Fantastic historical and love story about after the American Civil War where a laconic Confederate soldier treks home to his beloved lover. 60
The Cowboys (1972,  PG)
The Cowboys
This is the best John Wayne's latter-day Westerns. He's more like grandfatherhood at his age to a group of young school boys as his drivers in order to get his cattle to market, but the kids learn well. Bruce Dern is on hand as the outlaw leader who fights our hero in one of the genre's most memorable (and violent) scenes since Red River.
Along as a second role model is Roscoe Lee Browne. Possessor of one of the greatest speaking voices in the English speaking world, Browne is the first black man they've ever met. In fact one of the kids uses the "N" word when first meeting him, out of ignorance more than racism. Browne sets them straight by example more than preaching.
The oldest two kids, A Martinez and Robert Carradine, have gone on to some considerable adult careers which they are still enjoying. All the kids are a winning bunch however.

Most quote: "We're burning daylight."

The Craft (1996,  R)
The Craft
A promising marvelous idea and good leading performances are frittered away in a standard special-effects marathon.
65
Crash (1996,  NC-17)
Crash
This is the most controversial film I ever saw, bloody hot of the couples making high sex scenes in the car. Holly Hunter and Deborah Kara Unger make their fantastic performances with sex.
66
Crazy/ Beautiful (2001,  PG-13)
Crazy/ Beautiful
Well-constructed and credibly played characters fuel this high-school romance, which involves a scholastically dedicated Latino guy who loses his academic focus after falling in love with the deeply troubled WASP daughter of a wealthy congressman. The fairy-tale conclusion is a bit too pat, but two leads generate a lot of goodwill along the way.
67
The Crime of Padre Amaro (2002,  R)
The Crime of Padre Amaro
One of the most provocative, captivating and controversial films of the year. An 1875 novel by Portuguese writer Eca de Queiros is updated to modern Mexico, becoming a slick, well-acted melodrama. The film sparked controversy in Mexico for its portrayal of the Catholic church. Impressive.
68

Incredible ripoff of Mad Max 2: Road Warrior and Blade Runner where Jean-Claude Van Damme fights alone against the dangerous and reckless gang in his knife-fighting and martial arts scenes.
74
Cyborg 2 (1993,  R)
Cyborg 2
This is my first-time Angelina Jolie movie in this sequel's ripoff of Max Headroom and Blade Runner. It has few fights are at least watchable, and it features Karen Shepard and that over-acting weirdo Billy Drago as the villain.
75
The Crow (1994,  R)
The Crow
Spectacular dark, gothic and action of a murdered rocker rises from the grave in the guise of a crow. Brandon Lee's last film was excellent in his action-packed than his past movies.
76
Clerks (1994,  R)
Clerks
This Kevin Smith's directorial debut and indie classic is so hilarious about the convenience-store clerk Dante Hicks spends a day in Quick Stop and develops shell shock from sexual revelations by his girlfriend, mopes over the marriage of a high-school flame, plays street hockey on the store rooftop, trades psychobabble with a cynical video-store clerk, and deals with a parade of weird customers.
Gee... plenty of coarse languages! I'm such a fan of Kevin Smith's films.
