1
Ringu ( Ring) (1998,  Unrated)
Ringu ( Ring)
Great movie. I've seen the american version first and so I was a little disapointed but not enough to rate it lower than 5 stars. A scary experience that is very well copied to the ring but still I think the american version was able to explore the story behind the tape better.
2
The Ring (2002,  PG-13)
The Ring
In my opinion, the best horror movie ever. You will experience true terror and fear. Naomi Watts and David Dorfman are brilliant in their perfomances. After have seen it you will not be able to turn your tv on for some time.
3
The Ring Two (2005,  PG-13)
The Ring Two
Not as good as the first one but the story involving samara's birth and the more detailed visual effects as well as the actors performance (wich is again remarkable) makes it worth. Be prepared to get spooked again.
4
Rings (2005,  Unrated)
Rings
For a short movie it's pretty good. Almost as good as the ring and the ring 2. Due to its short lengh it is more intense than a regular movie. Ryan Merriman acts very well as someone who will die in seven days.
5
The Grudge (2004,  PG-13)
The Grudge
Great movie. Very intense fear experience. Only comparable with The Ring. Great cast, american and japanese. The story his very well put together.
Really Good horror movie.
6
The Grudge 2 (2006,  PG-13)
The Grudge 2
this one is years light back comparing it to first movie. Some creepy moments but not really scary. The plot is also poorest and much more confusing. That end doesn't make sense. Why did the girl replaced Kayako?!?!?
7
Chakushin Ari (One Missed Call) (2003,  R)
Chakushin Ari (One Missed Call)
Wow! Those japanese really know how to make horror movies. So many scary moments on the last scenes! Good story. Nice ending.
8
Chakushin ari 2 (One Missed Call 2) (2005,  R)
Chakushin ari 2 (One Missed Call 2)
This sequel to the great sucess that was one missed call is not as good as the original. It could have been if the plot was better developed. In fact, this one differs so much from the first that it hardly seams to be a sequel. Overalls, this is still a great japanese horror flick.
9
Chakushin ari final (One Missed Call Final) (2006,  R)
Chakushin ari final (One Missed Call Final)
This is a great finale to the horror thriology One Missed Call. It may not be as brilliant as the first one but it is better than the second. At least the story is indeed the following to the events of the first movie, which didn't happen in the second.
10
Suicide Club (2002,  Unrated)
Suicide Club
I will not rate this one as a five star movie because of the strange plot it has. The end is really strange and confusing. I didn't understand it. However the movie is preatty good. The concept of a suicide club is interesting for such kind of movie and the gore is also very good. The only things that spoils it is really the twisting ending.
11
The Eye (Gin gwai) (2002,  R)
The Eye (Gin gwai)
Good horror movie. Again the japanese have given prooves that they really know how to make horror movies with a low budget. The cast has also a great performance. Although the visual effects were not realistic enough to be scary by their own, when shown in the right moments they do really do the work.
Only one bad thing: the music of the credits! I know that it had an happy ending but that music seams to be from an japanese cartoon movie, not suited to an horror movie!
12
The Eye 2 (Gin gwai 2) (2004,  R)
The Eye 2 (Gin gwai 2)
In my opinion this movie is by far better than the first one. Although the storyline has nothing to do with the original, it is more watchable. It has a better plot, better audio score, a better cast and more scary moments. But the ultimate difference between this one and The Eye is that it has more drama.
Therefore, this isn't just a horror movie, it is also a decent dramatic ghost story.
Even the cast performances are good and solid, the leading actress Qi Shu made an outstanding job.
The movie only has two flaws. The first is on the hospital rooftop scene, come on, even a ghost can't save a person from TWO falls from that hight! That's just stupid. The second is the directors' choice on how the ghosts reencarnate on the babies. We can easly see that the ghost is a person swimming! That's weird and stupid.
13
Cinderella (2006,  G)
Cinderella
This movie is awsome! It may in the category of horror but it is also a great piece of drama. The plot is intese at the action has some creepy moments but, the only reason why I don't rate it 5 stars it's because it is a little confusing and hard to follow. But it is really an brilliant movie.
14
Gabal (The Wig) (Scary Hair) (2005,  Unrated)
Gabal (The Wig) (Scary Hair)
This movie is classified as a horror movie but it only causes you to jump in your seat a few times. At first sight, a cursed wig sounds ridicullous, especially when you see it climbing stairs (lol). However, the story behind the wig makes sense and therefore the movie is not so silly as it could had been.
But I really liked the movie because it is a very sad story. For one reason or another, all characters are unhappy and miserable. You can feel real sorrow for the two main characters...
15
2 wol 29 il (February 29: 4 Horror Tales) (2006,  Unrated)
16
Janghwa, Hongryeon (A Tale of Two Sisters) (2003,  R)
Janghwa, Hongryeon (A Tale of Two Sisters)
A great film, with a brilliant plot. The end is amazing, the only true moment that makes sense. Although it may be difficult to understand what is reality and delusion, past and present it's the end that makes everything to connect. To really enjoy the movie in its plenitude you should see it more than once.
17
Inhyeongsa (The Doll Master) (2004,  Unrated)
Inhyeongsa (The Doll Master)
Good story, although the story could be better explored. The dolls are actually creepy and the deaths scenes are ok. Plus, it has some hillarious moments provided by some characters. Good asian horror movie. (I felt sorry for the little girl in a red dress :( )
18
Infection (2007,  Unrated)
Infection
Not exactly a horror movie that keeps you awake at night. It may be from the same creators of The Ring, Grudge or Dark Water but it isn't for sure a scary movie. More liked to be a funny, strange and dark one. I gave some good laughs watching it. However, what make it a good movie is the series of twists in the end. They happen one after the other, making it a little hard to follow.
19
Gau ngao gau (Dog Bite Dog) (2006,  Unrated)
Gau ngao gau (Dog Bite Dog)
One of those movies with too much violence but it also has an excllent plot. Good drama movie.
20
Battle Royale (Batoru Rowaiaru) (2001,  Unrated)
Battle Royale (Batoru Rowaiaru)
Cool movie. I also think that todays youth are disrespectful. However, killing each other in a stupid game is not the solution. This movie also points out how far a human being can go to survive.
Overall, the movie has a good concept, in a heird kind of way. I can't wait to see the sequel.
21
Phone (Pon) (2002,  R)
Phone (Pon)
Another great horror movie from South Korea. A great plot with twists all over the place and a good cast performance. The little girl's performance was especially good.
In the beginning the movie is a little confusing and hard to understand what the well is going on, since the story about sex scandles mix up with the ghost story but while the movie unfolds it gets clear and a little predictable what will happen. The the exception of the end, I was pretty suprised with that final twist.
Overall, this is a good horror movie but an even better drama story.
22
Arang (2006,  Unrated)
Arang
Just another asian horror movie. A young ghost girl with long black hair seeking for revenge. The story itself is interesting but its development isn't done in the best way.
The plot is confusing and I only could understand it near the end but the final twist is a smart move. And despite some few scary moments provided by the changes of silence and music the movie isn't scary at all.
Overall Arang is an average horror movie that lacks on inovation and just limits itself by using the same chichés used by previous sucessfull asian horror movies.
23
Cello (Chello hongmijoo ilga salinsagan) (2005,  Unrated)
Cello (Chello hongmijoo ilga salinsagan)
Another good asian horror movie. It's not a good movie because it was great special efffects or awsome creepy moments, wich it does't have, it is a good movie because it was a good story and two very unexpected and interesting twists.
The movie plot is so good that it turns the movie more into a drama than into a horror movie, a normal feature in asian horror movies.
To be a better movie it should have more creepy moments because the rest it sure does have. The end especially is great: first it seams to be tragic, then a twist comes and give us the idea that everything will be ok, but then another twist comes and everything turns out to be horrific again.
Overall it's a good movie with some major flaws (due to the lack of a higher budget) in visual effects and creepyness that don't allow the movie to be perfect.
24
Siwore (Il Mare) (2000,  Unrated)
Siwore (Il Mare)
This is the original movie from which The Lake House was made. Therefore, it is impossible to this be a bad movie, although I prefer The Lake House, with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock.
25
The Lake House (2006,  PG)
The Lake House
Great movie with a passionable love story. Also great performances from Keaunu Reeves and Sandra Bullock (they are a nice screen couple). I truly recommend it...
26
The Matrix (1999,  R)
The Matrix
Execellent movie. It revolutionized the movie industry. what there is more to say. Great action, great special and visual effects, very interesting story, although it can be a little too odd and confusing at first.
27
The Matrix Reloaded (2003,  R)
The Matrix Reloaded
Great sequel but when comparing this one to the others, this one is the poorest but still is an amazing picture. The scene in the highway is just awsome! And the love story between Neo and Trinity is cute.
28
The Matrix Revolutions (2003,  R)
The Matrix Revolutions
The perfect endind for this fine thriology. The battle scenes in Zion are very impressive. The fight Neo vs. Smith is also good. The only sad thing is Trinity death.
29
The Gift (2000,  R)
The Gift
The major quality of this movie is its cast. Some many talent stars together: Cate, Keanu, Giovanni and Hilary give to the film a special touch. The story is interisting but not uncommon. And it is always fun to see Katie Holmes dead. lol
30
Constantine (2005,  R)
Constantine
I like it! It's a similar movie to The Exorcist but much better. That hell was really cool! lol... Besides, it has Keanu Reeves and Rachel Weisz so it had to be a great movie.
31
The Others (2001,  PG-13)
The Others
A Great movie, with a great actress. Nicole's performance was fantistic and the twist in the end is fantastic!
32
Seven (Se7en) (1995,  R)
Seven (Se7en)
This is an excellent movie. One of the best of its kind made in the 90's. Great cast, brilliant performances, an interesting story development and a great finale.
33
Saw (2004,  R)
Saw
The all concept of the movie is brilliant. The feeling of intense horror last troughout the intire movie. The acting by the cast was also pretty good.
34
Saw II (2005,  R)
Saw II
This is one is just a shadow of the first one but still a good movie. It doesn't have half of the tension and mistery that the first one. Very predictable... just by watching its trailer I could see that Amanda has somehow involved in the game, and not just has a player...
35
Saw III (2006,  R)
Saw III
This one was better than saw II, way much better. Better gore, with more tension and a better plot. I loved the way it connects with the other two. The final twist was anwsome. The only bad thing: to many games inside games that made it a little hard to follow in the end.
36
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003,  R)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
I didn't saw the original and so I can't compare them but it is a good movie. It's bloody and full of tension but not scary.
I liked but for what I've heard I was expecting more.
37
Final Destination (2000,  R)
Final Destination
Not really my kind of horror movies but still it manages to entertaining. The story concept is inovating and therefore interesting.
38
Final Destination 2 (2003,  R)
Final Destination 2
Same as the firt one but with even more gore to keep us glued to the screen. I also liked the way the story is related to the first movie.
39
Final Destination 3 (2006,  R)
Final Destination 3
Better than the second one but I still preffer the first one. This one may have more elaborated gore scenes (awsome deaths) but the story could have been better.
40
The Amityville Horror (2005,  R)
The Amityville Horror
It's a good horror movie. Not a masterpice but it fullfils the primary needs of a horror/terror movie fan. The whole cast is very well in their acting, especially Ryan Reynolds.
41
Identity (2003,  R)
Identity
Excellent movie! Thrillhing and exciting action with a story very well put together. It has a twist after the other. Brilliant and unexpected ending!
42
Stir of Echoes (1999,  R)
Stir of Echoes
One more movie with a ghost who didn't "cross over". The tooth scene is very gross. The story's development is very well organized.
43
Night of the Living Dead (1968,  Unrated)
Night of the Living Dead
A great horror movie on its time. A classic that will always inspire directors.
44
Stay Alive (2006,  PG-13)
Stay Alive
Not a very appealing horror movie, except for those who are really addicted to video games. The weakest point of the movie is its story. It should have been more explored.
45
The Skeleton Key (2005,  PG-13)
The Skeleton Key
The story is good but the mistery and suspense moments could be better explored.
46
Underworld (2003,  R)
Underworld
Good vampire movie. Very original.
47
Underworld: Evolution (2006,  R)
