Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999,  PG)
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace
Not as good as the originals but I still like it. I just wish they didn't kill Darth Maul in this film. They should have waited till episode three. But overall not bad. I myself am with the group of people who did not like Jar Jar Binks as a character in the film. I don't hate the character but found him not neccessary for the film. Plus I didn't like Qui Jon Jin explanation of the force. But I still watch this film over and over. Sure it has a few flaws but I still enjoy it.
2
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002,  PG)
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones
Episode II is a much better improvement to episode I. I liked episode I but I found this film much more darker. I really enjoyed the Jango Fett character and the Boba Fett origin. Plus the Jango fett and Obi-wan fight scene was great. But I think they killed Jango Fett to early in the series. They should have waited for episode III for his death. Much like episode I should have waited for Darth Maul to die in episode III. Nice to see Yoda get a fight scene in this. They story is good overall and answers some questions for me about how Palpatine got some of his power. Overall a good Star Wars film.
3
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005,  PG-13)
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
Best of the three new Star Wars movies. Answers questions for long time Star Wars fans.Great to see the planet where Chewbacca was from. Great affects and loved the battle scenes between Yoda and Palpatine and Obi-wan and Anakin. Sure I wish Lucas went in a different direction sometimes with the new films but overall I enjoyed them. These films will never compete with the originals but are still well done.
4
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977,  PG)
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope
One of the best Sci-fi movies out there. Still a classic. One of my all time favorites. This was one of the first films I saw as a child. Right from the begining to the end I never have got bored watching this film over and over. From the classic characters Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, R2-D2, C-3PO, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia, Darth Vader have always been some of my favorites since I was a child. This set the bar for future Sci-fi films and how movies are made today. By far George Lucas best directed film. Plus the musical score alone is what helped make the film as well. John Williams in my eyes is the greatest composer for film. Plus the special effects still stand the test of time. One of the best movies ever made.
5
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980,  PG)
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back
This has to be one of the greatest Sci-fi and sequels to film. I always debate with myself if this or a New Hope is my all time favorite Star Wars film. Even though New Hope was the first movie I ever saw as a child I find Empire Strikes back a much better film. A much darker film. The film has action, adventure, romance, tragedy, great characters and great F/X. Han Solo was my favorite all time Star Wars character but with Boba Fett a close second after watching this film as a kid. Plus the villains basically win in the end of this film. I am amazed that George Lucas never let Irvin Kershner direct Return of the Jedi after such a great job on this film. This film will always be one of my all time favorites.
6
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983,  PG)
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi
What a great film to end the Star Wars series with. One of my favorite all time movies. I never get bored watching this film. A classic film. The story and the special effects just got better with this film. Some people never liked the ewoks in this but I didn't mind. Gave some comic relief to the film. I know they have altered the ending to the film a bit since the 80's. But I have both versions so I can watch either one. A great story with great action. A must see. One of the great Sci-fi films and series ever made.
7
The Ewok Adventure (Caravan of Courage) (1984,  G)
The Ewok Adventure (Caravan of Courage)
This is a childhood favorite of mine. The first of two made for television movies of the Ewoks from Return of the Jedi. The story is about a family that crash on Endor and have an adventure with the Ewoks. The story is simple and more for kids than adults. But makes for a good family movie. The F/X is quite good. Not Star Wars good but decent. I still enjoy watching this. You do not have to have seen Star Wars to relate or enjoy this film. Well worth a watch for a family or Star Wars fans.
8
Ewoks: The Battle for Endor (1985,  Unrated)
Ewoks: The Battle for Endor
I liked it as a kid. Kind of campy now. And not as good as the first Ewok movie.
9
Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008,  PG)
10
The Terminator (1984,  R)
The Terminator
This has to be one of the best action Sci-fi films ever made. I like Terminator 2 the best but this was a great introduction to the Terminator franchise. Arnold Schwarzenegger is perfect as the terminator. He plays the part perfect. Linda Hamilton is also great in her role as Sarah Connor. The films film is a nice mix of sci-fi, action and suspense. James Cameron directs a classic. The F/X is quite good for its time plus the film has a great soundtrack that sticks in your head. Overall a great film and a must see before you watch any other terminator film that followed.
11
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991,  R)
Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Usually a sequel to a film is never as good as the first film. But Terminator 2 is by far much better then the original in the series. Nothing against the first terminator movie but this exceeds it with action, F/X, story and acting. One of the best action Sci-fi films ever made. Arnold Schwarzenegger was great in his role as the Terminator. His best role he ever starred in. This movie will always be my favorite in the Terminator series. A classic.
