Tim Burton's Corpse Bride (2005, PG)
My truly favorite dark and depessing cartoon, but fantastic as Tim Burton brings another cool dark animated film to the screen. Corpse Bride was amazing and loved the characters voiced by Johnny Depp and Helena Bohnam Carter. Lovable characters and classic. This movie I missed work for an hour to watch with my beloved husband. I will always remember this one as our favorite movie. R.I.P my brian. :( |

Napoleon Dynamite (2004, PG)
Who would think a nerdy character like Napoleon would be adored by the young audiences of today. With his goofy behavior, and strange antics, Napoleon is the funniest character I have seen in movies. A simple story with corny characters set in the rural small town in Idaho, makes u wonder if there is such people. All in all, I loved the movie, and is a definite fave of mine. |

Little Miss Sunshine (2006, R)
This movie was realistically charming! Wonderful characters, with the foul mouth Grandpa being my favorite played by Alan Arkin, and to which he won for Best Supporting Actor. Just a simple story of a road trip to attend a pageant for their own little Olive, who's talent turns out to be totally hilarious. Wonderfully scripted and potrayed by all fine people. A classic that should have won, but didn't. Great movie to watch. |

El Laberinto del Fauno (Pan's Labyrinth) (2006, R)
Great cinematography with wonderful set design and makeup with the creatures. Original story with some intense scenes due to the sadistic acts of a cruel soldier, and magical moments of mystical creatures. It delivers a beautiful story and is amazingly shot with wonderful set designs. An awesome story, and truly a favorite of mine. The music is also a nice touch as well. |

First Blood (Rambo: First Blood) (1982, R)
All they had to do was leave him alone, but no, they messed with the wrong fella. Sylvester Stallone kicks ass as John Rambo, a Vietnam Vet just passing through town, harassed by a town sheriff which becomes his mistake. Rambo kicks ass as he battles the police force on his own while using his Green Beret skills to survive the cold mountains as what becomes a one man army against the Police force. They cannot stop him at any costs. Great action stunts done by Stallone himself through this great action packed movie. |

Hidalgo (2004, PG-13)
Very adventerous movie! The opening was suprising with the massacre at Wounded Knee, and appalling on why they killed them. But as it advances to his show with the wild west show with Buffalo Bill, it get's more intruiging uo to where he is offered to compete in an Arabian Horserace. That's where the adventure begins and get's more exciting each time. It has it's humor and great action moments, as well as excitement of expectation. A great movie to watch! |

Legend (1985, PG)
Awsome fantasy movie, well done by director Ridley Scott. Set in the most magical place of Legend, is the evil Darkness played brilliantly by Tim Curry, who set's to rule the world by destroying the light and keeping the world in Dark forever. Here comes Jack played by Tom Cruise who set's out to rescue his Lily and to save the planet before it's too late, and with the help of magical elves and fairies. A great movie and a cool soundtrack done by Tangerine Dream. The European version is also well done in the difference of the music score. Loved it! |

Resident Evil (2002, R)
I was excited to see that they made a movie on one of my ultimate favorite games. But I was a little bit dissapointed with the lack of monsters they had in this movie. Other than the zombies, all they showed was few scenes of the mutated dogs and Licker. I wanted to see the mutated sharks, the huge Tarantula, the Hunter, and the Big Monster himelf at the end! Not to forget the Large Snake, but I guess movies will always differ from the games naturally. It was ok. Just needed more monsters in it. |

Resident Evil - Apocalypse (2004, R)
At least we get so see one familiar person, which is Miss Jill Valentine. Quite similar to the sequel of the game. Just loved the Nemesis who chanted the famous words "S.T.A.R.S". At least with this one they tried to stay true to the game similarities, and had some awesome action sequences. For a Die Hard RE Fan, this one was okay for me. ;) |

Friday the 13th (1980, R)
The first of the series, and truly the best one, because of it's original story. Just a typical slasher flick amongst the young counselors of Camp Crystal Lake. A Mother's angry revenge on what turns to be a blood bath. Creepy and Scary. Makes you afraid to go camping. Great classic horror movie. Also not to mention that Kevin Bacon is one of the victims. |
|

Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981, R)
Supposedly set in a different part of Camp Blood, the sequel delivers another creepy installment and this time with Jason seeking revenge for his mom. The same stupid teenagers setting themselves out to be killed, when they should have paid attention to who was missing and such. His hacking scenes and blood and gore were some what frightening, but the classic chase scenes with the Violin theme of having Jason run all over the camp finding the only girl that tries to outsmart him, and manages to get a chainsaw in his arm, get's kicked in the nuts, and falls off the chair. And of all places to hide, she runs to his shack to pull over his mom's sweater and pretend to be her. Well, all in all, it was still a good movie to watch, and I enjoyed this sequel. |

Friday (1995, R)
Now, this was original and well done by Ice Cube. Just a typical day in the hood, with his best pal Smokey, played hilariously done by Chris Tucker! Now, I wonder how it will be to just sit outside your house and see all the adventures in your neighborhood! Hilarious movie, with great supporting actors to make it more funnier. Great soundtrack with the old school music to bring in this perfect hilarious comedy. Just watch it and enjoy! You won't be sorry! |

Once Bitten (1985, PG-13)
When Jim Carrey was a teenager. So funny as he portrays Mark, a virgin that is trying to score with his girlfriend. Only thing is he is unlucky there, until a female Vampire ( Lauren Hutten) sets out her local hunters to track down a virgin in order to keep her eternal beauty. Once Mark is found, she does everything possible to make sure Mark is hers before the deadline. In between, Mark is slowly becoming a Vampire, dressing in black, and sleeping during the day in his chest. So funny and amusing. The hilarious part is when Mark's girlfriend set's his two best friends to check for bite marks that are in an unusual place...lol! SO funny, that scene will have you rolling! A great comedy! |

Hilarious teen comedy on a Secret Admirer letter. How one letter intrigues the mind of Michael ( C.Thomas Howell) who is curious to see who his admirer is and pin points the hot girl in school Debbie. Only thing is Michael needs his best friend Toni to help him out with delivering the letters. Soon, it get's in the wrong hands and causes mayhem. Hilarious and funny and a great 80's favorite. Fred Ward makes a nice addition to this comedy. :) |

Willow (1988, PG)
I enjoyed this fantasy adventure made from Ron Howard and George Lucas. Just a simple tale of Willow that has been appointed to save a baby from an Evil Scorceress. The adventure begins when he meets up with Mad Mordegan ( Val Kilmer) Great funny lines, with lovable characters, especially the Brownies. The CGI lacked some specialtiy, but other than that, it was a fun movie to watch. |

My ultimate favorite movie of all time! Jaws is the best picture that Steven Spielberg directed in my opinion. Talk about a killer shark that terrorizes Amitty Island on the east coast of the Atlantic Ocean. Loved the characters of Roy Scheider as Sheriff Brody and Richard Dreyfuss as the classic Hooper. Great movie! ;) Makes me want to avoid swimmingin the ocean. |

Hilarious comedy with Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall! Prince Akeem is not happy with an arranged marriage, and sets out to NY in QUEENS to find his potential bride. With many hilarious characters portrayed by both Murphy and Hall, this comedy is laugh out loud funny. James Earl Jones is magnificent as the King of Zumanda. Great comedy with beautiful costumes in the beginning of the movie. I love this movie! :) |

Truly funny. Favorite line in the movie with the guy in his mullet hairdo to the greek convenience store owne: "We Greeks invented Democracy! You also invented homo's. Fuck you! You wish...you gotta buy me dinner first!" This movie is a classic on it's own, with great characters and it's wit. Birch can be annoying at times, but she worked well with Buscemi in all the scenes, and Johansson was cool as her sidekick friend. |

What a suspensful and awesome thriller! Director Adrian Lynne directs this amazing thriller that had audiences jumping in the theatres when it was released. Michael Douglas plays a simple business man, happily married with a child, but soon has a one night stand with a woman he couldn't resist played by Glenn Close. What he didn't realize that with that one encounter, his life was going to be turned upside down! Classic movie and Anne Archer is amazing as his perfect wife that is unaware of the turmoil going around her husband. You got to see it! |

Hilarious comedy starring the Griswald family heading out to see Wallyworld in sunny California. Hilariuosly done by Harold Ramis who directed this whacky comedy. A favorite of mine. |

Lara Croft - Tomb Raider (2001, PG-13)
This was one movie I was looking forward to see when it first came out. Being a total Tomb Raider fan, I was expecting to find lots of action and adventure in this movie. The trailers built up to it, but, the story lacked what the game was about. True, I wanted to see her fight some mummies, or do some amazing stunts. But...I was a wee bit dissapointed. It doesn't fail in some cool action sequences, especially with her fight scene in her mansion and the awesome statues that come to life. But other than that, Jolie did a great job as Lara, and she mastered what Lara was and how she looked. Fun movie, though, for the die hard Lara fan! It was cool to see Jon Voight play her dad, also. That was a suprise. |

