I saw someone else do this, seemed like a good idea. It's frigging huge, but if anyone (I actually know) wants to borrow any, now you know what I've got.
UPDATE: Why the bloody hell did I organise this list? I hope you appreciate this, readers! It takes ages putting the DVDs where they're meant to go

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968,  G)
2001: A Space Odyssey
I hate this film. another one that shows just how bad a film student I am, but I just can't focus on a film that has such little dialogue. Or action. Or plot.
2
The 40 Year Old Virgin (2005,  R)
The 40 Year Old Virgin
Steve Carell was such a God in this film. Funnier than dodgeball and the other 'Frat Pack' movies, imho
3
9 songs (2004,  Unrated)
9 songs
Yeah, thanks for recommending this, Mark Kermode.
4
Adam's Rib (1949,  Unrated)
5
Addicted to Love (1997,  R)
Addicted to Love
Got it when I was into Matthew Broderick. I remember being bored by it, but I'm sure there's a reason I gave it three stars
6
The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988,  PG)
The Adventures of Baron Munchausen
Could have done a lot more with his helpers when they were capable rather than decrepit
7
Airplane! (1980,  PG)
8
Airplane 2 - The Sequel (1982,  PG)
9
Alien (1979,  R)
Alien
I first saw this when I was about 11, and it just gets better the more I watch it. Ripley is one of my favourite characters of all time
10
Aliens (1986,  R)
Aliens
Better in some ways than 'alien', worse in others. The bad guy is a real bastard
11
Alien 3 (1992,  R)
12
All About Eve (1950,  Unrated)
13
Amelie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain) (2001,  R)
Amelie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain)
She is a God. She should marry Earl Hickey, and have wonderfully conscious children. Hopefully they'll look like her
14
An American in Paris (1951,  Unrated)
An American in Paris
Not bad. Bought it for Gene Kelly
15
American Psycho (2000,  R)
16
An American Werewolf in London (1981,  R)
An American Werewolf in London
A lot of people bad mouth this movie, but I think it shows a werewolf would definitely win in a fight with a vampire.
17
Anchorman - The Legend Of Ron Burgundy (2004,  PG-13)
18
Annie Hall (1977,  PG)
Annie Hall
Very overrated. Allen is too far up his own bum to actually be funny
19
Arahan jangpung daejakjeon (Urban Martial Arts Action) (2004,  Unrated)
20
Apartment 1303 (2007,  Unrated)
21
Audition (Ôdishon) (1999,  R)
Audition (Ôdishon)
Sooooooooooo slow until the last 20 minutes or so, then incredibly uncomfortable and disturbing, then it finishes. Riki riki riki riki riki!
22
Austin Powers - International Man of Mystery (1997,  PG-13)
Austin Powers - International Man of Mystery
The best bit in this movie was seeing the private lives of the henchmen that get killed. And their pronunciation of sherbert. Otherwise, not as good as the sequels
23
Austin Powers - The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999,  PG-13)
Austin Powers - The Spy Who Shagged Me
Waaay better than the first
24
Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002,  PG-13)
25
Bad Taste (1988,  Unrated)
Bad Taste
What can I say about this movie? Besides "It sucks and I hate it", of course. I think the main reason I despise this movie is because despite of how bad it is, and it's shamefully bad, I will watch it again in my lifetime, probably more than once.
26
Batman Begins (2005,  PG-13)
Batman Begins
My new favourite movie. It doesn't have the same feel to lots of other comic book movies, and it's worlds apart from the '90s series of batman films, but I'd say it's one of the finest comic-book movies ever made. Christian Bale rocks, as does Liam Neeson and Cillian Murphy, who is both incredibly gorgeous and utterly terrifying. Not usually at the same time, though.
27
*batteries not included (1987,  PG)
28
Battle Royale (Batoru Rowaiaru) (2001,  Unrated)
Battle Royale (Batoru Rowaiaru)
I love this movie. Don't think I'd survive very long in that situation, though
29
Batoru rowaiaru II: Chinkonka (Battle Royale II) (2003,  Unrated)
30
Biggie and Tupac (2002,  R)
31
Being John Malkovich (1999,  R)
Being John Malkovich
This was an odd film, in that none of the characters were that likeable, except maybe Cameron Diaz's character. But it was entertaining in a surreal way, and it looks smashing.
32
Billy Liar (1963,  Unrated)
Billy Liar
I was surprised at how much I laughed at this film, as it's from the '60s. a lot of the humour's stood up well
33
Biloxi Blues (1988,  PG-13)
34
Blade Runner (1982,  R)
Blade Runner
This film just looks awesome, has a brilliant soundtrack and has great characters. It's also based on one of Dick's more readable novels, which helps.
35
Blazing Saddles (1974,  R)
36
Dead Alive (Braindead) (1993,  R)
37
Brazil (1985,  R)
Brazil
