Shark Attack 3: Megalodon (2002, R)
Okay, if I was asked my favourite film of all time it would be the Evil Dead Trilogy. I grew up with them so the reason they are my favourite is a personal reason. But if you were to ask me the best film in terms of pure filmmaking and influence on film as a whole it would have to be this one. I really am surprised people even bother making films after this one was made, they can't do anything new. And screenwriters take note, this film has some of the greatest dialogue ever written. One line in particular seems to stand out. |

The Convent (2000, R)
One of my favourite STV movies of the 90s. I think this one could have easily done well had it been released in theaters. I've heard it described as a party movie and I'd be inclined to agree. Like Evil Dead mixed with Night of the Creeps this is a really fun and funny horror film (and this is coming from a guy who hates a lot of horror comedies). |

Feast (2005, R)
A surprisingly fun film. I could have done without so much comedy, especially after Descent, which showed how great horror could be when done seriously, but it wasn't too bad at all. I've never seen Project Greenlight, but reading up on Feast, it seems people were rooting for this film to fail since it had an unlikable director and Wes Craven hated the script (and anyone who has seen Shocker and Vampire in Brooklyn know the high standards this man lives by), but I thought he did a good job and apparently tried to take almost all the comedy in the script out altogether. A comendable act in itself. |