Underworld: Evolution
Good movie. So much more intense and emotional than the first one.
48
The Fog (2005,  PG-13)
49
The Sixth Sense (1999,  PG-13)
The Sixth Sense
Not the best horror movie ever but it is for sure one of the top ten. Bruce Willis performance is great only shadowed by his young tallented costar. A good story with a very unexpected end... Just brilliant.
50
Hard Candy (2006,  R)
Hard Candy
Provocative, intense and freaky. Although the story behind Haley could/should be more intense both characters played a great performance.
51
Date Movie (2006,  PG-13)
Date Movie
The scary movies satire mix up with romantic comedies = funny result! What I liked the most was the way how they connected the scenes.
52
Meet the Parents (2000,  PG-13)
Meet the Parents
Sooooooooo funny. Great comedy film. And the cast, well just amazing. Ben Stiller at his best and Robert DeNiro is very well in his role.
53
Meet The Fockers (2004,  PG-13)
Meet The Fockers
This was also one of those moives you just can't stop laughing. Great comedy. Although I think this one is not as funny as the first one.
54
Night at the Museum (2006,  PG)
Night at the Museum
When you have such a good cast, a funny story and a little bit of History joinned together you get a nice comedy and a very entertaining motion picture.
55
The Devil Wears Prada (2006,  PG-13)
The Devil Wears Prada
I love everything about this movie. It's so hillarious. And Meryl Streep's performance is divine. The rest of the cast does pretty well too, especially Emily Blunt.
56
White Chicks (2004,  PG-13)
57
Tim Burton's Corpse Bride (2005,  PG)
Tim Burton's Corpse Bride
Good animated picture is a really good love story. The end is a little sad but suiteble.
58
Shrek (2001,  PG)
Shrek
This is more than an average animated pictured. Everything about it is perfect: the cast, the characters, the plot and, of course, the computer animation.
59
Shrek 2 (2004,  PG)
Shrek 2
Just as good as the first one with a plus: puss in boots, lol.
60
Madagascar (2005,  PG)
Madagascar
A funny and entertaining animated movie with a excellent cast. However, for this kind of movies it would be expected less dead moments, where nothing of interesting or funny is happening.
61
Finding Nemo (2003,  G)
Finding Nemo
My favourite animated movie. The story is sweet and funny, especially Dory.
62
Scooby-Doo (2002,  PG)
Scooby-Doo
The moive is not as good as I expected. The tv series were much better. Although it is still a very funny movie. A good choice of cast.
63
Scooby-Doo 2 - Monsters Unleashed (2004,  PG)
Scooby-Doo 2 - Monsters Unleashed
In my opinion this one was better than the first one. More faithful to the tv show. Although in the first movie there were funnier momments this one worth for its whole. The funny momments are less funnier but they occur often. It's light but more constant.
64
Miss Congeniality (2000,  PG-13)
Miss Congeniality
Simple story but funny as hell. Excellent perfomance from Sandra Bullock.
65
Miss Congeniality 2 - Armed and Fabulous (2005,  PG-13)
Miss Congeniality 2 - Armed and Fabulous
Not as good as the first one. Still a lot of fun but have somes holes left by the absence of Benjamin Bratt. Overall the movie is ok and Sandra Bullock and Regina king made a great screen team.
66
Million Dollar Baby (2004,  PG-13)
Million Dollar Baby
No words can discribe how good and amazing this movie is. It prooved that can be great movies with a small budget, all what is needed is talent. And in this movie there's plenty of tallent. Great cast and excellent story. Made me cry and that's rare. ATENTION: THE MOVIE IS NOT (ONLY) ABOUT BOXING!!!
67
The Notebook (2004,  PG-13)
The Notebook
A sweet, lovely and sad story. Great love tale, one of the best I ever seen. I cried a lot in the end.
68
Big Fish (2003,  PG-13)
Big Fish
Excellent movie with a great cast and the story...well the story is beautiful. It proves that love and imagintion know no boundaries.
69
Life Is Beautiful (La Vita č bella) (1998,  PG-13)
Life Is Beautiful (La Vita č bella)
What amazing movie... just beautiful... and sad. One more prespective movie on the Holocaust and the WWII.
70
War of the Worlds (2005,  PG-13)
War of the Worlds
A better movie than I was expecting. It was well made enough to the point of not being ridiculous. The invasion looks real and. Tom Cruise's performance was ok, but who really was brilliant was Dakota Fanning. That little girl rocks!
71
Terminator 3 - Rise of the Machines (2003,  R)
Terminator 3 - Rise of the Machines
The worst of the three movies. I felt frustated because it took TREE movies to let people realize that Judgement Day was inevitable... Oh, well... still a good movie.
72
Brokeback Mountain (2005,  R)
Brokeback Mountain
A good movie but I really can't understand all the fuss about it. There are so my good movies about homosexual relationships out there that aren't so famous and still they are better than this one.
But I must admit, Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal made a excellent performance and they were very brave when they accept the roles. If this movie would have bad reviews and no acceptance for the general public, their successful careers could have taken a big hit and suffer a lot of damages.
73
Spider-Man (2002,  PG-13)
74
Spider-Man 2 (2004,  PG-13)
75
Pirates of the Caribbean - The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003,  PG-13)
Pirates of the Caribbean - The Curse of the Black Pearl
A delicious adventure where Johnny Depp's performance as Captain Jack Sparrow obviously stands out.
76
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006,  PG-13)
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
It's amazing how this adventure movie manages to be so much better than the first. Funnier, more exciting and emotionally deeper. Even if the plot sucked, which it doesn't, still it would be a very entertaining movie, all thanks to Jack Sparrow's character.
77
Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End (2007,  PG-13)
Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End
I finally got the chance to see this one that I've had longed for so long. However, I must confess mysylf very disapointed with this last chapter of Pirates of the Caribbean thriology. In my viewer opinion, I thought this one was the worst of the three. The movie is too long and the story drags for too long as well. The first really interisting scene only happens when the movie is running already for 18 minutes! And still, until the final battle scene, the plot is repititive and not very interestig.
But I should have seen this coming, after such a great movie as the POC: Dead Man's Chest it was nearly impossible to come up with something that outcome it.
Despite everything, POC: At World's End is still a good film to watch. It has the same old Jack Sparrow strong presence with another brilliant performance from Johnny Depp; it has the usuall outsanding visual and special effects and it has great looking scenarios.
Overall, this last adventure of Captain Jack Sparrow & Inc. could have been better if it had less talking and more action. But still one it is an amazing movie to watch - the final battle scene is just breath taking - but the hardoce POC fan's might get slightly disapointed with it.
78
Dirty Harry (1971,  R)
Dirty Harry
One of the Clint Eastwood's best classics. A good movie for its time but sure not my kind of movie - it just too old for my taste, lol
" Are you feeling lucky, punk?"
79
Bringing Out the Dead (1999,  R)
Bringing Out the Dead
A good story about an paramedic who has lost his passion for the job, since every patiente he tries to help actually ends up dying. A dark movie that becomes very surreal and monotonous. Nicolas Cage performance is the only thing that stands out from the movie.
80
The Butterfly Effect 2 (2006,  R)
The Butterfly Effect 2
This one is a good sequel. But of course it isn't as good as the first one. Pretty much the same thing. However the original had more suspense.
And I didn't like its ending. It's stupid.
81
The Last Samurai (2003,  R)
The Last Samurai
Great epic movie. Great batle scenes. Good love and friendship story. The last great performance of Tom Cruise (since then all his movies are a little crappy).
82
Rocky Balboa (2006,  PG)
Rocky Balboa
A liked Rocky and Rocky IV more but this one was also good. Better than Rocky V that's for sure. In overall: a good final round for Rocky Balboa.
83
The Little Mermaid (1989,  G)
84
The Little Mermaid II - Return to the Sea (2000,  G)
85
The Break-Up (2006,  PG-13)
The Break-Up
This is a decent romantic comedy. Not one of those with which you can't stop laughing but still entertaining enough. Vince Vaugh and Jennifer Aniston made convincing performances in their roles. However, this could have been a better movie if it had a better ending, I get disapointed because I was expecting them to end up together.
86
Wedding Crashers (2005,  R)
Wedding Crashers
With Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn nothing bad could have come. They have a good chemestry on screen an d I don't believe that the movie would have been so hillarious as it was if they didn't had that kind of chemestry.
87
Doragon bôru Z 1: Ora no Gohan wo kaese (Dragon Ball Z: Dead Zone) (1989,  Unrated)
88
Doragon bôru Z: Kono yo de ichiban tsuyoi yatsu (Dragon Ball Z: The Movie - The World's Strongest) (1990,  PG-13)
89
Doragon bôru Z 3: Chikyű marugoto chô kessen (Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might) (1990,  PG)
Doragon bôru Z 3: Chikyű marugoto chô kessen (Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might)
Great movie of Drangon Ball Z. I like them all but I like this one 'cause it is about Goku's twin brother.
90
Doragon bôru Z 4: Super saiyajin da son Gokű (Dragon Ball Z: Lord Slug) (1991,  Unrated)
91
Doragon bôru Z 6: Gekitotsu! Hyakuoku powâ no senshitachi (Dragon Ball Z: Return of Cooler) (1992,  Unrated)
Doragon bôru Z 6: Gekitotsu! Hyakuoku powâ no senshitachi (Dragon Ball Z: Return of Cooler)
I like all the DBZ movies but the tv series are much better.
92
Doragon bôru Z 8: Moetsukiro!! Nessen retsusen-chô gekisen (Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan) (1993,  Unrated)
Doragon bôru Z 8: Moetsukiro!! Nessen retsusen-chô gekisen (Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan)
One of the best Dragon Ball Z movies. This time Goku has to face one of his worst enemies, Broly, another saiyain who is believed to be the legemdary super warrior.
93
Doragon bôru Z 11: Sűpâ senshi gekiha! Katsu no wa ore da (Dragon Ball Z: Bio-Broly) (1994,  Unrated)
Doragon bôru Z 11: Sűpâ senshi gekiha! Katsu no wa ore da (Dragon Ball Z: Bio-Broly)
Broly again. This is still a good Dragon Ball Z movie but not as good as the previous DBZ movies.
This time is Goten and Trucks's job to defeat Broly.
94
Doragon bôru Z: Tatta hitori no saishű kessen - Fręza ni itonda Z senshi Kakarotto no chichi (1990,  Unrated)
Doragon bôru Z: Tatta hitori no saishű kessen - Fręza ni itonda Z senshi Kakarotto no chichi
Another great Drangon Ball Z movie. In this one we get to know Bardock, Goku's father.
This prequel shows us how the planet Vegita was destroyed by Freeza. Also, we get to know where Goku's bravery comes from: his father.
95
Flushed Away (2006,  PG)
Flushed Away
I loved this movie. I can't understand why some people don't like this. It's funny and entertaining, the story is a big adventure and the animation is perfect. Even the music is cool and the cast, well the cast is only composed by top actors such as Hugh Jackman, Kate Winlet and Billy Nighy. But the coolest thing about this one is... the singing slugs --- just perfect.
Overall, this is a great animation picture that should not be missed by anyone.
96
Cruel Intentions (1999,  R)
Cruel Intentions
Good movie with great performances from Ryan Phillippe, Selma Blair and most of all Sarah Michelle Gellar. Her role was amazing and she played it very well. I didn't like so much of Reese Witherspoon performance because it is the only kind of characters that she can play. But she was also ok, within her limited skills, of course.
The movie itself is nothing of such a big deal, just one more (unusual) love triangle. But that don't make it a bad movie.
97
Pulse (2006,  PG-13)
Pulse
I was expectiong more from this one. I can't compare it to the original because I haven't seen Kairo yet but the concept is good and should have been better executed. The whole story behind is cool and original but the story develops so slowly and predictable that I almost fall asleep. The cast isn't bad and the acting was good but the movie lacks on excitment and suspense.
I only liked the end, it was the end of the world as we know it, our technology turn against us.
Now I want to see the original movie to compare the two and hopefully Kairo will be better.
98
White Noise 2: The Light (2007,  PG-13)
White Noise 2: The Light
Not a good as the first one. The story concept is alot diferent. The first one was more "realistic". However this one manages to be more scary. That ghosts who appear from nowhere anytime are pretty creepy. And I didn't like of its ending.
Overall is a watchable horror movie but it isn't even a shadow of the original white noise.
99
Cube 2 - Hypercube (2003,  R)
Cube 2 - Hypercube
I didn't saw the first so I felt a little lost in the beginning of this one because I wasn't aware of the movie's concept.
The story development is interesting and who find yourself fascinated by what happens and trying to figure it out. But that's an impossible task. This is problably the most weird and confusing movie I've seen in many years. It's totally nonsense and unreasonble. I like to figure out and weird movies and find out their logics but this one is just beyond understanding.
The mind behind this movie must be very messed up and twisted.
But I'm still interested on seing the first one. Maybe then I could make more sense of this one.

