So yeah, we all have them, those movies that everyone else thinks you are crazy for liking so much, those movies that jeopardize your credibility, those movies you know you should hate but you just can't (DON'T PRETEND LIKE YOU DON'T HAVE ANY!)...well here are my Top 10!

I tried to relegate movies in this list to only from the past 10 years, cuz goodness it is so obvious I didn't appreciate movies nearly as much back beyond then...haha.

Feel free to comment on my insanity!!!

The Day After Tomorrow (2004,  PG-13)

I've been trying to figure out how to justify loving this movie so much. All I can say is that it's quite possibly my biggest guilty pleasure ever...

For a multitude of reasons the movie is misleading, but primarily because it tries to portray itself as a political message movie. It fails miserably on this level. But take the movie for what it is (besides political innuendo) and you will find a solidly entertaining movie.

The acting is basically on a level were it is enough to be tolerated, and some of the side stories fall flat on their faces in an attempt to humanize the movie and to make it feel less empty. Let's not focus on that either. I'm sure you understand what I am getting at now...THE SPECIAL EFFECTS. The movie succeeds wonderfully at portraying a world thrown into chaos because of the changing Earth. Let's not pretend like it all makes sense (because anyone with a modicum of knowledge about the earth's climate knows it doesn't, at least not on a short term scale) but you can say that the story is solid enough to be accepted. Hmm but what about the CGI?... it is absolutely BREATHTAKING! Some scenes contain some of the most breathtaking CGI I've ever seen in a movie! This movie succeeds because it makes you feel small and insignificant. Huge sweeping shots of chaos and the aftermath of the disaster all make you feel like a tiny dot on a piece of paper. In a world quickly going to the dumps, you can't feel any other way. If anything this should've been taken to be the movie's main message...we are small and we are dealing with forces much MUCH bigger than ourselves. And in this respect the semi-emptiness of the movie works.

The sweeping, beautiful, engaging, and dramatic climate changes are what keeps this movie entertaining and watchable...and one of my favorites.

Fantastic Four (2005,  PG-13)

Gets an extra star and a half for bringin' my favorite comic book characters of all time to the big screen RIGHT(even after the rip off that was The Incredibles). The movie itself...is honestly probably only worth 2 stars.

Loved this movie, one of my favorite horror movies of the 2000s by far. It's just something about the thinking it was a human being for half the movie that freaked me out. Pretty good stuff Victor Salva...pretty good stuff.

Well...um..let's see: Inconsistent plotline...check. Ridiculous story...check. Characters that are dumb as a box of rocks...check. So just what the heck works for the movie?

...Well, basically it's scary. I kid you not. The movie succeeds at scaring the bejeesus out of you on multiple occasions (even when employing the typical "gotcha" scares of most modern horror movies). The atmosphere, cinematography, and sound/music work EXTREMELY well for creating tension in this movie. And Jessica Biel does a great job at playing the "designated young adult who may-or may not survive" (you see enough horror movies you'll know what I mean).

You pretty much forget that the story is ludicrous because you're too busy wondering if Leatherface is gonna kill everybody. And since it's so rare to find a movie this dumb scary as hell, I give it a pass and recommend you at least check it out if you haven't seen it. It also won't hurt if you haven't seen the original at the time you watch it...although, then again, I don't really think it matters either way.

Didn't like it as much as the first but I thought it was a good horror movie. By horror movie standards of course...so yes let's excuse the character development or the lack there of lol. I thought everything else worked pretty well for the movie.

Wow probably the worst of the Blade trilogy, but the injection of Ryan Reynolds and Jessica Biel breathed much necessary life into the series, too bad they couldn't help the plot...

Enjoyable, definitely not the best in the series (and this coming from a hardcore Spidey fan...since I was 5). But enjoyable enough to see unless you're a diehard fan in which case u will inevitably be disappointed.
