothing. Even the sex scenes are over the top. Unlike any superhero film I have ever scene. Perhaps a bit too long( running time of 3 hours) but its worth it!

Fast and Furious
I was very dissapointed in this movie! I was told from some people that this was the best in the series. Well not in my opinion, far from it in fact! Whats so great about this movie? I found the street racing to be rather boring in this movie. If that sounds crazy, well you may be right, but for me they werent anything specail. I did like the action scenes at the begging and the end,but thats it!! Oh an another thing, nobody in this movie can act! I mean noooo one! And it doesnt help that the script is sooo bad! Man I hated the writting so fucking corny! Who the hell writes this shit! Seriously that screenwriter should be fucking fired! I mean there was nothing new to the series, nothing that poped out at me and made me say:"wow, holy shit that was cool" I was more like: "uh-huh and thats all we get" Oh yeah and um you also get a bunch of hot women who cant act worth shit! Skip this movie people unless you wanna fry your brain!

Campos: So, you know each other?
Dominic Toretto: He used to date my sister.
Campos: You're a lucky man.
Brian O'Conner: How's that?
Campos: You're still breathing!

I Love You, Man (2009,  R)
I Love You, Man
This is a top notch comedy staring the halrious Paul Rudd and Jason Segal. The movie is about a man who is engaged to be married. The problem is that he has no friends,no idea who his best man is going to be. So he is on a mission to find a best man for his weddind. After several falruies he finnaly finds a soul mate. Sandy played by Jason Segal, who is best known for the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall is flat out halrious in this role. I was laughing my ass off in every scene he was in. Wow this movie really surprised me I thought this was gonna be an average comedy! Check this one out people!

Joyce Klaven: Peter always connected better with women.
Zooey: You know, I can see that because he is a great boyfriend.
Peter Klaven: Thank you fiancee.
Oswald Klaven: Also, you got to understand, Zooey, Peter matured sexually at a very early age. I remember taking him swimming when he was twelve-years-old, kid had a bush like a forty-year-old Serbian.
Peter Klaven: Oh come on!

HOLY SHIT! This movie really surprised me! I was expecting to go into an average movie. But boy was I wrong! This movie was so amazing! I was in love with Kirsten Stewarts character..no seriously I think I am..lol. She is so hot and sexy and just flat out amazing in this role!
Ok,ok so you are most likely wondering about the plot. The story takes places back in the late 80's(my favorite decade by the way ;)). College graduate James has found out that his parents can no longer afford to take him to Europe, so now he has to work at an amusemant park over the summer. While he is there he meets some amazing freinds. They like to party and hang out, smoke weed. He meets this stunning girl Em(Stewart) and they really hit it off. He quickly falls for her.Theres of course more to the plot but I'll stop for now.
The music in this movie was phenomenal, it couldnt have been more perfect. The chemisrty between James and Em was amazing, much like a real couple. I could feel the engergy burst off the screen. I really wanted things to work things out. Simply amazing movie, very honest and bold. I would receomend this movie to anyone that loves the 80's and comming of ages comdies. Dont expect this to be laugh out loud funny as SuperBad like the ads say. This movie has a more serious tone, mixed with more subtle elements of comedy. It works brillantly in my opinion. This is now one of my all time favorites! You must see this movie! What the hell are you waiting for! GO SEE IT! At least give th damn thing a rental!

Drag Me to Hell (2009,  PG-13)
Drag Me to Hell
I can honestly say that this was one of my favorite horror films this decade. It ranks up with the Evil Dead films, finally after all of these years Sam Raimi makes another horror movie.I love his style for one thing,Rami makes it seems as he is untentially being funny, however I know he is. I love all the cheese ball gags and you know what I loved the effects. That is a big improvement over the Evil Dead effects.Love it!
Some people have been complaining that the acting in this movie is God-awful! Come on people its not that bad,Alison Lohman was fine in this movie, you could argue that her performance was a bit over the top,but for me that was part of the movies charm. As for Justin Long, I think I love him in all of his roles. While I cant say this was my one of my favorites in this role, its nice to see him in a more dramatic role. The acting was fine maybe cheese to some, but I dont give a shit! I enjoyed it...
This movie is well worth your time, yet might just scare the Hell out of you. It didnt for me,but I have talked to alot of people that said that this was the scariest movies they have ever seen. Dont even rent this,go ahead and buy it!