Gosuto shisutemu (Ghost System) (2002,  Unrated)
Gosuto shisutemu (Ghost System)
This one turned out to be a very disapointing movie. The concept of a computer that brings ghost from the other life to the world of the living people isn't bad at all and is original. At least it's different from what the other japanese horror movies have to offer us. But the problem is that having a good idea isn't enough to make a good horror movie. The movie does not have a good plot, the effects are poor, even a low budget film such this one could have done better, the characters and their background stories aren't explored and neither the process behind the ghost system.
And if all these handicaps weren't enough, the movie fails in its main point: it isnt scary at all, not even a little bit and the "horror" part I problably missed it, lol.
Overall, this is a crapy movie, when it should be creepy. A good idea that was very bad executed. And it surely doesn't deserve the label of horror movie.

Sorum (Goosebumps) (2001,  R)
Sorum (Goosebumps)
Honestly, I don't know quite well what I can say about this one. I don't really can understand in what genre this movie fits. But oe thing is for sure... it is NOT an horror movie. At best, it's a drama with some lines of mystery. The plot is a little confusing and the end tries to put together all the loose ends, but not very well I'm afraid.
Overall, it's a slow paced movie than can be watchable, but no more than once. As a horror movie it's sucks but as a drama it is ok. The best thing about this one: the performances from the leading actors who made a good job in the more intense and dramatic scenes.
102
The Crow (1994,  R)
The Crow
A very dark movie but nok exactly a horror movie. The story is about the typical anti-hero who seeks for revenge of his murderer girlfriend. Despite being done in the early 90's it is still very 80's, with its gothik style.
The movie may not be a masterpice but it sure is entertaining and quite watchable, especially if you are a fan of this kind of movies. Although being dark and depressing, its happy ending contributes of the movie's sucess and therefore it isn't suprising that many consider it a classic from the 90's.
103
A Walk to Remember (2002,  PG)
A Walk to Remember
Another good Nicholas Sparks' novel adaptation to the big screen but not as good as "messenge in a bottle" or "the notebook".
Despite being a little corny and cheesy, the story tells a sweet great love story beteen to very different teens. Even the sad tone settled up by Jamie's cancer fast desappears thanks to the posite way to face life and death, love and faith.
104
The Da Vinci Code (2006,  PG-13)
The Da Vinci Code
I must be one of the few "aliens" in the world that haven't read this Dan Brown best seller novel but that's problably one of the reasons why I enjoy watching the movie. After having heard some less positive reviews and opinions abot the movie, I've realized that I made the right choice, since it's allways better to see a not so brilliant movie first and enjoying it still and only afterwards to read an excellent book. To do the opposite allways ends up to be a disapointment.
But speaking only about the movie, I must admit it isn't a masterpice. The plot develops itself in a slow pace and the puzzles and solved way too fast and really one next to another making it hard to understand. It's weird how a movie can be slow and fast at the same time. But still the story is interesting and watchable. Another downside of this motion picture is the cast performances. They aren't bad but I think Audrey Tauton's wasn't really all that good and even Tom Hanks have already proved us in many ocasions that he can do better.
Overall, the movie is not bad but it is bellow the expectations created after such a big hit that was the novel.

