The Hurt Locker (2009, R)
The Hurt Locker is easily the best movie I've seen this year so far. Jeremy Renner (The Unusuals) gives a star making performance as a soldier in Iraq who diffuses bombs. While the movie is always gripping and full of tension. It also has good appearances by Guy Pearce, Ralph Fiennes and David Morse. Since the Oscars will now have 10 nominations for Best Picture instead of just five, the Hurt Locker definitely should get nominated. |
