Another beauty pointing out the destructive effect humans have on their environment. I love Nausicaa cos she's a heroine for being able to empathise with all sides not for being the best at shooting and acrobatics |

Grave of the Fireflies (1988, Unrated)
Cried so much it hurt the first time i watched this. It gets half a star less simply because Miyazaki didn't direct it and again it's really really sad |

Tonari no Totoro (My Neighbor Totoro) (1988, Unrated)
Cute cute anime film. Nothing much happens but it still manages to steal your heart. There's loads of merchandise for this film on ebay so watch it then clear your bank account buying cute themed pillows and purses and steering wheel covers and head rests and piggy banks and handbags and badges...yeh then stop cos you'll be in debt! sorry went off on a tangerine a bit there |

Kiki's Delivery Service (1989, G)
A little witch flies to a new city to make a name for herself...only problem is she's like 12! Yeh i do like this film i just cant stop thinking about the fact that she's 12. Doesn't really send a good message to kids when it seems so easy to get a rented room, job and meet genuinely nice people people who are not out to con you in the space of half a day after leaving home...i mean come on this isn't Friends |

Neko no Ongaeshi (The Cat Returns) (2002, G)
This was fun to watch but the plot felt a bit lazy. If you like Studio Ghibli then watch it but dont expect the brilliance of those in my top 6 |

Castle in the Sky (Tenkû no shiro Rapyuta) (1986, Unrated)
I really liked the ide behind this and the artwork, as always, is beautiful i just felt a little bit disappointed. Thought they could have made more, visually, of a city that everyone's been searching for. Aside fomr that i loved it especially the big wooden guard guy that makes that cute noise when he walks. |

Refreshing change of location for Ghibli...if it is Ghibli cos im not quite sure. The girl's singing is haunting, actully she is quite creepy altogether but apart from that a nice film for the family |