12
The Last Starfighter (1984,  PG)
The Last Starfighter
One of my favorite Sci-Fi movies as a kid. Still holds up today! Sure some of the F/X could be better by today's standard. But this film had a great story and the cast did a great job in their roles to make you believe this was actually happening. I classic film from the 80's.
13
I, Robot (2004,  PG-13)
I, Robot
I was quite pleased with this film. Apparently based off a short story they adapt this into a great film. Will Smith gives a top notch performance. I think this might be my favorite film of Will Smith's.A great blend of action, mystery, adventure, drama and Sci-fi. With a good supporting cast and a great story this makes a must see film.
14
Minority Report (2002,  PG-13)
Minority Report
This is a excellent sci-fi film by Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg. Has a great story about stopping killers before they strike in the future. It is one of those films that mixes the sci-fi and action very well. The film has a great supporting cast. If your looking for a entertaining watch then check this film out.
15
Titan A.E. (2000,  PG)
Titan A.E.
This is a solid animated adventure about a man who has to save the human race from a enemy alien species. He must find a ship called Titan A.E. before the aliens do. The film has some nice animation and a solid story. The film also has a good voice cast with Matt Damon, Drew Barrymore and Bill Pullman. The animation is about the same lines as some other Disney films. Worth checking out if you like sci-fi adventure films.
16
Total Recall (1990,  R)
Total Recall
A very good and fun Sci-fi film. The movie story is decent and the film has good special effects. A classic by Arnold.
17
The Running Man (1987,  R)
The Running Man
This is a classic Schwarzenegger film. A great action Sci-fi story. Arnold is good in this. Has a good story and enough action to entertain. Worth a watch.
18
Predator 2 (1990,  R)
Predator 2
The original Predator was much better than the sequel. But I still seem to enjoy this one when I watch it. It was great to see the Predator fight in the city and get to see more of the alien technology used. Some of the action and F/X are quite good. The acting is okay. Danny Glover and Gary Busey give decent enough performances. The ending with all the Predators coming out to Danny and giving him a gun from the old west days was neat. I would like to see a story about that. Overall a decent enough action sci-fi horror film. If you liked the original then check this one out.
19
AVP - Alien Vs. Predator (2004,  PG-13)
AVP - Alien Vs. Predator
I liked this film. I sort of liked some of the back history between the Predator and the Alien films. Nice tie in with Lance Henriksen character from the previous Alien movies. Overall I found this film has a decent story, action and gore for a typical Alien/Predator film. The only thing I thought was wrong was that they killed off most of the Predators to quick. But overall a decent watch.
20
Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (AVP 2) (2007,  R)
Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (AVP 2)
Wow. When a town gets wiped out they get wiped out. Nobody was safe from the Aliens. Adults, kids, and even babies were victims. I am a bigger fan of the Predator movies so I enjoyed seeing more of the Predators home planet and technology in the film. The film was very graphic in violence. But I enjoyed the story overall. This story takes place right after the first Alien Vs Predator film. It is sort of a prequel to the future Alien films and also sort of mentions the previous predator films in the end. Check it out if you like the previous Aliens and Predator films.
21
Superman (1978,  PG)
Superman
One of the best super hero movies ever made. A great movie for the time it was made. Some of the F/X is not as good as some movies as today. But it still holds up as a classic film. Richard Donner stayed true to the Superman from the comics. Christopher Reeve was the perfect casting choice as Superman. His Superman/Clark Kent was perfect. His performance will always be hard to live up to for future actors wanting this role. Gene Hackman was great as Lex Luthor. Heck even the casting of Lois, Perry White and Jimmy Olsen was great. Plus with a great story and direction from Richard Donner makes this a classic film. The best in the Christopher Reeve series of Superman films. A must see for Superman and comic fans.
22
Superman II (1980,  PG)
Superman II
A great sequel to the original Superman film. Christopher Reeve is back as Superman/Clark Kent. He is excellent again in this role. He helps makes this film great. Gene Hackman back as Lex Luthor. Great as usual. Plus a great follow up story with General Zod and his allies escaping the Phantom Zone and coming to take over earth and kill Superman. Sure some of the F/X doesn't always look as good as film nowadays. But it was good for it's time. Plus you have to love the line "Kneel before Zod!". Always sticks in my head after watching it. Overall a great sequel and superhero film.