Amusing somewhat and predictable. |

One of my favorite cool musicals. The fact that John Travolta can sing and dance pretty good with his swing moves, made me fall for the Danny Zuko he played. Just lovable characters all around in this cool rock musical. Olivia Newton John is awesome as Sandy and potrays her as the innocent girl that finally gets to be cool in the end. The HS dance scene is the best with great music numbers. Stockard Channing will always be known as Rizo and she is great as the head of the Pink Ladies. Just a classic and I love it!!! One of my favorite all time movies to watch. |

Heh heh... nothing but non-native actors portraying the native americans in this film. Blue eyed grandfather Trevor Howard famous from Superman portrays Windwalker, the spiritual grandfather back to finish his mission. The only thing I enjoyed was the music which was beautiful and added a touch to this somewhat good movie. A nice story, but not all 100% native american. |

Sideways (2004, R)
Another great movie by Alexander Payne. Wonderfully scripted with great actors to give all their best performances in this hilarious comedy involving the lovers of Wines. Set in the rich countries of the Wine Valleys of California, here comes a story of Miles and Jack, one of the two odd couples that blend so well as buddies. One of Paul Giamatti's best performances alongside Thomas Haden Church as the carefree Jack. Virginia Madsen and Sandro Oh also give great performances in this to die for comedy that will satisfy any wine lovers out there, with a little bit of romance and food. :) Great movie and fun to watch, and brilliantly scripted. Love it. Love it. |

200 Cigarettes (1999, R)
One of the funniest New Years movies! I always watch this every year, just to remind me of how we are all scrambling to get to a party before the midnight rolls in. With an all star cast with a kick ass 80's soundtrack, it all begins with the funny Martha Plimpton that plans a party to which appears no one is going to show and tries to amuse her only guests on why she thinks people hate her. The whacky taxi driver with his life's motto played by Dave Chappelle, giving tactful advice to all his passengers throughout the movie. Then there's the clumsy Kate Hudson paired with the Jay Mohr, the melancholy Paul Rudd with Courtney Love, and many more actors that all bring this hilarious movie to see who will be able to find love before midnight. The ending is classic when Plimpton tired of waiting for people to show, drinks herself into a coma, and misses out on one of the best parties she threw. Its funny and crazy, and I just love this movie! Great to watch during the holidays. |

Mystic River (2003, R)
The beginning was a bit too intense for me being a total hater of child molesters. But it made a chilling opening sequence to one of Clint Eastwood's best of film direction. Mystic River was very powerful with it's story and strong actors potrayed in this movie. Sean Penn was outstanding and emotionally grabbed me as the grieving father trying to deal with the loss of his daughter. His performance drove me to tears at one point. Tim Robbins and Kevin Bacon were also outstanding as well. One of the great dramas that should have won for Best Picture. |

Dawn of the Dead (2004, R)
The gore was awesome and the zombies were more frightening, with awesome make-up. With more people than the original, it was a little bit better, but...they could have been more smarter. There was the guy with all the weapons and with less zombies at the time, they should have gone to get him in the first place instead of waiting at the last minute...The story was not as good as Romero's but I liked it nonetheless. Also was cool that several of the actors from the original all made cameo's in the movie. |

This movie was fun to watch. D.B. Sweeney was simply adorable and Moira Kelly plays such a rich bitch, that the opposites attract keep this movie fun and charming. People all thought this movie was crap and was a dry scipt with no life, but I absolutely adored this BAD movie. Something about it just touched my heart and although it lacked in keeping us guessing, and Bullock's acting was dry as ever, and Connick Jr. was trying too hard to be sentimental and comedic at the same time, I thought Gena Rowland's character was the best. She reminded me of my mother and I think this is why I adored this movie so much. Other than that, the movie has heart, but it should have been done alot better. Too bad for the ratings. But nonetheless, it's a fave of mine. |

Plus he made Sara Connor more stronger, to where she became the "She Rambo". The best of the series!!! I fell in love with Robert Patrick as the new Terminator!!! haha!!! He was a bad ass! |