106
Fear (1996,  R)
Fear
I liked this movie more than I was expecting. The story about a romance that becames an obssession isn't new or original but it's allways good to watch, especially if it is as good, thrilling and exciting like this one is.
I don't really like that much of Reese Witherspoon or Mark Wahlberg but they did a good job playing their roles. Actually, Mark does it too well. His cold and evil look gave me the creeps. The rest of the was also good. It's nice to see William Petersen in other rolesthat not as Gil Grimson in CSI.
Overall, FEAR is a decent thriller movie, nicely watchable (apart from the more violent scenes as the headless dog and such) and very entertaining.
107
Save the Last Dance (2001,  PG-13)
Save the Last Dance
I liked this movie very much because it isn't just another teen movie. The story is good, very up-to-date and treats the racism issue on a different prespective from what we are used to see it.
Although being a drama, the movie is also a load of fun and very entertaining, thanks to the hip-hop moves.
The cast did a good job

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005,  PG-13)
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Again, a good Harry Potter movie. I'm not really a fan(atic) of Harry Potter's movies but I found them very amusing and entertaining to say the least. I'm sure than the fans think of this one and of all the other HP movies to be fantastic and authentic masterpices but still I liked the third movie to be better than his one.
109
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004,  PG)
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
I'm not a fan but I can recognize a good movie when I see one and this is one of them. What makes this better than its antecedents is because it has more "darkness".
110
Zhaibian (The Heirloom) (2004,  R)
Zhaibian (The Heirloom)
This movie manage to be ok. It's not a great horror flick because it lacks of more scary scenes. The movie has some creepy moments but not creepy enough to the point of becoming scary. The big four floors house sure does give me the creeps and somehow it isn't understandable how someone would move in to such a place (nomather how desperate they were for somewhere to live) without make some restauration first! And the is one of the low points of the movie.
The story is good and interesting. The asian folklore culture can provide some interesting themes for horror movies and this one which talks about ghost babies was promissing but very badly executed. In fact, the entire movie is a proof that good ideas not allways are put in practice in the best of ways.
Despite the faults on this movie, what I liked the most about it was the final twists in the end. The end was surely the only thing that prevented me from rating the movie even lower. Actually, the end and the story combined were the only things to be faithful to a true assian horror flick.

Mon seung (Diary) (2006,  Unrated)
Mon seung (Diary)
This one has a good argument but I think the main character isn't the only schizophrenic person on the movie. The director problably was not himself when he put this one together. It's almost impossible to separate what is real and what is delusion or what is past and what is present. Apart from this "minor detail", the story is interesting enough to make the movie watchable and the twisty ending works just fine.
Overall, it may not be a masterpice in its genre but still has the quality typical of the asian movie industry.
112
Vital (2005,  R)
Vital
When I think I've seen all kind of crapy movies, a new even crapier comes along to prove me wrong. Really, 1h25 min (credits included) of nonsense rubish. What I thought to be a deep and intense drama turns out to be a pice of bad directting and writting. The movie's atmosphere is dark and heavy (what should be a good thing) but since the plot is almost inexisting it looses the disered effect. Plus, the contant dreaming/fantasy/delusion doesn't help to caught the audience attention or interest.
The only good aspects about this one is Tadanobu Asano's (Hiroshi) acting performance and, of course, the actual dissection scenes and the character's drawings of the human organs.
Other aspect that I didn't like at all as the choice of the leading actress. The one who plays Ryôko is too skinny, annoretic skinny, sickning skinny! and that isn't the kind of beauty that movies should portrait.
I only recommend this one to people who suffer from insomnia and have a strong stomach.
113
Sisily 2km (2004,  Unrated)
Sisily 2km
This one I didn't expect to be su amusing and entertaining. It's not the type of movie you see everyday. It's not a really a horror movie, but it isn't a comedy like Scary Movie either. This is a type of movie that you can't find Hollywood industry. It's rather unic. And it isn't a crappy movie. It has some cool effects, hilarious moments, a good performance by Chang Jung Lim (who also plays in Sex is Zero) and a supringly good story, where not everything is like it seams: the farmers looked like where the good guys fast become the bad guys and the gangsters who were supposed to be the bad guys are in fact the kind ones. And to join the party there is the creepy ghost girl that turns out to be sweet and kind.
Overall, the movie turns out to be suprisingly good, in spite ofall the mess.
114
The Number 23 (2007,  R)
The Number 23
The movie is good but starts with a very slow pace so you might loose the interest if you don't try to stay focused and follow the story. However, as the story unfolds, it starts to get you into trying figuring out the mystery of the 23 number. Which, by the way, I didn't figured out. I know it has something to do with Walter's father but I don't understand why. Oh, well... I guess I will have to watch the movie again, someday.
The cast performance was good. Jim Carrey proved to be a talented actor performing a serious role as a psycho killer.
Overall, The Number 23 is a good psychological thriller with some minor flaws that become ever more little when we get hit by the overwhelming twists in the end.
115
She's the Man (2006,  PG-13)
She's the Man
Another teen movie and that says it almost all. The theme is not new: a girl who pretends to be a guy to gain acess to the guys world and things get complicated when love arise.
The movie has some goofy moments that really can make you laugh but the exageration goes a little to far and things look like too unatural. Besides, although I like Amanda Bynes, I don't think she was the right choice for the role. She is to girly. Her voice wasn't right, her poisture wasn't right and an really don't see how did she could pass for a guy.
And I don't know how people play or see soocer but the real spirit of the game isn't like that - war between teams - come on, of coure there is rivality but not two the point of painting faces like warriors. We're talking about soocer, not american football.
Worst thing: Amanda Byne's scoocer skills are embarrising for those girls/women out there who really do know how to play it.
Best thing: the spider scene. That was really funny, truly hilarious.
Overall, the movie isn't an ok teen movie, with some good laughs but really not a big deal of movie.

APT. (9:56) (2006,  Unrated)
APT. (9:56)
Although interesting in the beginning, it gradually gets more confusing and hard to put together all the pieces of information. I've got the general idea of the movie's plot but there are some details that I didn't fully understand.
And there is also the fact that the entire movie is full of clichés of the asian horror movies hits such as Ringu or Ju-On. And aside from some creepy moments and ghost creepy sounds, the movie isn't scary at all.
118
Dark Tales of Japan (2005,  Unrated)
Dark Tales of Japan
This compilation of dark tales and urban myths of Japan are good... for laughing. Most of them are just stupid and because they are short movies it is impossible to understand what lies within the stories. And the visual effects are so poor that a good laugh is the only good thing that cames from this. I found the first "dark tale" - spiderwoman - just hilarious. The coolest of them all was the last story - presentiment. It almost looked like a death from "Final Destination".
If you are looking for a good horror movie, please DO NOT watch this compilation.
119
Death Note (Desu nôto) (2006,  Unrated)
Death Note (Desu nôto)
I've never read the manga or see the anime series but I liked the movie and it's concept. The mind games are very well plot, both by Light and L. But the most weird thing about the movie is how the main character is actually the bad guy. Sure he starts as the good guy who seeks justice but soon the Death Note turns him into a cruel being, capable of killing innocent people and even his girlfriend just to win the game of minds against L.
But what I really like the most on the movie is the reaper Ryuk, allways eating aples, lol.