Best ending ever. I was left feeling completely miserable and paranoid, but most films don't leave me feeling anything at all. It is a bit long, however
38
The Breakfast Club (1985,  R)
The Breakfast Club
Not as good as some of Hughes' other movies. Couldn't really relate to these '80s American teens
39
Brick (2006,  R)
Brick
Very entertaining indeed. I always like it when people try to do modern film noirs, but sadly not enough people do. the lead actor, whose name currently escapes me, was really very good
40
Bonnie and Clyde (1967,  R)
41
Bowling for Columbine (2002,  R)
Bowling for Columbine
I like this movie, but was encouraged to visit www.bowlingfortruth.com, and would encourage everyone else to do the same. Although I still feel Moore raises a lot of valid points in this movie, this website made me critical of the way he shows them
42
Boyz n the Hood (1991,  R)
Boyz n the Hood
It was very, very hard trying to stop myself crying in my film studies class.
43
Bubba Ho-Tep (2003,  R)
Bubba Ho-Tep
SUCH a bizarre premise, but it works. I think a lot of it is down to Bruce Campbell
44
Cabin Fever (2002,  R)
Cabin Fever
This film was so m'eh
45
The Cable Guy (1996,  PG-13)
The Cable Guy
More Matthew Broderick. Weird, weird film though
46
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005,  PG)
47
Chicken Ranch (1983,  Unrated)
Chicken Ranch
I prefer Nick Broomfield when he takes a more active role
48
Chinatown (1974,  R)
Chinatown
Ok, couldn't really sit through the whole thing the fist time I tried. It was worth it though
49
Chungking Express (1996,  PG-13)
Chungking Express
I was indifferent the first time I saw this movie, but felt compelled to give it 4 stars after another viewing. It's a really sweet film
50
Churchill: The Hollywood Years (1998,  Unrated)
Churchill: The Hollywood Years
This film got mixed reviews, so I was a little wary of watching it. It's actually quite amusing, and a genius idea. Christian Slater is fantastic, and so are a lot of the minor characters.
51
Citizen Kane (1941,  PG)
Citizen Kane
Not really my kind of film- I don't like biopics based on real people, let alone fictional people.
52
La Cité des Enfants Perdus (The City of Lost Children) (1995,  R)
53
Clerks (1994,  R)
Clerks
Very overrated. Kevin Smith is a little bit too aware of himself for my liking; he should stop trying so hard
54
A Clockwork Orange (1971,  R)
A Clockwork Orange
Very enjoyable movie. Definitely Kubrick's best
55
The Adventures of Mark Twain (1985,  G)
The Adventures of Mark Twain
I know this as Comet Quest, and it's amazing. Really funny, aesthetically pleasing, and scary as hell in some places
56
Confetti (2006,  R)
Confetti
Quite good, but definitely a girly movie to watch with girly friends
57
The Cooler (2003,  R)
The Cooler
William H. Macy is really very good, isn't he?
58
Kaubôi Bibappu: Tengoku no Tobira (Cowboy Bebop the Movie: Knockin' on Heaven's Door) (2003,  R)
Kaubôi Bibappu: Tengoku no Tobira (Cowboy Bebop the Movie: Knockin' on Heaven's Door)
This was recommended very highly by a friend of mine who loved the series. We watched it together and at the end, even he was disappointed. (Yes, he recommended it without seeing it, silly thing). However, some of it was very cool: the first half, particularly the opening sequence was very good indeed, but towards the end my attention drifted massively. I imagine the fans will watch it anyway, and those who have no idea what CB is will steer clear
59
Cruel Intentions (1999,  R)
60
Darkman (1990,  R)
Darkman
I like Sam Raimi, and I like this film. It has a really weird, drugged up feel to it that oddly works. Liam Neeson rocks, and the scene at the carnival is one of the best I've seen
61
Dark Water (2002,  PG-13)
Dark Water
I haven't seen the remake, but I'm insulted they made one, even if it was directed by Walter Salles. This is creepy, atmospheric and a marvellous horror film
62
Dead End (2003,  R)
Dead End
Didn't scare me whilst I was watching it, but gave me the heebie-jeebies that night
63
Delicatessen (1991,  R)
Delicatessen
Loved this film
64
The Descent (2006,  R)
The Descent
When I saw this, I nearly punched a hole in my friends heart trying to escape the horror on screen. Partly 'cos I wasn't expecting anything scary to happen, and partly because the director's a Gane-ious
65
The Dish (2001,  PG-13)
The Dish
There was one really, really funny line in this, but I don't remember much else besides the fact I enjoyed it
66
Dodgeball - A True Underdog Story (2004,  PG-13)
67
Inhyeongsa (The Doll Master) (2004,  Unrated)
Inhyeongsa (The Doll Master)
schlocky, enjoyable. Freaked me out for a couple of days, as I seriously hate dolls. Could have been worse, they could have been ventriloquist dummies
68
Don't Look Now (1973,  R)
Don't Look Now
Bit slow
69
Eagle vs. Shark (2007,  R)
70