23
Superman III (1983,  PG)
Superman III
This is my least favorite of the Christopher Reeve Superman series. Richard Pryor was not needed as a character in this film. Plus the villains were not that great in the movie. Sure you don't need Lex Luthor in every film but they needed a classic Superman villain like Brainiac. Sure we had a super computer that went evil but it still was not the same. Christopher Reeve is still great as Superman/Clark Kent. Plus we still get Jackie Cooper, Margot Kidder and Marc McClure from all the other films to return. Plus Annette O'Toole was a great choice to play Lana Lang. She appears later in the Smallville television series as Martha Kent. As a Superman and Christopher Reeve fan I still watch this movie today. But I just wish it could have been just a little bit better.
24
Superman IV - The Quest for Peace (1987,  PG)
Superman IV - The Quest for Peace
I like this Superman film. Sure its not as good as Superman and Superman II. But this was much better than Superman III. And I'm glad Lex Luthor was back as the villian and they gave Superman a challenge with his clone. Christopher Reeve is again awesome as Superman and carries the entire film. This movie gets listed as the worst of the entire Christopher Reeve Superman films. But as a Superman fan I enjoyed this movie and still do today. Worth a watch for those hardcore Superman and Christopher Reeve fans.
25
Superman Returns (2006,  PG-13)
Superman Returns
Some people like it. Some people hated it. I loved it! Bryan Singer did a great job! Brandon Routh did a excellent job as Superman. Kate Bosworth was good as Lois Lane. And Kevin Spacey played a great Lex Luthor. Sure I wish there was some more action to the film. But it paid homage to the late Christopher Reeve and Richard Donner's previous Superman films.
26
Superman: Doomsday (2007,  PG-13)
Superman: Doomsday
This was a very well done animated film. The story is very close to the original comics by DC. This movie is not for younger kids. Come off more violent then I thought it would be compared to the other animated movies and shows that DC has made. But I guess it is needed with a monster like Doomsday in it. The only thing I didn't care for was Anne Heche as the voice as Lois Lane. Not sure why. Maybe I am to use to the voice from the animated series. I think Erica Durance would have been a great voice over since she does play her in the show Smallville. If your not a fan of this type of animated movie you might want to avoid. But if your a comics or a Superman fan then this is a must see.
27
The Batman/Superman Movie (1998,  PG)
The Batman/Superman Movie
This is a great animated DC comics film. Takes right from the Batman and the Superman animated television series. It brings our two heroes together for the first time to stop the Joker and Lex Luthor. Overall a great film with good animation and a strong story. But if your not a fan of the television series or Batman & Superman then you might want to skip it.
28
Spider-Man (2002,  PG-13)
Spider-Man
One of the best super hero movies out there! Great adaptation on a great comic hero. Toby Macguire played Peter Parker perfect. Green Goblin was a perfect choice as the first villain in this film. You could tell that Sam Raimi is a fan of Spider-man and stayed true to the characters. A classic.
29
Spider-Man 2 (2004,  PG-13)
Spider-Man 2
A great superhero movie! Doc Ock rocked! I like the sequel more than the original. Again Tobey Maguire does a excellent job as Peter Parker and Spider-Man.Alfred Molina was a perfect casting choice as Doctor Octopus. SamRaim brings us another great movie with his direction. Overall this has been the best of all the Spider-Man movies.
30
Spider-Man 3 (2007,  PG-13)
Spider-Man 3
This was a good movie. Good story and great action. Great acting all around. James Franco was very good as the villian/good guy. The Sandman(Flint Marko) was also well done. Sami Rami did a excellent job directing this. You can tell he is a fan of the characters. And Toby Maguire again plays Peter Parker/Spider-Man perfect. My only dislike would be the way they used Venom in this. This villain has so much more potential to be used in a big film as this. But other than that I really liked the film.
31
Fantastic Four (2005,  PG-13)
Fantastic Four
This is a decent enough take on the comic Fantastic Four. This is one of those movies that is hard to make as good as the comic. The bad for me about this film is that they could have made a longer film for the sake of the story. It seemed at times they rushed the plot. But I guess they only had so much of a budget for the film. So that makes sense. Also I didn't like how they did the origin of Doctor Doom. I am a huge Doctor Doom fan so that was kind of a disappointment for me. The good of the film though for me was casting. The Fantastic Four cast was perfect. I don't think they could have made it any better. I even liked Julian McMahon as Doctor Doom. Once I got past the origin for him he was a good Doctor Doom. Overall they kept the spirit of the comics by treating the Fantastic Four as a team and a family.
32
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007,  PG)
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
This turned out to be a good sequel. Great to have the original cast back in each of their roles. The sequel has tons more action and a great story. Plus great F/X and visuals through out the film. The Silver Surfer was great to see on the big screen. Plus Doctor Doom proved to be a even better villain in this film than the original. My only two dislikes of the film was that they could have made it a little longer. And I thought they could have done a much better job with Galactus. They seem to rush his destruction in the end. Plus you never get a good look at Galactus. All you get is a giant space cloud. But other than that I found this to be a great adaptation and fun film to one of my favorite comic series.