Saekjeuk shigong (Sex Is Zero) (2002,  Unrated)
Saekjeuk shigong (Sex Is Zero)
This is like the a South Korean version of the teen movie American Pie, but even more discusting. It sure has some genuine hilarious moments that are conterbalanced byt a serious dramatic turn in the last minutes, when an abortion turns bad.
Overall, it is not better from what can be expected from this kind of movies, but if you are into it, than you may actually enjoy it. I'm not really fond of this sily rubish, (that become even silier because it's on an unknown language) but it is entertainig enouth and worth watching it.

Kaidan shin mimibukuro: Gekijô-ban - Yűrei manshon (The Haunted Apartments) (2005,  Unrated)
Kaidan shin mimibukuro: Gekijô-ban - Yűrei manshon (The Haunted Apartments)
This horror movie may not have any genuine scary moments, apart from some creepy scenes and some good visual effects but, even so it manages to be a good story and a very etertaining movie. Instead of being a strange and bizarre movie as most of the asian horror movies outthere in the market, this one is not confusing or hard to follow. It's quite the opposite. The mistery behind the ghost is very easy to forsee - is quite obvious that the girl had died in the apartment by her father's hands - but that finale I have to confess that really surprised me. That little twist in the end is simple and it works fine, which contributes to the sucess of the movie.
Overall, the moive worths more for its story and funny scenes (such as the scene where the neighbours go crazy and act like zombies) than for its "horrorness", but it's still a very entertaining and worth seen movie.
122
Sei mong se jun (Ab-normal Beauty) (2004,  R)
Sei mong se jun (Ab-normal Beauty)
The movie could have been so much better if the pices of the plot were put together in a better way.
It has some very disturbing moments of violence and the main character's artistic atraction to death is chilling but the event from her past appears to be somehow disconected from the main subject of the movie.
The end is predictable, especially if you really pay attention to the details: the moments that seams irrelevant to the story are ALWAYS the key to the mistery.
Overall, Ab-Normal Beauty is a regular horror movie without a particular brilliant moment. But what I liked the most about it was its amazing score. The movie's music is just brilliant. It can turn a rather dull horror movie into an exciting and intense one.
123
Haneul Jeongwon (Garden of Heaven) (2003,  Unrated)
Haneul Jeongwon (Garden of Heaven)
This is a very slow romantic/drama movie. The hole movie goes around a very strange couple (he is a doctor and she is a terminal cancer patiente). It could be a better movie if it weren't so slow paced and sad to the point of going to one death to the next one (the little boy's death is really heartbreaking).

Miami Vice (2006,  R)
Miami Vice
What poor excuse for a movie. Almost zero action and a nonsensed plot makes of this one really bad movie.
125
Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005,  PG-13)
Mr. & Mrs. Smith
I finally got the chance to see this one after everything I've heard about it.
I really don't understand all the fuss that was around it when it was released. In my opinion it is just a regular spy action movie with some aamusing scenes of a unusual couple with unusual ways of working their marriage problems out.
Besides that, what comes to acting performances Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie made a good job, even if the parts didn't demand a great deal of them.
126
Diecovery (2003,  Unrated)
Diecovery
Please, if you are a asian horror movie fan DO NOT SEE this one. I understand that the Vietnamese movie industry (especially the horror genre) is still very "primitive" (and I'm being generous) and the quality is not the best one can get when the budget is small but still... With a bit more of effort this one could have become a better film.
The whole movie sucks... the setting is poor, the story is dubious, the performances aren't all that great either and the "scary moments" are ridiculous.
The whole movie only has two good things: the folklore around the snake, which I believe it's typically vietnamese and, believe or not, the death scenes (they are very cool, very Final Destination style). The two things are the only reason why I rate the movie with one full star.
127
Three...Extremes (Saam gaang yi) (2005,  R)
Three...Extremes (Saam gaang yi)
All three short films are quite good. The stories are not connected but they share a common thing: they all talk about human cruelty.
The movie that I liked the most was the japanese one, "Box". It is kind of slow and the visual effects are very poor, but the creepyness is there and so is the drama, allways behind the female lead - a worldwide famous feature of the asian, and more particularly, the japanese horror movies. But the best thing about "Box" is its twist in the end, just amazing.
"Dumplings", the chinese movie has a weak plot but its strong point is the sick and discusting concept and images of normal people actually eating dead babies meat and "juicies" in order to reverse the aging process.
The south korean movie "Cut" has plenty of blood and some major gorey images such the cut off of the fingers or the bite of the neck in the end but still not a big deal if you are used to gore movies. However, it actually works out quite fine because of the tension that builds up during the all hostage situation. "Cut" is the same kind of movie as the horror hit "Saw", only shorter and not as good, of course.
Overall, "Three...Extremes" is a good asian horror movie compilation that I recommend to everyone a good movie.

A good korean romantic comedy. The female character provides such hilarious moments. However, the plot is full of clichés and that makes the movie a little bit silly sometimes.

Redeu-ai (Redeye)
A decent south korean horror movie. The special effects aren't all that bad and the dark and creepy environment is by far the best thing the movie has to offer. I ghost train isn't exactly an original idea but still works quite good.
The biggest downside of the movie is really its plot. You will keep yourself busy trying to understand what is reality and what is supernatural, what is past and what is present, who are the real people and who are the ghosts. This kind of puzzling plots are a characteristic feature of asian horror movies and I tend to like it but with this one is different because I didn't figure it all out in the end like I usually do. Apart from that, the movie is quite ok and watchable.

The tittle says it all. The movie starts sad and ends with you crying your eyes out. But it is for sure a very powerfull south korean dramatic movie.

High School Musical (2006,  Unrated)
High School Musical
I'm not a fan of musicals and therefore I could never rate this one as a five stars movie. Despite that, this is actually quite good. Of course it can't be compared to a Chigaco, Moulin Rouge or a Phantom of the Opera but still it manages to be an ok musical. The musics are good and the coreographys work quite right.
Overall, High School Music only have one major low point: it's a teen flick, and even worse, it's a Disney's teen flick.
141
The Simpsons Movie (2007,  PG-13)
The Simpsons Movie
You have to love the craziest and disfunctional family in the world. A great movie that doesn't fall behind from the tv series. The refreshed 2D style is awsome and everything that is good on the tv is even better on the big screen.
The fans will not be disapointed and laughs are garenteed throughout the whole movie.
It's surely one of the best animated movies of the year.
142
Speed (1994,  R)
Speed
A classic action movie. One of the best of the 90's. It is amusing and fun. It gathers together action, drama, romance and even comedy. In the right amounts. Keeanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock bring beauty and talent to a very exciting movie.

Ratatouille (2007,  G)
Ratatouille
Another movie from Pixar, another wonder of animation movies. The movie is funny and entertaining and surely has an original plotline. And again Pixar has outdone itself. The animation is just perfect. You almost can "feel" the magic of Paris with its bright lights. Besides that, you have Remy, the amazing "Little Chef" that is the cutiest little rat I've ever seen ;)
Overall, Ratatouille is a 5 star animated motion picture that should be seen not just by kids.

146
Premonition (2007,  PG-13)
Premonition
Not a masterpice but still a pretty good movie. The plot is interisting enough and Sandra Bullock's performance is definitly the major quality of the movie. The movie's atmosphere is dramatic and depressive but effective.
As the end aproaches the once incoherent puzze begins to make perfectly sense (thanks God) but in the end of the movie who can't avoid feeling a little desapointed.
147
Saw IV (2007,  R)
Saw IV
More of the same. Pluzzes, a plot that aparently makes no sense, bizzarre traps, lots of blood and people dieing and a good twist in the end, obviously.
In my opinion this one was a little like the second. It has too many people/victms involved. And worse, some of them were already present on previous movies. It could be a good thing if you had watched the four movies in arrow. Not when the events of the previous movies aren't as fresh as they should be in your mind. Then there's the poor attempt of showing us how Jigsaw became who he is. Overall, what could have been a decent sequel, turns out in the end not to be decent at all. Because we all knew that Riggs (the swat cop) would follow right into the trap. That was a twist that didn't work. And the characters, they all knew Jigsaw's ways, they were all policemen or FBI agents or whatever investigation the case from the beginning. But they were all dumb enough to fall into the traps, like that female FBI agent. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that the movie lost the element of surprise that the SOME of the others had. The twist in the end would have been good if it made sense. Maybe that is something to be "explained" on the fith movie of the franchise but still, I has hoping for something better.
Saw IV isn't a total crap but it is still a big desapointment.