Eddie Izzard - Unrepeatable (1994,  Unrated)
76
Election (1999,  R)
Election
Big fan of Matthew Broderick, but I didn't really get this the first time I saw it. It's one of those films you go back to though, and I'm pleased I did as it's very entertaining
77
The Elephant Man (1980,  PG)
78
Enduring Love (2004,  R)
Enduring Love
Actually quite boring
79
The Evil Dead (1981,  NC-17)
The Evil Dead
A couple of Hallowe'ens ago, all of the search-engines webpages had the bright idea of doing the top ten horror films. This was on all of them, and was recommendation enough for me. It's one of the best horror films out there, with brilliant jumpy bits and creepy monsters
80
Evil Dead 2 (1987,  R)
Evil Dead 2
This films is perhaps more entertaining than the first, and I like it because it has more Bruce Campbell in it. It looks fantastic, like a really psychedelic nightmare
81
Army of Darkness (1993,  R)
Army of Darkness
I adore Bruce Campbell, especially as Ash. This film was silly and dumb, but it made me giggle a hella lot
82
Evolution (2001,  PG-13)
Evolution
I don't want to say I saw this film solely because David Duchovny was in it, but he was rather good
83
The Eye (Gin gwai) (2002,  R)
The Eye (Gin gwai)
Good, if a little slow
84
The Eye 2 (Gin gwai 2) (2004,  R)