Friday the 13th - The Final Chapter (1984, R)
So we thought the final chapter. The opening scene where they carry all the bodies from the farm house, is creepy as hell and from the time they leave the area. This time, Jason is supposedly killed, but manages to just get a free ride into the hospital and starts all over of his killing spree. This time heading towards another lake which is packed with a bunch of again horny teenagers and a family next door. With one wannabe hero that tries to help stop Jason, Trish and her little brother Tommy are the last ones again to try to keep Jason from killing them. Little bit more scarier then the rest, in my opinion. The gore was not too bad in this one, and they were creative with some of the death scenes. That was a suprise to have Tommy do the butchering at the end to kill Jason off. Overall, it was my favorite of the 4. Chiller thriller. |
|
| 287 |
Friday the 13th Part 3 (1982, R)
The Classic 3-D one. Not as frightening as the other two, and has taken a different route from the first two. This time, Jason is after this girl he supposedly attacked several years earlier, along with her pals at her lonely ranch house in the knick of the woods. The special effects were cool, but not that gory. But the eye popping one was trippy, and not to mention the one with the arrow through the girls eyes. Just the beginning of the SKi mask here. But I liked it as well. |

Hairspray (2007, PG)
Well, I finally managed to see this movie. At first glance, I thought it was going to be a ridicilous musical...but, I was wrong. It was a very amusing movie with not a bad soundtrack to this suprising remake. John Travolta was hilarious as Edna Turnblad and he had me laughing so much as well as Christopher Walken with his amusing eccentric humor. The movie was great and the actors all were superb and funny. Loved the cameo's by John Waters as the Streaker and Riki Lake as one of the judges. ;) |

I was expecting an awesome movie, but was totally let down by the direction and adapted screenplay. Order of Phoenix was full of anticipation, more action with alot of stunning twists and excitement...to which JK Rowling made sure to keep us readers more on the edge. As for the adapted screenplay to this movie, it sucked! Everything was so compressed, or more like crammed in to try to make each scene work, but it lacked so many important scenes as well as putting them in areas it didn't work. I would have preferred Daniel yelling like Harry to Ron and Hermione as well as Dumbledore, to which he states my most favorite quote: "By all means continue destroying my possessions. I daresay I have too many." But, that's movies for you. Stick to the book! Sound score was terrible to make it even worse. A true let down. I am crossing fingers for the Half Blood Prince and hopes it does not suffer like this one. |

Another great movie by Steven Spielberg. This time, starring the ever wonderful actor Richard Dreyfuss, along with Holly Hunter and John Goodman as wonderful amusing supporting cast. A firefighter movie in the mountains, Dreyfuss portrays a pilot performing dangerous missions to assist with the Firefighters putting out dangerous fires. After a tragic accident, Dreyfuss is left on this earth to linger around his friends and help assist another pilot that is oddly the same as him only younger, played by Brad Johnson. A wonderful romantic comedy, and a tearjerker. Also, a great cameo by Audrey Hepburn herself. One of my favorites. |

But through this chilling tale, it shows that sometimes, not everything you desire is worth losing the ones you love. Great tale, great story, great powerful acting and awesome chiller scenes that make you wanting more, regardless. ( Well at least for me that is! :P) Cool horror film!!! |

Another great teen comedy in the 80's. Jerry Mitchell is the classic HS nerd that works in the local bookstore. Soon, an encounter leaves Jerry left to face Buddy in an afterschool fight at 3:00pm. The school day is long as Jerry tries to get out of this fight! Hilariously done by Casey Siemasko who plays Jerry and Richard Tyson as Buddy. Funny and amusing, and the story was well written. :D |

The movie was a cheesy's 80 flick, but it made me laugh at some parts. ;) Of course the story line was very lame, but it was a cute movie. I was always curious about this movie when I was in HS, but now that I seen it, it was amusing. ;) I miss the 80's. :D Not for everyone, but I liked it pretty much. |

Lucas is a touching story! Corey Haim plays Lucas who meets the new girl ( Kerri Green) that he gets a puppy love crush on. Once the summer days end and Highschool begins, things change and now her attention is directed to the popular football jock played by Charlie Sheen. Winona Ryder is also in this teen love story. :) |

So funny! One of Tom Hank's hilarious comedies! Living next door to freaks, the whole neighborhood is in wonders of their private neighbors that keep them up at night with mysterious noises. Hanks and his nosy neighbors are sure that there is something wrong with their creepy neighbors and at no end will get to the bottom of it. So funny! ;) |