The Reaping (2007,  R)
The Reaping
I was a little desapointed with this one. The story is interesting enough for you to keep following but not as exciting as it should have been. In fact, the slow pace is the greatest flaw of the movie, only compensated by an always solid performance from Hilary Swank.
Yet, the slow and boring story unfolding speeds up considerably in the end with a awsome display of biblical plagues and with its share of decent twists.
Overall, The Reaping is not a masterpice of mistery and suspense but it is good enough to make you jump a few times in your seat.

Ringu 0 (2000,  Unrated)

Ju-on: The Grudge (Ju-on 3) (2003,  R)
Ju-on: The Grudge (Ju-on 3)
I saw the american remake before this one and therefore it isn't as scary as it would be if I didn't saw The Grudge first. The comparison is inevitable but the two movies are the same and different at the same time. Ju On may not have Sarah Michelle Geller as leading actress, and it may not have the fancy visual effects that its remake has but it has still to offer a good storytelling experience and an excellent creepy environment, with the sound climaxes perfectly in sync. Storywise, the two movies aren't different, with some slighty differences in some scenes. The Grudge focus more on the story of the original family of the house but Ju On focuses more on the different characters events.
Overall, I prefered The Grudge to Ju On but Ju On is also better in some aspects (a simple plot and a better bridge to the sequel). The ideal was to have the best elements of both movies put together.
156
Stephen King's Desperation (2006,  R)
Stephen King's Desperation
I wasn't aware that this was a tv adaptation of a Stephen King's novel when I watched it but it sure didn't looked like one. Its quality is better than many movies made for the theaters out there. I haven't read the novel but the plot was good.
The concept is good but the story behind the evil identity "Tak" is not very well explained and that makes some understanding of the events a little impossible.
On the positive side, Desperation offers us a desolated and creepy atmosphere which contributes to the development of high tension. Plus, the cast was well chosen. I liked especially of the performance of the young actor Shane Haboucha.

159
Audition (Ôdishon) (1999,  R)
Audition (Ôdishon)
Not quite as good as I was expecting. Sure it is a decent Japanese thriller/horror movie but you may lost interest in it soon after you start watching it, at least if you aren't an experienced watcher of horror japanese flicks. The movie has almost two hours of length and you have to wait almost a full hour to see something really interesting. I know that the slow pace is a featured often used to build up the tension but this one took that "rule" a little bit too far.
The second half of the movie, however, is totally crazy, in a good way. The true bizarre nature of Asami is finally revealed and the gore and horror is amazing. If you think Saw is difficult to watch, try watching Audition, you are in for a shocking but pleasant surprise.
Overall, Audition has proven to be a milestone movie in its genre but its slow paced plot development takes a huge hit on its rating.

Saam gaang (3 Extremes II) (Three Extremes 2) (2003,  R)
Saam gaang (3 Extremes II) (Three Extremes 2)
This second compilation of asian short horror movies hasn't the quality of the first one.
Memories (Korea): 3 stars -- although a little boring and incoherent at first, it has some scares to offer and in the end all makes sense. Plus, it has some cool gore scenes.
The Wheel (Thailand): half star -- The story has nothing to offer, just a chain of deaths, that aren't even creepy, caused by cursed puppets. The movie could have benifit with its simple plot but the lack of mistery or suspense and the weird ending doesn't add any quality to the movie. Plus, for the viewer that doesn't fully know the folklore and beliefs of Thailandese people, like myself, hardly will find any interest on the movie.
Going Home (Hong Kong): 2 and a half stars -- It starts slow but the story reveals itself interesting and the end is surprisingly good. It only fails to be better because it has no gore or creepy scenes.

Resident Evil: Extinction (2007,  R)

Fracture (2007,  R)
Fracture
A decent and entertaining thriller with some good twists and a solid plot.
But the major quality of this movie is the performances by Ryan Gosling and Anthony Hopkins. Gosling was a good surprise and Hopkins delivered another of his wonderfull performences. He just can't act bad, can he?
Overall Fracture isn't a masterpiece of it's genre but it worths being seen, even if just for Anthony Hopkins's performance.

Wicked City (Yôjű toshi) (1993,  Unrated)
Wicked City (Yôjű toshi)
An excellent anime movie. The animstion is amazing, considering it's a movie made in 1987 - 1993 is the year of publication in the US.
The story is not so good,it's predictable and full of not very original motives and themes. Then again, I can't expect to much from a movie that fits on the hentai category. However, it can be shocking, not much for the sex scenes that are rather soft, but more because of it's highly graphic violent scenes.

Monster-in-Law (2005,  PG-13)
Monster-in-Law
This movie may not be a five stars comedy but it has its moments. The story is simple but very earth-to-earth.
The best about this movie is the cast and its great performances, especially by Jane Fonda and Wanda Sykes. Both of them are very funny. Jennifer Lopez's performance is ok but far away from Jane Fonda's brilliantism.
179
Robots (2005,  PG)
Robots
I had low expectations about this one and that's why I found it suprisingly good. Technically the movie is perfect (even better than some other animated movies more recent), its plot is original (usually animated films are with people or animals), the dialogues and scenes are hilarious, especially those where Robin William's robot character comes in, and there arenot "dead" moments, is allways something relevant and/or funny happening.
Overall, the movie is nearly perfect and I just can't understand why it is so underestimated and underrated.
180
Vampire Hunter D (Banpaia hantâ D) (1985,  Unrated)
Vampire Hunter D (Banpaia hantâ D)
It may not have the brilliantism of its sequel (Vampire Hunter D:Bloodlust) in the terms of animation, which isn't surprising considering that the first one was made on 1985 and the second one just recently (2006) but storywise the older movie is better, D is more "human", shows feelings and speaks more than just one line or two.
181
Highlander: The Search for Vengeance (2007,  Unrated)
Highlander: The Search for Vengeance
If you're looking for some high quality anime movie, you have found it. The story isn't not original but you will liked it if you're a fan of the Highlander saga. But the best feature about this one is its technical and artistic aspect. Really superb animation.
182
Vampire Hunter D - Bloodlust (2001,  R)
Vampire Hunter D - Bloodlust
The story isn't up to the animation's quality high standarts that the movie presents but it's still good enough to be worth watching.
183
Atonement (2007,  R)
Atonement
A good drama/romance movie but not quite good enough to be a masterpice. There is nothing wrong with it but the part where Robbie is in France during WWII, the movie's pace is to slow and nonsense (although that is understandeble, considering the fact that he is delusional). But what makes the movie better than many other rubbish out there is stunning ending.

Surf's Up (2007,  PG)
Surf's Up
This one is technically perfect but it has some flaws in what comes to the plot and the comic scenes. It has some hilarious scenes and the ideia of a documentary is pretty cool for an animation film but still there is something missing in the movie to make it a perfect one. I'm just not sure of what it is.
190
Kumo no mukô, yakusoku no basho (The Place Promised in Our Early Days) (2004,  Unrated)

Transformers (2007,  PG-13)
Transformers
I finally brought myself to watch this movie. Considering that this is a action movie, it actually is pretty good. Ok, the story isn't mindblowing or anything, but no one would ever expect that from this movie. As expected, Michael Bay delivered another great action movie, with plenty of CGI effects, explosions and battle scenes. The story, uh... well, lets just say that the typicall american acidental hero played by a teenager is just another Hollywood clichč. But still, Shia LaBeouf suprised me with is brilliant performance.
But what I like the most was the comic scenes and lines mostly said by the boys's parents, the boy himself and the Autobots. The movie soundtrack is also quite good.
Anyway, it was nice to hear the familiar voice of Optimus Prime. Brought me back some good memories of my childwood.
Overall, the movie is quite good. I can't point out any really bad aspect about it but still I don't think the movie deserves a 5 star rating.

The Lion King (1994,  G)
The Lion King
It has been such a long time since I last see this one that I almost forgot how awsome the movie is. A milestone on animation movies' History and one of the best of Disney. It has a great story, an amazing soundtrack and it has an outstanding beauty, especially the colours.
This is one movie that should be watch over and over again.

Rurôni Kenshin: Seisô hen, (Samurai X: Reflection) (2001,  Unrated)
Rurôni Kenshin: Seisô hen, (Samurai X: Reflection)
This final OVA is visually as good as the others but storywise it's more dramatic and even cheesely lame, most of the times. A truly sad and romantic anime movie recommended to all anime lovers but especially to the fans of the TV show or manga.
196
I Am Legend (2007,  PG-13)
I Am Legend
If you're a Will Smith like I am the you will like this movie. But my award for best performance will be to the canine actor. That German Shepard sure was cute, I felt very sad when Sam died.
The story isn't bad and the CGI effects weren't that bad either. But one thing is bugging me: didn't the creature that was trying to break through the glass seemed to be after something else than food? Let's say, his female mate that was being used to test the vacine? Oh, well. I guess I'll never know.