Fever Pitch (The Perfect Catch)
Jimmy!
89
Fierce Creatures (1997,  PG-13)
Fierce Creatures
Another film I became obsessed with during my Monty Python phase. It's kind of cute
90
Fight Club (1999,  R)
Fight Club
This film was so awesome, and loved by so many, I'm really surprised there haven't been more Chuck Palhiniuk adaptations.
91
Final Destination (2000,  R)
92
Final Destination 2 (2003,  R)
Final Destination 2
Better than the first one in a lot of ways. (The bit with the pigeons not being one of them. That just made me roll my eyes a lot.) A definite sequel to the 1st one, unlike FD3, which feels like a different movie
93
Final Destination 3 (2006,  R)
Final Destination 3
My friends saw this and said they thought it was the best FD because it was the most realistic. Which made me laugh even more than the contrite nature of this film. (Not necessarily a bad thing). It was entertaining though, and also my favourtie of the series
94
A Fish Called Wanda (1988,  R)
A Fish Called Wanda
Don't call me stupid!
95
The Fisher King (1991,  R)
96

Friday the 13th (1980,  R)
98
The Frighteners (1996,  R)
99
Fritz the Cat (1972,  Unrated)
Fritz the Cat
I had to study this for animation, and have mixed feelings about it. Most of the issues I have with it are supposed to be there (gratuitous everything, for example), but it's interesting in it's own way, and the first half is more entertaining than disturbing-sadly that can't be said about the second half. I suppose if you have an interest in drug films, or films about the 60s, you'll like this one
100
Galaxy Quest (1999,  PG)
Galaxy Quest
I used to hate alan Rickman, and now I hate him for making me like him in this film. Very good film
101
The Girl Next Door (2004,  R)

104
Green Street Hooligans (2005,  R)
105
Groundhog Day (1993,  PG)
Groundhog Day
A lot of this movie went over my head when I was younger: he's trapped in the same day for years! It's kind of creepy! However, it is very funny, and Bill Murray rocks the house down
106
Ju-on: The Grudge (Ju-on 3) (2003,  R)
Ju-on: The Grudge (Ju-on 3)
Made me scared to go into public toilets.

Good Bye, Lenin
They could have done so much more with this movie
108
The Good Girl (2002,  R)
109
Grosse Pointe Blank (1997,  R)
Grosse Pointe Blank
John Cusak is one of those people who I like, but I'm not sure why. Answers ona postcard please
110
Halloween (1978,  R)
Halloween
One of the best slasher films out there. Thinking about it, I'm not sure a lot happens in it, but what did happen scared the life out of me.
111
Halloween II (1981,  R)
112
The Happiness of the Katakuris (2001,  R)
The Happiness of the Katakuris
This was the first Takashi film I saw, and I immediately bought Audition and Visitor Q. Well, if you liked those two films, this is NOTHING like it. It's a thousand times better, for one thing
113
A Hard Day's Night (1964,  G)
A Hard Day's Night
When I was sixteen, I was mildly obsessed with The Beatles: then I saw this film and became totally obsessed. Very amusing, great songs and just so very likeable
114
Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (2004,  R)
Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle
I cried with laughter when Kal Penn found the huge bag of weed. And John Cho's dream was a masterpiece
115
Heidi Fleiss: Hollywood Madam (1995,  Unrated)
Heidi Fleiss: Hollywood Madam

117
Help! (1965,  G)
118
Hjælp, jeg er en fisk, (A Fish Tale), (Help! I'm a Fish) (2000,  G)
Hjælp, jeg er en fisk, (A Fish Tale), (Help! I'm a Fish)
what a creepy arsed film this was. I saw it when I was about 15 and I felt uncomfortable. Quite a few deaths/think-they're-deads
119
High Fidelity (2000,  R)
High Fidelity
Not bad. Good idea, and John Cusak was very good in it
120
Holes (2003,  PG)
Holes
The book was better, as it was a bit more intricate, but the film was still incredibly enjoyable. Sigourney Weaver was pretty awesome
121
Hot Fuzz (2007,  R)
Hot Fuzz
It took me aaaages to actually getting round and watching this film, but I'm so pleased I did. It's absolutely hilarious, with Pegg and Frost completely nailing it. A lot of people though the ending was a cop-out (pun totally intended) but I thought it was funny and unexpected.
122
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003,  PG-13)
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
I'm not that big a fan of chick-flicks, as the women nearly always annoy me, but they were quite tolerable in this film
123
Hauru no ugoku shiro (Howl's Moving Castle) (2005,  PG)
124
If... (,  Unrated)
If...
I couldn't tell you why I like this movie, I just really do
125
I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997,  R)
126
Inspector Gadget (1999,  PG)
Inspector Gadget
Fell in love with Matthew Broderick when I was thirteen, and probably saw this 50 times in 2000. I could even tell you half the credits. I still have a soft spot for it, and I still think it's a charming funny movie
127
Interview with the Vampire (1994,  R)
128
I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998,  R)
129
Jackie Brown (1997,  R)
130
Jawbreaker (1999,  R)

