The Love Bug (1968,  G)
The Love Bug
My favorite of the Herbie movies. It's a classic and full of fun. It began the saga and stars veteran Disney actor Dean Jones. Jones performs at top of his game and his dry wit and sarcastic humor are in good shape. David Tomlinson makes a great villian and is intstantly recognized by true disney fans (notably for Mary Poppins and Bedknobs and Broomsticks). Buddy Hackett is hilarious as the first believer in Herbie as well as the namer - he adds an extra element of comedic relief in this comedy. Beyond the bounds of the term Classic this is a must see of the Disney films. Excellent in acting and technical areas it is definitely worth the watch. The actual VW bug was tricked out and could really do the things (lift its hood, pour out oil, open doors without the use of humans, etc.) which makes it even more believable since the things Herbie does are real.

Herbie Rides Again (1974,  G)
Herbie Rides Again
Fun and entertaining, yet not as good as the original. Feels more like they wanted a fun sequel because Herbie was popular. Still it has a good cast with Helen Hays and Ken Berry and the classic Disney villian Keenan Wynn. Decent yet more unbelievable than the first. It does establish the character of Herbie more though.

That Darn Cat! (1965,  G)
That Darn Cat!
Clever and hilarious. Dean Jones gives a wonderful performance as the FBI agent and Hayley Mills is spectacular. One of the best live action Disney films.
4
Bedknobs and Broomsticks (1971,  G)
Bedknobs and Broomsticks
Great Walt Disney film with memorable songs and an excellent story. Angela Lansbury and David Tomlinson are wonderful together. The magic in this film is captivating with live/animation crossover and battleling knight armor. It's one of my favorites.
5
Blackbeard's Ghost (1968,  G)
Blackbeard's Ghost
Hilarious film with the classic Peter Ustinov in a great role as the ghost of Captain Blackbeard. Dean Jones adds his talent to the acting and they make a great duo. Suzanne Pleshette, in one of the two three Disney movies she was in with Jones adds her usual spark to it. A fun and inviting story with lots of slapstick as well as subtle humor within dialogue and visuals. Classic Disney and absolutely worth the watch.

The Absent-Minded Professor (1961,  G)
The Absent-Minded Professor
Hilarious, clever and original. Fred MacMurray is great in anything and this is no exception. Classic Disney and it lives up to all that Disney is. Great effects and comedic timing work in the film's favor and it has that classic Disney villian: Alonzo Hawk (who also appeared in the sequel Son of Flubber and the second Herbie - Herbie Rides Again. Set at Medfield College (also home to Merlin Jones and Dexter Riley for you real Disney fans out there) it follows the absent-minded Professor Brainerd who discovers flying rubber (the same night he was supposed to get married - for the third time). Things take off when he realizes he can cause a car to fly or basketball players to literally jump up to the basket. However, trouble arises when his girlfriend begins to see a rival school professor and the only one to believe in his discovery is Alonzo Hawk (out to make money by hook or by crook). The scene where Professor Brainerd is landing his Model-T on the rival professors car is hilarious and the whole film is just humorous moment after humorous moment. Not too mention the fact that the film contains father Ed Wynn and son Keenan Wynn! Smart and stays focused where it needs to. An entertaining and enjoyable film which delivers exactly what it sets out to!
7
The Shaggy D.A. (1976,  G)
The Shaggy D.A.
Not as classic or great as the first - The Shaggy Dog, but still very funny and enjoyable to watch. Dean Jones is good as always and Keenan Wynn does a great job as villian - as always. Tim Conway gives a great comedic performance and the film is fun from start to finish with the pie fight being a highlight.