Gosh, this one made me feel glad for not being an American or at least for not living there. My country's health system is far from perfect but it sure is better than the american one. It is amazingly shameful how the most powerful country in the world can't provide to its own people such a basic need -- free health care. Here in Portugal, we have the so called "socialized medicine". Sure there are major lists for cirurgical operations and croweded emergencies rooms where who have to waits longs hours (depending on the emergency level, of course) but at least we don't take the risk of losing one hand or even dying just because we aren't insuranced or it does not cover our condition. It's far better to have to pay high taxes and in exchange to have a free healthcare system than to the american way.
207
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007,  PG-13)
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Another good movie from the Harry Potter saga. The darkest of them all so far, and also the most boring. Only in the end things become more interesting, with that great battle scene and Sirius Black death.
An good movie, but not my favourite.
208
Juno (2007,  PG-13)
Juno
This is a great movie. The plot is good, the dialogues are hilarious, at the same time that are dramatic or romantic and it's a movie well paced. And the cast, well, it couldn't be better. Ellen Page acting was awsome, as it usually does and the other cast members did well too.
Overall, Juno is a light-hearted and amusing movie that aproach some serious issues in a fun and pratical way.

PS: The scene with the sonogram is the best.

The Devil's Advocate
Great performance by Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino. Great story and an excellent lawer's movie. And the supernatural touch looks great.
This is really one of my favourite movies with Keanu Reeves but I would put it in the horror genre.

28 Days Later (2003,  R)
28 Days Later
First of all, I'm not a fan of zombie movies. Still, this one seamed to be good enough to be worth watching. And I wasn't wrong. Apart from the fact that the zombies were pathetic and not scary at all, it's the apocalipitc atmosphere that gives the film something worth watching.
The actors's performance is good but nothing out of the ordinary. The story was quite good considering as far as one can go in this genre of movies but it's pretty perdictable right from the start until the very last scene.
215
Spider-Man 3 (2007,  PG-13)
Spider-Man 3
If I could I would rate this one 6 stars! The best from all the three. Great story, great performances, excellent never-ending action and with decent drama/romance and even a litte touch of comedy provided by J. K. Simpsons character.
It took me a long time to get the chance to see this but it was worth the waiting. I don't get it, how come someone simple doesn't love it? Even the lengh of the movie could be an issue but the movie is so intense that you aren't aware of the 2h13min of movie.

The hole movie is brilliant but the ending... there are no words to describe it. Morgan Freeman really plays well his role. I've only seen it once and it was by accident but I really like it.
218
Bee Movie (2007,  PG)

A good and entertaining animated movie with good jokes and well technically but it isn't a masterpice. I can't really say what is missing for it to become one but there is "something".
219
Valiant (2005,  G)
Valiant
An good movie in its genre, good animation, a great cast, an original setting for an animation film and some basic funny moments. However, it fails to be a brilliant film. The plot is not the most apealling but there is something more that is missing here but I don't know for sure what it is. But still, a good film to watch.

One Missed Call (2008,  PG-13)
One Missed Call
Another poor remake of a brilliant japanese horror movie. A person who never saw Chakushin Ari (One Missed Call) will problably like this one, or at least not totally deslike it. But for those who were fortunate enough to watch it, like I was, those people will get very disapointed.
The movie's story is basically the same as the japanese version but there were new elemente added such as the visions and the disformed faces (who looked more like the puppet from saw) that didn't improve the movie's quality. And the ringtone, a key element to increase the movie's creepiness, it doesn't have the same impact in the audience as the one from Chakushin Ari.
Despite all of these flaws the worst one is the lenght of the movie. Chakishin Ari's lenght is 1h48 min and One Missed Call has only 1h15 (+/-). There is almost 45 minutes of difference between them. The US version may have a faster pace but the Japanese longer version spents that time building up the tension and creating a creepier and spookier atmosphere.
Overall, One Missed Call isn't a bad movie, it just has not even nearly half the quality of the Japanese horror masterpiece.

P.S. I Love You
I love this one! Maybe I'm overestimating the movie's quality but it really surprised me, in a good way. I don't usually fall for every kind of romance/drama movies but this one is different because it will make you laugh and cry almost at the same time. Besides, to have experienced and talented actors increases a lot a movie's quality level.

I just saw this one recently and I realized that I had seen it once before but I totally had forgotten! I can it be possible? How can one forget such a great movie?!?! Problably because I was only 13-14 back when I first saw it in 1999-2000. I didn't had the necessary maturity to fully understand the movie's complexity and true nature.
Watching it now comes with no surprises. I already knew the twist but yet I enjoyed noticing the many clues that were left behind (they were so many) and everything else - screenplay, plot, directing, acting - just brilliant.
Overall, this is a great movie that should be seen more than once.

Death at a Funeral
This is freaking hilarious! These british guys sure know how to make a great comedy without needing to use stupid clichés or dirty jokes.

This is one more great animation film, at least technically. The visuals are just perfect. The storyline, however isn't that great. But again, futuristic sci-fi can't offer much more than the old "machines destrying manking" theme. Even though the story and dialogues can turn out to be boring you most likely will not get frustrated because you will be busy observing the amazing details of the animation quality.

Donnie Darko (2001,  R)
Donnie Darko
I've read great reviews about this one but the movie is too weird! Only the cast is good. The story goes on in a very, very, very slow pace. That thing of time travelling is so stupid and the end is a little confusing.
314
Waiting (2005,  R)
315
Carver (2008,  R)
Carver
It's a slasher film... So don't expect great acting or a great screenplay. Even the directing is clumsy but if you want to see plenty of blood and other grosse things, this is the right film for you.
In my humble opinon, this one is a better movie than other famous slasher movies as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and others of the same genre.
316

The Blair Witch Project (1999,  R)
The Blair Witch Project
The movie is not scary. It has only two creepy scenes: the one where children start their tends, and when they get out there no one there; and the other is the end. Besides that the movie is only about a group of people who get lost in the woods. One anoying thing: the camera's movements give headhaches...

The Mist (2007,  R)

The bad ending really spoils the movie. It has a good story, a perfect atmosphere and a decent acting. CGI effects could be better though.
Overall, The Mist is a good horror movie but still far away from being a masterpice of the genre.
320
El Orfanato (The Orphanage) (2007,  R)
El Orfanato (The Orphanage)
The only thing missing to this one for it to become a masterpice is a few more scares. A side from that, it's a perfect ghost story. The enviroment is well built, the puzzes, the mistery and the paranormal events are in the right amounts and the acting is pretty solid.
The end is sad and touching, and at the same time that is happy. The twist in the story was well hidden until the last moment and it made perfect sense.
Overall, El Orfanato is an excellent ghost story that only lacks on some more scary moments, although the few ones that exist will truly make you jump, even if you see it coming. A MUST SEE movie.

[Rec]
One of the best horror movie I've seen lately. It has the best features of the so overused zombie movies and also the atmosphere and tension typical in movies such The Blair With Project.
It's boring in the begining but as soon as something weird happens it turns into a hellish nightmare. You'll be in the edge of your seat all the time, if not under it, calling for your mommy ;)
The story is not mindblowing but I love it because the source of the "evil virus" was on some Portuguese girl. Just because of that this spanish horror masterpiece deserves my worship, eh, eh...
Anyway... if you like the genre you will surely love this.

Shrek the Third (Shrek 3) (2007,  PG)
Shrek the Third (Shrek 3)
Although this is still a good movie, when comapered to the previous two it's notorious that its storyline is not very good.
328
Daredevil (2003,  PG-13)
329
Daddy Day Camp (2007,  PG)
330
Taxi (1998,  Unrated)
Taxi
Good french movie. Very funny indeed.
331
Ice Age 2: The Meltdown (2006,  PG)
Ice Age 2: The Meltdown
Visually better than the first one as expected but the story wasn't as touching or as funnier but still it's a great movie. The other great thing this one has better is Scrat, we got to see a lot more of him and is even funnier than before. And if you have the DVD, there is also a short animated movie featuring only Scrat, which is great.
332
Jumper (2008,  PG-13)
Jumper
A fun and entertaining movie. The action scenes and the jump effects are pretty neat but if you're expecting a more complex plot you can forget it.
From this you will only gonna get a bumppy and fun ride ,lol.