33
The X-Files - Fight the Future (1998,  PG-13)
The X-Files - Fight the Future
A great movie for a great television show. The X-Files is my all time favorite show from television. And this movie lived up to my expectations. Gillian Anderson and David Duchovnyare both excellent as usual as Scully and Mulder. A great Sci-fi mystery film. Though if you never watched the show then you may be confused by this film. One of my all time favorite films.
34
The X-Files: I Want to Believe (The X Files 2) (2008,  PG-13)
35
Signs (2002,  PG-13)
Signs
The best movie that M.Night Shyamalan directed. The movie gave clues through out the film about the Aliens. Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix did great job in their roles. The story was good and entertaining. My only problem with the film is why the Aliens had problems opening doors? But otherwise a good film.
36
Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979,  G)
Star Trek: The Motion Picture
This was okay. Good graphics for when it was made. The film has all the original cast from the first Star Trek television show.William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest kelly all have great chemistry in the film. In fact the acting was great. It was the weak and slow story that makes this the weakest film of all the Star Trek films. I found it to have a weak ending. And I still don't understand why the bald chick style never happened after this movie came out. Another mystery in life. They learn from their mistakes and did however make a kick ass second film to this. But as a Star Trek fan I still enjoy watching this. Worth checking out if you enjoy the other Star Trek movies.
37
Star Trek II - The Wrath of Khan (1982,  PG)
Star Trek II - The Wrath of Khan
This is a great Star Trek film. So much better then the first in the series. This film delivers more action and a much better story. Bringing back a classic villain such as Khan from the television show looking for revenge was brilliant. It was that exact actor who played him in the show Ricardo Montalban. He was such a great villain. I think that is what helped this film. Plus great performances all around for William Shatner(Kirk), Leonard Nimoy(Spock) and Deforest Kelley(Bones). This film helped show how close these character were as friends. Also kudos to the rest of the cast as well. This is the film that saved Star Trek in the 80's and helped pave the way for more movies and television shows later on. Overall a great Sci-fi film.
38
Star Trek III - The Search for Spock (1984,  PG)
Star Trek III - The Search for Spock
The third installment in the Star Trek movie series and the first one I ever saw in theatres. The film story follows right after the second film. This time Kirk's ex wife and son have made something called Genesis which can bring life to a planet that cannot not sustain life normally. The Klingons find out about this and try and take it as a weapon. Also the crew of the enterprise must save Spock who they thought was dead. A great sci-fi film with action, adventure and some great F/X. If you liked the other Star Trek films then check this one out.
39
Star Trek IV - The Voyage Home (1986,  PG)
Star Trek IV - The Voyage Home
This is the fourth installment in the Star Trek original cast movie series. The story takes right after Star Trek three. This time the Enterprise crew have to go back in time to bring back some humpback whales which are extinct in the future to save the planet from a alien force. The film has a good story and some great F/X. This film may have the least amount of action scenes of the Star Trek films. Well expect maybe the original film which has even less. The entire crew still have that great chemistry in the film. The film still shows the great bond that Kirk, Spock and Bones have as best friends. This film has lot more humour than all the other films Star Trek ever made. There are funny scenes through out of the crew trying to adjust with life in the 80's. Overall a good fun sci-fi film.
40
Star Trek V - The Final Frontier (1989,  PG)
Star Trek V - The Final Frontier
This is a good fifth film in the original Star Trek series. With a great story and action in the film I found it entertained. We get more of a back story on Spock's past and we continue to see the strong friendship between Kirk, Spock and Bones. The story itself delves into faith and does a good job with it. Some people found this to be a weak film. But overall I though it was a very good film.
41
Star Trek VI - The Undiscovered Country (1991,  PG)
Star Trek VI - The Undiscovered Country
I liked it. One of my favorite Star Trek films of the original cast. This film has a great plot and has a great blend of the Sci-fi/action/comedy and adventure. The series continues the strong bond between the characters Kirk, Spock and Bones. The F/X is one of the best from the original series and it was a good back story of how the Federation and Kilingon made peace. Overall a must see for Star Trek and Sci-fi movie fans.
42
Star Trek Generations (1994,  PG)
Star Trek Generations
The first major release film from the Star Trek Next Generation cast. The film also stars William Shatner who plays Captain Kirk. The film helps bridge off from the original series to the new one. So both fans of each series gets something out of this. The film has a great story and some great action and F/X scenes. The entire cast do a great job in each of their roles. It was nice to see the Next Generation cast finally start making major films of the popular television series. Worth a watch if you are a fan of the series or like Sci-fi films.
