Castle of Blood (Danza macabra)(Coffin of Terror)(Dimensions in Death)(Tombs of Terror)
Danza Macabra is A. Margheriti's masterpiece. One of the greatest horror movies ever! Barbara Steele did a superb job (as usually, for sure)...she was Elizabeth Blackwood a ghost/vampire but she lived of love, not of blood...french version added a scene of topless of Sylvia Sorrente..growll..auuuhhh!!!..beginning of the movie with Poe's Berenice tale (played by great and beautiful voice of italian actor,Silvano Tranquilli) introduced THE FEAR. I was deeply in Poe's obsession to be buried alive. The mood of movie is involving me, constantly. Journalist and atheist Alan Porter it's ME. I can't stop to watch it, i'll never stop to watch it... people go by www.antoniomargheriti.com it's a great and superb site and has trailers, stills, posters of his movies ! RIP, master!

Lo Spettro (The Ghost) (1963,  R)
Lo Spettro (The Ghost)
Abyss of madness, rage and terror for Margarethe! She misses her husband, a cynic, killer, atheist Doc Hitchcock, she missed her fuckin',dog-murderer lover, she lost her money, body and mynd!! A superior scene is the furious killing using a razor ...it works great, i was quite jelous of that asshole..mmm...yeahhh!
Usa dvd isn't good, has bad colors and ruined footages. It's better than my shit video tape from italian Tv anyway.
Great music of a carillon, i enjoyed it! Beware of curaro, folks!

Nightmare Castle (Gli Amanti d'oltretomba)(Lovers Beyond the Tomb)(The Faceless Monster)
Amanti d'oltretomba? hell, yeah, Revenge!! Groawl...i pick up two Barbara's here, a dark and a blonde! An orgy of sadistic torture, sparks of electrocution made me wet!!!

5 tombe per un medium(Tombs of Horror )(Terror-Creatures from the Grave)(Cemetery of the Living Dead (1965,  Unrated)
5 tombe per un medium(Tombs of Horror )(Terror-Creatures from the Grave)(Cemetery of the Living Dead
the story it's about a revenge after death and it's a TERRIBLE, IMPLACABLE revenge . No matter if there are Guilty or Innocents there.
...a strange letter from Jeronimus Haff it arrives by an attorney's office. There's a 'small problem': Jeronimus Haff died one year before and he wants to make a Testament now...!! The Attorney (R.Garrone) asks to his assistant Albert (W.Brandi) to do the job. Albert starts to investigate (and to fall in love for J's daughter, yeah).
Hell, this movie burns: J's wife and the Attorney they are lovers. Together with some vip's of the village they well know how Jeronimus died: they killed him!
Hehe, but Jeronimus was a man who knew dark arts and he organized his post-mortem revenge.
We see and we feel the TERROR of the Victims when they are listenin' to the sounds of the invisible cart of the 'Monatti''!
Whole people who was involved in J's death they'll have to die!
Note: i have both ITA and USA versions and alternate scenes of death (i liked SWORD's suicide instead of hangin'...it's gruesome hahaha!).

The ending it's great: the Plague starts to kill everybody in J's house ...Steele's death it's orgasmatic!! when she starts to have the signs of the plague...she screams she screams .. no no i don't want !!! no no !! arghhh arghh!! yes , folks , we're waiting for that moment, that fucked bitch must die in an horrible way!!!
Hahaha, asshole Attorney shoots with his gun... to whom, to what? The Plague has no face...hahah, hell yeah he dies like a dumbass!!!
Our heroes (Albert+J's daughter) they try to escape, they run, they run, the Plague's Ghosts are everywhere....

wow, a sweet child's song about the WATER it's the only peaceful moment of this movie...
A classic of 60s horror!

Kill, Baby, Kill (Operazione paura) (Curse of the Living Dead) (Don't Walk in the Park)
1966 movie and i would say it is one of the best and refined from Master Bava. The Ghost of a girlchild is coming to get you! The accursed villagers has to pay for what they did in the past... Our hero Doc Paul (G.R.Stuart), newbie of the village, he will discover the truth. A witch knows everything and many people they die soon after the scary vision of the girl (and of her Ball...).

La frusta e il corpo (The Whip and The Body)
Dream...reality...where's the thruth? Desire to life or to death? I had a Trip at the age of 14: this movie messed me, stoned me... Capt. Bava shocked me... forever.

La Sorella di Satana (Revenge of the Blood Beast) (Sister of Satan) (The She-Beast)
IL LAGO DI SATANA!!!! HAVE ORIGINAL POSTER. HAHA funny movie! yes this is an idiot movie and i don't know if it WANTED to be so trash. The mask of the witch (but, hell, is she for real Barbara?) it's not scary, it's grotesque (ahah Evil dead...did you copied something from this movie?) and her revenge vs villagers it has some peaks of absurdity (see the scythe and hammer inn-joke). An idiot Van Helsing makes me laugh and some demented high-speed footages scenes it drives me to consider this movie a serious spoof. Hot scene of love with quick vision of naked breasts of B! Open ending...maybe it was a pro-feminism movie? The witches are back up! mah..

Nella stretta morsa del ragno (Web of the Spider) (Dracula in the Castle of Blood)
Good remake, good cast A.Franciosa and M.Mercier do their job... Kinksy is crazy and great. Naked breasts and lesbo scenes are nice, but there's not such feeling of FEAR as it was in the original. The 60s were the 60s, folks.
20
The Virgin of Nuremberg (1965,  Unrated)
21
Werewolf in a Girl's Dormitory (1963,  Unrated)
Werewolf in a Girl's Dormitory
B&W it was necessary to create eerie atmospheres. Lonely girls walking in the night it's a standard of horror classics.
Italians had low budget, they had to make a movie in a couple of weeks.
Mixing thriller and horror it works well here...you don't know who's the killer, the werewolf until the end. Someone became a monster for love...?
The make up it's great, a scary mask!
22
Werewolf in a Girl's Dormitory (Lycanthropus) (1961,  Unrated)

Lisa And The Devil (Lisa e il diavolo) (The Devil in the House of Exorcism)
whatta asshole of producers! Bava refused to put his name on this movie since he had been asked to add 'exorcist-a-like' footages to his 'Lisa e il diavolo' The movie it has some good moments (see necrophile scene) but it's not well understandable.
Final exorcism of a preacher it put me down, i can't see this movie again. This is not a TRUE Bava movie, that's all.
26

La Lupa Mannara (The Legend of the Wolf Woman) (Werewolf Woman) (Terror of the She Wolf)
1976 italian sexy-horror. Nice naked bodies, ok, but actually i've not enjoyed the movie. I have a sealed copy of dvd here to see...
29
Nuda per Satana (Nude for Satan) (1974,  Unrated)
30
The Reincarnation of Isabel (Riti, magie nere e segrete orge nel trecento) (1972,  G)
The Reincarnation of Isabel (Riti, magie nere e segrete orge nel trecento)
this is a mix of confused plot adding sexy and sadistic footages. It is the worst horror movie of Polselli and i'm giving two stars just because there are R.Calderoni (not Caldana) and M.Hargitay. A semi-shit movie, definitely. Can't be compared to those good old italian movies from 60s.

La Figlia di Frankenstein (Lady Frankenstein)(Daughter of Frankenstein)
Poor Joseph Cotten (as the Baron)...even if this is one of the best ITALIAN SEXY-HORROR from 70s, it is pretty unconvincing...to see Micky Hargitay as a policemen...said all!!! For good luck Rosalba Neri she's a nasty bitch and gives some hot erotic scenes.