Friday the 13th (1980,  R)
334
Horton Hears a Who! (2008,  G)
Horton Hears a Who!
The quality of the animation deserved a better story and a few more funny moments wouldn't hurt either.
Overall, this movie isn't a total failure but it sure got me disapointed.
335
P2 (2007,  R)
P2
This is just one more thriller movie with nothing new to it. But it's still worth watching, Wes Bentley's performance is superb and the gore scenes are cool.
336
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974,  R)
337
If Only (2004,  PG-13)
If Only
It's a sweet and funny romantic comedy with a sad end. The twist in the end is predictable but still works well.
338
Demolition Man (1993,  R)
Demolition Man
An ok movie. It mixes action/comedy/futuristic sci-fiction and even love (stallone and Sandra Bullock as a couple - how heird is that!). I'm curious about those shells... =)
339
Wind Chill (2007,  R)
Wind Chill
This small budget suspense & mistery film is surprisingly good. It may not be a masterpiece but it surely causes the desired effect. Those ghosts were creepy, especially in the begining when you didn't knew where or why were they coming from. But the athosphere is really the bet thing was to offer. Two people stuck in the middle of nowhere with a chilling storm coming with only a wrecked car as shelter. Plus, the cast performance is really good.
The end, although not surprising still manages to pull out decently despite being sad (a happy ending is not what one expect from such movies, right?).
340
The Mummy (1999,  PG-13)
341
The Mummy Returns (2001,  PG-13)
342
Numb (2007,  R)
Numb
The movie is rather slow paced but Mathew Perry's performance is over the top as usual. Even if you are driven to feel the desperation of the main character, a few laughs here and there are likely to happen. And the romantic story within the movie is also very cute.
Overall, it isn't a masterpice but if you are a Mathew Perry fan like I am then you will like this movie.

I, Robot
Good movie that makes you think about the limits of the human invention capacities and the dangerous that come from them.
362
The Terminator (1984,  R)
363
Kingdom of Heaven (2005,  R)
Kingdom of Heaven
I liked it. Not as good as other epic movies but still a good film. Unfortunatly I didn't have the chance of watching it from the beginning and therefore I'm not fully aware of the movie's impact.
364
1408 (2007,  PG-13)
1408
This movie gives a whole new meaning to the word "haunted". A very original story and a good performance by John Cussack are also some of the things you can find by watching this one.
Intense but not at all scary, the movie still manages to keep you on the edge of your seat. However, the ending is a little of a let down.
365
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992,  PG)
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York
More of the same thing. Just as funny and cute as the first one but with a different scenerio. Good sequel.
366
Home Alone 3 (1997,  PG)
Home Alone 3
Just more of the same: a smart kid home alone making some bad guys' s life a living hell. But its not as good as the first snd second.
367
First Sunday (2008,  PG-13)
368
Seed (2007,  Unrated)
369
Lions for Lambs (2007,  R)

Knocked Up (2007,  R)
Knocked Up
I loved this one! It is freaking hilarious and also very sweet.
371
Sleepy Hollow (1999,  R)
Sleepy Hollow
One of my favourite Tim Burton's movies. Great horror/comedy story. This movie is one of those that will stay in my memory for a long long time.
Johnny Depp's acting is also very good.
372
Epic Movie (2007,  PG-13)
Epic Movie
Normally a spoof movie isn't all to great but this one manage to be worse than all the other spoof movies combined. Boring, dull and so not funny.
373
I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry (2007,  PG-13)
I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry
A comedy that provides some good laughs but I was expecting a little bit more from it, considering the quality of the cast.
Best scenes: the rescue of a obese man of a burning building (when they fall down the stairs, rofl ) and the "drop the soup" scene.
374
Boys Don't Cry (1999,  R)
Boys Don't Cry
I know I've already seen it, at least once, however I don't really recall it. And as Hilary Swank fan, I feel obligated to watch it again.
375
The Thing (1982,  R)
The Thing
Cool effects for its time but not the masterpiece most people say it is. But it's still a good movie though.
376
Over the Hedge (2006,  PG)
Over the Hedge
This may not be a masterpice of its genre but it surely is a good movie. Very pleasant to the eye, Over the Hege also has to offer some funny moments and a touching story about friendship. And the cast was also well chosen.
377
Over Her Dead Body (2008,  PG-13)
Over Her Dead Body
Not a great romantic comedy, even Paul Rudd is a little gloomy on this movie. But Eva Longoria will surely make you lagh big time.
378
27 Dresses (2008,  PG-13)
27 Dresses
This may be just one more romantic comedy, with nothing really great or new but it still made laugh in quite a few scenes. And Katherine Heigl proved once again that she's a talented actress.
379
Ed Gein: The Butcher of Plainfield (2007,  R)
380
Baramnan gajok (A Good Lawyer's Wife) (2003,  Unrated)
381
Yu-wol-ui il-gi (Diary of June) (2005,  Unrated)
382
What Happens in Vegas (2008,  PG-13)
383
Monsters, Inc. (2001,  G)
Monsters, Inc.
Very good family movie and another great animation picture by Pixar. Visually not to far from today's quality standarts, even if it's an 2001 movie!
The comedy level on this one may not be to high but it sure is cute. Boo, the little human girl is adorable.
384
Scary Movie 3 (2003,  PG-13)
Scary Movie 3
I liked this one better than the first two because it has the same type of comedy but slighty less discusting. Besides, it's a parody to some of my favourite movies ever.
385
Beneath (2007,  Unrated)
Beneath
A quite decent mystery & suspense movie.
Most of the twists were predictable but a few others worked well. The performances weren't brilliant but the cast still manage to pull this one through.
Overall, it's a good and entertaining movie. Still better than most of the movies of the same genre that have came out lately.
386
Prime (2005,  PG-13)
Prime
I only recommend this to Meryl Streep's fans, like myself. The movie is rather boring and only provides a few laughs here and there, most of them caused by the brilliant performance of Maryl Streep.
387
Fun With Dick and Jane (2005,  PG-13)
Fun With Dick and Jane
Not a great movie but still entertaining enough to be worth watching on a Sunday afternoon.
388
Run Fatboy Run (2007,  PG-13)
Run Fatboy Run
Pretty funny but not one of making you pee in your pants of so much laughter. The plot has no misteries or twists, which aren't expected anyway since this is a comedy movie. But the movie is cute and very entertaining.
389
Untraceable (2008,  R)
Untraceable
The movie is very predictable all the way through but still quite entertaining. The good story and the solid acting performances delivered by the main actors are the best features of this movie. But if you are looking for a mindtwisting movie you can look elsewhere.
390
Aneun yeoja (Someone Special) (A Girl I Know) (2004,  Unrated)
Aneun yeoja (Someone Special) (A Girl I Know)
Another good South Korean romantic comedy/drama. But I've seen better.
391
Secret Window (2004,  PG-13)
Secret Window
This one could have been better if the twist wasn't so predictable. I saw it as soon as that Shooter character came along, which is in the beginning of the movie =P But anyway, the movie was still fun to watch, very enjoyable, thanks to Johnny Depp's brilliant performance, which is no surprise.
392
Awake (2007,  R)
Awake
The movie's plot is original but very predictable. And the acting isn't the best either.
393
The X-Files: I Want to Believe (The X Files 2) (2008,  PG-13)
The X-Files: I Want to Believe (The X Files 2)
Yes, it's true, I was expecting this to be a better movie. The story is a little to much "normal" for an X-Files movie. Unlike the first movie, this one fails to keep non X-Files fans interested and motivated to watch it. But being a true fan myself, it is impossible to me to say this is bad. Sure it could have been better but Im still very happy with it. I have Mulder and Scully back!!! XD
394
Mirrors (2008,  R)
Mirrors
I really liked this one. The rating might be a little high but I couldn't help myself. This movie is scary and has a couple of very impressive gore scenes.
But there are a few inconsistences way to much blunt to be ignored. It's nothing relevant to the story but still hurt the movie. And the final "twist" (if you can call that a twist at all) is way to obvious. You might wonder why the high rate if it was such flaws. I'll tell you why, because it's the first movie in a long time that had me on the edge of my seat and that made my eyes open wide.
While I was watching the movie, I was having the feeling that this movie had the type of horror that I'm used to see in Assian Horror Movies. And guessed what? After visiting IMDb I discovered that this is a remake of a Korean movie - "Into the Mirror" - one tha I must see for sure. If this one is this good, I can only imagine the masterpiece that the original might be!!!
395
Kung Fu Panda (2008,  PG)
Kung Fu Panda
A good animated movie that provides a few laughs and that is very well animated but not a masterpice in what comes to the story.
396
Alvin and the Chipmunks (2007,  PG)
Alvin and the Chipmunks
A cute movie that brought back good memories from my childwood.
397
The Ninth Gate (1999,  R)
The Ninth Gate
This is not a great movie but it has Johnny Depp on it and it was partially filmed in Portugal. Therefore it deserves this rate. XD
398
Disturbia (2007,  PG-13)
Disturbia
It's not a great movie but it's entertaining enough to be worth watching. And the performances were also good.