43
Star Trek - First Contact (1996,  PG-13)
Star Trek - First Contact
This is the best Star Trek movie from the Next Generation cast. They take a classic villain the Borg from the television show and make them step up as more menacing in this film. The entire cast do a great job in each of their roles. If your a fan of the television series then you will enjoy this film. If your not then you might want to check this out and if you like it then check out the other films from this cast. Overall a great Sci-fi action adventure film.
44
Star Trek - Insurrection (1998,  PG)
Star Trek - Insurrection
This is a good Star Trek film if you were a fan of the television series the Next Generation. The film has a great story and tons of action and great characters. But the film seem more for Trekkie fans then someone else walking into this film not knowing anything about Star Trek. I liked the film since I was a fan of the television series and the other films. I would suggest maybe watching Generations and First Contact before watching this film in the Star Trek Next Generations list of films. But overall great acting, action and a strong Sci-fi story. Worth watching.
45
Star Trek - Nemesis (2002,  PG-13)
Star Trek - Nemesis
The final movie of the Star Trek Next Generation cast. This is a well done film. With a decent story and tons of action sequences this is good film for Sci-fi and Trekkie fans. I liked the television show and this film did the series justice. The F/X was great in the film. The action sequences were brought back in this to match the second film First Contact. If your not a fan of the original show you might be lost at times with some of the characters past stories. I would suggest checking out Generations, First Contact and Insurrection. And maybe the television series as well. They are all great.
46
Serenity (2005,  PG-13)
Serenity
I loved the show. The movie was great! Damn you Fox for canceling a great show! The movie filled in a lot of missing holes from the TV series. The only one never really answered was Shephards past. A great Sci-fi film. If you never watched the show there may be parts of the film that may make you scratch your head.
47
X-Men (2000,  PG-13)
X-Men
Great movie. A great introduction to the X-Men franchise and for people not familiar to the comic. I am a huge X-men comic fan and waited years for this film. It did not disappoint me. Hugh Jackman was the perfect choice as Wolverine and Patrick Stewart as Professor X. Bryan Singer stayed true to the comics origins and spirit. A great story and casting job in each role. Not as big of a budget as X2 was but the story and characters made this a great superhero film.
48
X2 (2003,  PG-13)
X2
The best movie of the X-Men trilogy! Hugh Jackman is the perfect actor for Wolverine. I'm a fan of the X-men comics and this movie stayed true to the original material. The X-men movie must be a hard movie to make since there are so many characters to focus on. But Bryan Singer does a perfect job in this as he did in the first film.
49
X-Men: The Last Stand (2006,  PG-13)
X-Men: The Last Stand
The third film in the X-Men series is also the weakest film in the series. You could tell it did not have that Bryan Singer direction of the story and the cast. Brett Ratner did a decent job in his direction. But it was missing something. The story is good and great to have most of the cast back in this. Hugh Jackman is great as usual as Wolverine. Also good performances from Ian Mckellen, Patrick Stewart, Famke Janssen and the rest of the cast. Glad to see Beast and Angel enter this film as well. The biggest problem overall with the film was that it seemed to be rushed. The story was not as smooth as the other films. But other than that it is a entertaining film to one of my favorite comics.
50
The Fifth Element (1997,  PG-13)
The Fifth Element
This is a great action sci-fi movie. It sort of like Star Wars meets Stargate. The film is full of action and great F/X. Bruce Willis is excellent as the main hero in the film. Plus some good supporting roles by Gary Oldman, Milla Jovovich, Ian Holm and Chris Tucker. A great story of a cab driver in the future at the wrong place and the wrong time has to protect a girl to save the world. A decent story and acting. Well worth a watch.
51
Outland (1981,  R)
Outland
This is a better movie than I thought it would be. Sean Connery give a strong performance. Has decent special effects and a good action/mystery story.
52
The Prestige (2006,  PG-13)
The Prestige
I was quite impressed by this film. The story had me hooked right away. Plus I found you take a interest to Hugh Jackman's and Christian Bale's characters also right away. Great acting all around from the entire cast. The story has a mix of drama, mystery, suspense and even a little Sci-fi/Fantasy. The film has a great ending. Well worth a watch.
53
Equilibrium (2002,  R)
Equilibrium
When I first started watching this film I didn't know what to make of it. But once the story progressed I did enjoy it. The basic story is about a future society that does not allow emotion from their citizens. They take these pills to surpress this in them. But there are rebels who fight this and the goverments stance on this. The film stars Christian Bale, Sean Bean, Taye Diggs and Angus Macfadyen. Christian Bale is excellent in this. The film has a very neat story and is full of action. The action deals with many gun battle scenes which are very well done and great to watch. Overall a decent story with some great action and great cast. Well worth a watch.