132
Jeepers Creepers (2001,  R)
Jeepers Creepers
This got a bad rep, but it's really quite ok. It's watchable, plus it's got Justin Long in it who is kind of cute in a wouldn't-admit-anywhere-else kind of way
133
Jeepers Creepers 2 (2003,  R)
134
The Jerk (1979,  R)

Kurt & Courtney (1998,  R)
143
Kaidan (Kwaidan) (Ghost Stories) (1964,  Unrated)
144
Labyrinth (1986,  PG)
Labyrinth
They don't make fantasy films like this any more, and I don't know why. It has proper tunes, a beautiful female lead, marvellous fantasy characters and a genius quest. I love it
145
Chinjeolhan geumjassi (Lady Vengeance) (Sympathy for Lady Vengeance) (2005,  R)
146
La Haine (Hate) (1996,  R)
La Haine (Hate)
La Haine is a great film. It's in black and white, yet surprisingly for a modern film that doesn't make it pretentious. You despair for the whole world at the end
147
Layer Cake (2004,  R)
148
The Leader, His Driver and the Driver's Wife (1991,  Unrated)
149

151
Magical Mystery Tour (1967,  Unrated)

154
The Mighty Boosh Live (2006,  Unrated)
155
Misery (1990,  R)
Misery
Ithink the thing I liked most about this film was the fact it was mentioned in a really ace Robbie Williams song. The film itself is creepy though, and there's one physically grusome moment I have never been able to see as I cover my eyes
156
Memento Mori (,  Unrated)
157
Monster's Ball (2001,  R)
158
Monty Python's And Now for Something Completely Different (1972,  PG)
159
Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975,  PG)
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
There's a reason people quote this movie so much, and it's because it's absolutely brilliant. My favourite film, it's funny, silly, clever and barmy. Totally recommended to everyone
160
Monty Python's The Meaning of Life (1983,  R)
Monty Python's The Meaning of Life
I actually think this is better than The Life of Brian. I love TLOB, don't get me wrong, but this just tickles me more
161
Muppets From Space (1999,  G)
162
The Muppet Movie (1979,  G)

Natural Born Killers (1994,  NC-17)
167
Night Watch (Nochnoi Dozor) (2006,  R)
Night Watch (Nochnoi Dozor)
This film made me feel like an idiot for telling everyone "it has great subtitles!" But it does, and that's not the only clever thing about this film
168
The Nine Lives of Fritz the Cat (1974,  R)
169
Not Another Teen Movie (2001,  R)
170
Office Space (1999,  R)
171
Oldboy (2005,  R)
Oldboy

172
Orange County (2002,  PG-13)
173
El Laberinto del Fauno (Pan's Labyrinth) (2006,  R)
El Laberinto del Fauno (Pan's Labyrinth)
Very dark: went expecting a 'Labyrinth' style story, but got something resembling 'Requiem For a Dream'. It's hard to describe, but it certainly had a physical and emotional impact.
174
Paranoia Agent (2004,  Unrated)
Paranoia Agent
Every episiode of this anime made me gasp. I thought it was particularly clever, lots of psychology in it if you're into that kind of thing
175
The Parole Officer (2001,  R)
176
Poltergeist (1982,  PG)
177
The Producers (1968,  PG)

