This movie is so sweet, it makes you sick. Every part of it is so pink and fluffy and the only thing missing are singing animals. Kids are very good, grass is very green, sky oh so blue. Singing nuns are just to much. There are two movies in there, one being the love musical about confused girl who wants to become a nun, but ends up marrying very rich and handsome guy. The other is one about family who fled their beloved country so they would not be the part of Nazi regime. Despite the odds, this combination works rather well, and presence of this gloomy part is what saves entire movie from drowning in sugar. |

Not my favorite Hitchcock. Has a love story that comes out of nowhere, and with no reason. Has some silly dialogs. Bergman, to me, looks like a housewife dressed in borrowed clothes. She agrees to do a heroic deed of which nature she has no clue, and isn't even asking until much later on. There was also something weird, as one of the characters was often referred to as handsome, for no apparent reason?! |