54
The Black Hole (1979,  PG)
The Black Hole
I really enjoyed this movie when I was a kid. Then I thought it was awesome. I had a bunch of the toys from the movie. After watching it again as a adult I still enjoyed it but it does not hold up as it use to. Still the film has a solid story and some great F/X for its time . I always liked the look of all the robots in this movie. Hard to believe this was a Disney movie. This movie may not be for all Sci-fi fans. Some may find it boring and slow and maybe even cheesy. But I always liked this movie as a kid and still today as a adult.
55
Mad Max (1979,  R)
Mad Max
A classic. The first in the series. I liked it even though the film seemed low budget. Has a good story of a apocalyptic future. Mel Gibson stars in this as Mad Max who goes out for revenge for the death of his family. The film is dark and a fun watch. Full of car chases and road battle scenes. The film is well worth a watch.
56
Mad Max 2 (The Road Warrior) (1981,  R)
Mad Max 2 (The Road Warrior)
This is my favorite film from the Mad Max series. Seems to be years later from the original. A great look for a post apocalyptic world. The villains are great in this and the movie has a decent story about a tribe trying to hold off a grew of bandits who want their supply of oil. Mel Gibson is awesome as Mad Max again. If you want a long car chase scene then this film is for you. A classic film.
57
Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (Mad Max 3) (1985,  PG-13)
Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (Mad Max 3)
My least favorite from the Mad Max series. But it still delivers the post apocalyptic look of the film and odd characters. I still enjoy the first two Mad Max films more. Mel Gibson is still great as Mad Max. And the film still has those great car chase and action sequences that come from this series. Even Tina Turner was decent in her role. If you enjoyed the other Mad Max films then check this one out.
58
Forbidden Planet (1956,  G)
Forbidden Planet
This is one of the first Sci-fi films I saw as a child. This movie was well done for the time it was made. It had a great story and well acted. Plus I was a fan of Robbie the Robot. This is a classic film. I still enjoy watching this film to this day.
59
Star Trek (2009,  PG-13)
Star Trek
A great update on a classic series. The casting of each Star Trek member is spot on. Chris Pine was awesome as Kirk. Right down to the mannerisms and the fighting style. Zachary Qunito was also great as Spock. A great performance by Karl Urban as Bones McCoy. They all got these main characters spot on. Plus fresh updates on the rest of the main crew. I liked the original Star Trek shows and the movies that followed. But J.J. Abrams gives us a new fresh start of this series. Abrams gives up a high octane fast pace space adventure. From the great storyline to some awesome F/X this films delivered. Now some Trekkie fans may hate the timeline change of the story and the history being altered from the Star Trek we grew up with. But I think this allows for future stories without being hindered by past stories. Overall this films has something for Trekkie fans of old and those just wanting to see a great action adventure sci-fi film. Well worth a watch.

Jurassic Park (1993,  PG-13)
Jurassic Park
This is a good Sci-fi action adventure movie. Damn raptors to smart for their own good! Apparently people debunked some of the science behind the movie but is still a entertaning watch. Best of all the series. I have never read the book but I enjoyed this film. Steven Spielberg does a great job in his direction of the film. With the great F/X, great story and cast makes this a must see film.

The Lost World - Jurassic Park (1997,  PG-13)
The Lost World - Jurassic Park
This is a solid sequel to the original Jurassic park movie. Though not as good as the original film it still has it's moments. This time we seem to get more of a variety of dinosaurs. And we also get the adventure off the island and brought onto the mainland. Sort of reminds me of a dinosaur version of King Kong. The film is full of action and great F/X. Jeff Goldblum is back for this from the original. I just wish Sam Niell could also have come back for this. He was my favorite character from the original. If you liked the original film then you should also like this movie as well.

Jurassic Park III (2001,  PG-13)
Jurassic Park III
The third installment in the Jurassic Park series is good but not as good as the original. It is great to have Sam Neill back to reprise his role from the original. It helped with the story and made the film more enjoyable. A solid supporting cast, a well done story and great F/X makes for a fun action adventure film. If you enjoyed the the other Jurassic Park films then you should come out enjoying this as well.

