There are just some books that should be left alone. To make a movie out of some, is just mocking them. Sadly almost all of SK's novels have gone this route.
The entire series is simply classic! Back in the day when B grade was appreciated for the art form that it truly is. Curl up with your faveorite blanket, a cup of tea some pop corn...and get your shreik on!
I just saw this at the drive in the other night. I was a little dubious, I must admit, but Rob really came through! He got right into the history, which was excellent, but what surprised me, was that he strayed from the usuall teenage hack and slash formula, and brought it back to the basics. Old school horror. Sure scenes were quite graphic with the violence, but the actual gore was pretty tame. Great combination. Quite impressed with the cast. Big on tension!!!!
I have just recently discovered Mark Ruffalo, great actor!! I love how this does not revolve around the killer...or really the killings for that matter, but how it affected the lives of the people directly involved with the investigation. (Police/Media)
I have to say....when Hollywood decided to get celluloid religion...they did a quality job with this movie. Edgy, dark, go dig a hole in the backyard, witty...fantastic! I have to say, yet another fave for me.
Not to bad, they could have done more with it, wait...no.....it was boring. Robert Carlyle's part could have been more, the children .....less. The whole premis was quite silly really.