Requiem for a Dream
Not brilliant, but not bad. Tries a little too hard
183
Reservoir Dogs (,  R)
Reservoir Dogs
My favourite Tarantino movie. Quite clever, and although I don't normally like 'crime' movies I would certainly recommend it
184
Return to Oz (1985,  PG)
Return to Oz
It may count as blasphemy, but I prefered this film to 'The Wizard of Oz'. It's faster paced and creepy as anything, especially for a kids film
185
The Ring (2002,  PG-13)
The Ring
Samara is THE most evil creature that ever lived. If I watch this film, I can guarantee nightmares that night. A lot of people say the original is better, but I've got to disagree. The effect Samara has in this one on her victims is horrible-I nearly cried when I saw the zombified victim in the closet. Anyway, this film might not be too scary when you watch it, but it'll certianly prey on your mind afterwards
186
The Ring Two (2005,  PG-13)
The Ring Two
Scared me just cos Samara scares me. she is eeeevvvilll. But not as good as the Japanese Ring 2, which is surprising considering how much better the first American one was to the first Japanese one.

Ringu 2 (1999,  Unrated)
Ringu 2
I really liked this, actually more than Ringu. The bit where they're all clambering out the well was chilling

Ringu 0 (2000,  Unrated)
Ringu 0
There's one bit in this film where sada jumps round a corner, and it's extremely inelegant and she looks very manly. I laughed quite hard, then when I went to bed that night I actually realised how bloody terrifying that one move was

Ring Virus (1999,  Unrated)
Ring Virus
Weird. Closer to the book than any others

Robin Hood - Men in Tights (1993,  PG-13)
Robin Hood - Men in Tights
An ok movie, I only laughed at about two lines. Made me smile though

The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975,  R)
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
This movie is hard to beat if you want something to watch with a bunch of mates and you're all very, very drunk
193
Rosemary's Baby (1968,  R)
Rosemary's Baby
I'm a terrible film student. I was really bored by this 'classic'
194
Top Gun (1986,  PG)
Top Gun
Massively overrated. And very, very homoerotic
195
Run Lola Run (Lola rennt) (1999,  R)
Run Lola Run (Lola rennt)
This is probably the best action film I've ever seen. To be fair, I don't watch a lot of action, but this was clever and cool.

The Rutles: All You Need Is Cash (1978,  Unrated)
The Rutles: All You Need Is Cash
I like George Harrison, this film is worth it just for his cameo
197
Saturday Night Live: The Best of Jimmy Fallon (,  Unrated)
Saturday Night Live: The Best of Jimmy Fallon
The first region one DVD I ever bought (I live in a region two zone, see). I'd say it was worth it for the news desk alone
198
Save The Green Planet (2005,  Unrated)
Save The Green Planet
Thoroughly bizarre movie. Some of the toture scenes are a little much
199
Scanners (1981,  R)
Scanners
I couldn't believe how bad this film was! I was expecting the best SF film of modern times, but the whole time I was just thinking how well it would fit in MST.
Saying that though, I think I was expecting too much, and there are some OK ideas. The acting is just terribly hammy, and they don't make the most of the basic premise.

Secretary
I find this to be an incredibly sexy movie. It's also really sweet, and I'm pleased at the ending
203
Serenity (2005,  PG-13)
Serenity
I really only rate this movie at all because it has a) Nathan Fillion in it, and b) Steve the Pirate in it. Saying that though, it was still entertaining the second time I saw it

Seven (Se7en) (1995,  R)
Seven (Se7en)
David Fincher=awesome

Severance (2006,  R)
Severance
This film should not have been a 15! It was gory as hell, with people losing body parts left right and centre. However, it was brilliant, although any comparison to Shaun of the Dead should be immediately ignored. If anything, it's more like Cabin Fever