Paycheck (2003,  PG-13)
Paycheck
This turned out to be a decent action Sci-fi film. Dealing with memory loss, hi-tech software and secrets. John Woo delivers his usual action sequences and film images throughout the film. Ben Affleck and Aaron Eckhart are both very good in their roles. I didn't really care for Uma Thurman as the love interest. She was the one cast member who seemed out of place in the film. Overall a thrilling action pack adventure that was entertaining.

Cocoon (1985,  PG-13)
Cocoon
This turned out to be a good Sci-fi film. With a great cast and a solid story makes this a fun film. The older cast steals the film from the younger cast. They were so funny and great. They had great chemistry in this. Ron Howard brings great direction throughout the film. Showing that no matter how old you are you can still be young at heart. One of those heartfelt and fun Sci-fi films. Worth a watch.

Cocoon 2 - The Return (1988,  PG)
Cocoon 2 - The Return
This is a great sequel. Just as good as the original. The original cast are back in this as well. The story is basically the same. The only difference is they are back on earth visiting. If you liked the first film then you should enjoy this as well. A good mix of comedy, drama and Sci-fi.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977,  PG)
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
This is a excellent Sci-fi film. Steven Spielberg deliverers a masterpiece. From the F/X to the great story leading up to each encounter is well done. Richard Dreyfuss gives a top notch performance. The film may seem slow at parts but it is well worth a watch. Spielberg shows us in this film why he is such a great director. A must see.

King Kong (1933,  Unrated)
King Kong
This is a classic in film and sci-fi. The film was great for it's time in 1933. This is actually quite a long film. But worth watching if you enjoy the old black and white films. The animation is not great compared to today's standards but still enjoyable for what they accomplished. The film is a great story of beauty and the beast. With a tragic ending of course. If you liked the remake by Peter Jackson then check this film out to compare the story.

Robocop 2 (1990,  R)
Robocop 2
This is a great sequel to the Robocop series. The original is my favorite but I still like this one as well. I actually find the sequel a lot more violent then the original. The action and F/X sequences are turn up a notch for the film with a bigger budget. Great to have Peter Weller back as Robocop and Nancy Allen as his sidekick again for the film. A solid story, action and F/X made for a fun film. Worth checking out if you enjoyed the first Robocop film.

Men in Black (1997,  PG-13)
Men in Black
This turned out to be a great film with a mix of the Sci-fi, action, and comedy. Based off of a comic book they did a great job. I have never read the comics but I found this to be a great film. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are perfect together in their roles. Sort of a Sci-fi buddy cop movie in ways. With some great F/X and a great story and characters makes this a film worth watching.

The Invisible Man (1933,  Unrated)
The Invisible Man
This is a classic sci-fi film. Based off of H.G.Wells novel they did a great job on this movie for the time it was made. With a great story of the invisible man going insane from being invisible to long his family and friends must help and stop him. I loved it as a kid and I still enjoy it today. With a great story of the invisible man going insane from being invisible to long his family and friends must help and stop him. A classic in film.

Back to the Future (1985,  PG)
Back to the Future
A classic Sci-fi film from the 80's. My favorite film by Michael J. Fox. The story and the strong F/X is what helped make this a great film. Plus with great performances from Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly, Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown, Thomas F. Wilson as Biff and Crispin Glover and Lea Thompson as Marty's parents made this a great film. This film is one of my favorites and will always be the best in the triliogy.

Terminator 3 - Rise of the Machines (2003,  R)
Terminator 3 - Rise of the Machines
A decent third film in the Terminator series. Not as good as the second or the original film. But it has it's charm. Nice to see Arnold Schwarzenegger back in his role as the Terminator. They basically stick to the same premise as the second film. But basically showing how Skynet takes control of the world and causes the Nukes to go off. The film got lots of bad reviews. But overall I thought they did a decent enough job with the film. With a decent story and great action and F/X scenes it was good. Worth a watch for Terminator fans.
73
Blade Runner (1982,  R)
Blade Runner
A classic in Sci-Fi. One of those films with a great story and stunning visuals. I think a lot of other movies made after this try and take the same futuristic look to their film. Harrison Ford is excellent in his role. A great story always making you wonder if the character Deckard is a replicant as well. Some believe so and some do not. You decide. Rutger Hauer in his best role ever as the main villain in the film. Overall a great Sci-fi film.
74
Back to the Future Part II (1989,  PG)
Back to the Future Part II
This is a great sequel. Not as good as the original but still well done. Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd are back in their roles. They are great as Marty McFly and Doc Brown. Thomas F. Wilson is great as Biff again. Plus you may notice that actress Elisabeth Shue is now playing Marty's girlfriend in the sequel. This time Marty and Doc Brown must travel to the future and past to make their reality right again. The story is fun and exciting with great F/X. A fun Sci-fi film for all.
