This is a list of all the DVDs in my house. The list is mostly composed of my own collection, but some of them are my wife's and/or my son's. The list is in alphabetical order and will be a forever growing list. The list excludes all the TV Box Sets we own as well.
It took me about two or three viewing to actually be able to follow the story, but I was drawn in from the first time. Well worth the multiple viewings, you catch something new each time. One of my top three favourite Brad Pitt performances. He's a hoot.
Love this film. Not as good as Eternal, but I liked it more than Malkovich. Cage, Cooper, & Streep are all in top form. With Cooper getting the much deserved Oscar.
Plain and simple, I love this movie. I have a smile on my face for the whole movie. The Director's Cut is even better, 40 more minutes of genius, not a dull moment. Tiny Dancer sing-a-long is one of the best scenes in the history of cinema.
I'm watching the movie and I'm thinking that it's pretty decent. Good story, good acting by most. A solid 3.5 star rating, easy. But, then my distain Emile Hirsch creeps in. I've never cared for him much, and I certainly didn't by him as a tough guy. And then I see Sharon Stone wearing Gwyneth Paltrow's fat suit from Shallow Hal, rating down to a 3. Suddenly, out of nowhere, Lukas Haas, The Pin himself, shows up, back to a 3.5. The dude almost makes it worthy of a 4, almost.
Not as good as hoped, but still had some good laughs. There were not very many memorable funny scenes, but Will Ferrell had a lot of quick one-liners that just floored me. Jon Heder was Jon Heder. Will Arnet was very funny in a supporting role. It's no Anchorman or Talladega Nights, but overall fairly enjoyable.
This has been a Christmas stable in my house for more than 20 years. Sometimes even more than once. It's perfect. I laugh just as hard now, as I did then and I find myself laughing knowing what's coming up and then still laugh at the pay off. I love it.
Fantastic ensemble drama, every performance is pitch-perfect with Michael Pena being a stand-out. I am moved and find myself holding my breath during certain scenes every time I watch it.
Just a pure cinematic masterpiece. The story draws you in and it's breath-taking to look at. Some slow moments, but for me it's never dull. The extended version adds so much more depth to the supporting characters, it's well worth a look.
Dark, distrubing and sometimes a laugh-out-loud funny thriller based on Little Red Riding Hood. A great performance by a young Reese Witherspoon and Kiefer Sutherland is her match as "The Big Bad Wolf".
Underrated comedic/mystery caper from the master of ensemble casts, Robert Altman. It gets better with each viewing, Clive Owen, Emily Watson and Helen Mirren are standouts.
