now, what exactly was Lucas thinking when he made this movie? did he assume that no matter what he had to offer us, that this film would end in success? i honestly dont know. Actually, i dont think it's fair to judge him like that. Prequels are a tricky thing to perfect, let alone make even the least bit entertaining. Lucas wanted a way to start Star Wars from the beginning, a way to show a side of Anikin that we never had the chance to see. As we watched him fight for the Dark Side, hoping that the idea of making 3 prequles to the saga all about his awakening and transformation into the ruthless Vader was a dream come true for many excited fans. As soon as the opening credits rolled the sold out theater had cheered and screamed there heads off. But when the end credits rolled, the excited had faded with the lonely sounds of sighs and tears. Such a built-up hype deserved an epic appearence. As to why it was so painful to enjoy, well, let me just say it lacked the following a movie should have: a good plot, decent acting by ALL performers, a purpose, dialouge that tells more than just a story or feable, pointless terms. |