75
Back to the Future Part III (1990,  PG)
Back to the Future Part III
The third and final film in the Back to the Future series. I still prefer the original film. And the second was better than the third film. But this was still a fun watch. This time Marty McFly must go back to the old west to help Doc Brown. This leads to many adventures and fun scenes for Marty and Doc. This film does not have the same appeal to me as the original but I still like it. The characters are great and most of the original cast are still in this one. Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd both still do great jobs in their roles. If you enjoyed the first two films then check out this fun final addition to the series.
76
Transformers (2007,  PG-13)
Transformers
This was a awesome movie. They did a great job on it. Never made it cheesy. Comedy, action, romance, sci-fi, fantasy. It had it all. Even if one never watched the Transformer cartoons as a kid you should still like it. Michael Bay did a great job with this film. He took the characters and story seriously. A classic cartoon show made into a must see movie.
77
The Time Machine (1960,  G)
The Time Machine
A classic in Sci-fi film. Sure it doesn't have the same special effects as todays movies but it was great for it's time. I actually prefer watching this film then the remake they made in 2002. A good adaptation to a classic H.G Wells novel. I enjoyed the book and found this film to be very close to it's content. It was great to see the Morlocks come to life from the book to this film. If you like old Sci-fi films or were a fan of the book then check this film out.
78
Evolution (2001,  PG-13)
Evolution
This is no Ghostbusters but Ivan Reitman brings us a decent sci-fi comedy. Basically a meteor lands on earth and then alien lifeforms and plant life begin to grow in a small town. The film has a fun story with some laughs. The film has great F/X throughout and some decent action scenes. Plus the film has a great cast with David Duchovny, Orlando Jones, Julianne Moore, Seann William Scott and Dan Aykroyd. The film story is not meant to be taken serious and is just a fun watch.
79
Planet of the Apes (1968,  PG)
Planet of the Apes
This original film in the Planet of the Apes series is the best of them all. The film is a classic in Sci-fi. Starring Charlton Heston the film is basically about a astronaut who crashes on a planet ruled by apes. Humans are treated as slaves and Heston must find a way to escape and get off the planet. The movie has some of the most quotable dialouge with "Take your stinking paws off me, you damned dirty ape!" Such a classic line. This line has been thrown into pop culture and spoofed so many times that you never even had to see the movie to know of it. The film also has one of the best endings ever in a movie. You almost never see it coming. The film is dated and may come off cheesy in some regards. But it was so well done for it's time and it's place in pop culture it is a classic.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009,  PG-13)
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Transformers 2:Revenge of the Fallen is a great sequel. The film takes place a few years after the original. This time we learn that the Transformers have been on earth for thousands of years looking for new enertron energy. Megatron comes back looking for this and with the decepticons they need the boy Sam who has this knowledge. This is just a plain fun film. The film has great action sequences and awesome F/X. The film does seem to have a few holes in it and some of the human characters are not needed in it. But once you get past that it is just pure popcorn fun. I prefer the original but this is a great sequel. Great to have Soundwave, Ravage and Jetfire appear as autobots and decepticons in the film. Childhood favorites of mine. Overall a fun action Sci-fi film. Well worth checking out.
81
Stargate (1994,  PG-13)
Stargate
This is a good Sci-fi action movie. The film has a great story about a ancient Stargate used by Aliens to travel from different worlds. Then it is found in present day and then a team uses this to go to a different world. I liked how the Egyptian theme is used through out the film. It gave the film a great look and added to the story. Starring Kurt Russell and James Spader they each do a good job in their roles. The film is a nice blend of Sci-fi, action and adventure. The film helped spawn the popular television series Stargate and Stargate Atlantis. Overall this is a fun film to watch.

Green Lantern: First Flight (2009,  PG-13)
Green Lantern: First Flight
As a long time fan of the Green Lantern comics it was finally great to see a animated film made of one of my favorite Green Lanterns Hal Jordan. The film starts off very quick with the origin and jumps right into the space adventure. So one should not be bored. Great to have characters like Sinestro, Killowag and the Guardians come alive from the comics to this film. The animation is well done and the story quick paced but very good. Full of action. Great film for comic fans or those who are fans of Green Lantern. Well worth a watch.

TRON (1982,  PG)
TRON
This is a cult classic. A great sci-fi movie from the 80's. The look and F/X was cutting edge for it's time. It does seem a little dated now but I still like the story and the look to the movie. The movie stars Jeff Bridges who gets sucked into this digital world. He must fight his way out to save the digital world and his world. The story was very neat and I love the look of the film. A must see for any sci-fi movie fan.
