8MM
This is a dark thriller cleverly written by Andrew Kevin Walker (Seven, Sleepy Hollow), and directed by Joel Shumacher. This movie explores the underground world of pornography, and snuff movies. It's not a happy story, in any kinda way, but interesting. I really reccommend to listen to director's commentary on this movie, as it explains many things about the story and how realistic things are. 8mm is not for the faint-hearted.

Koroshiya 1 (Ichi the Killer) (2001,  R)
Koroshiya 1 (Ichi the Killer)
Ichi The Killer is just one of Takashi Miike's movies with extreme violence. Having made several movies about the Yakuza (jap mob), he explores the sadistic and masochistic side of the underground. This movie is at times funny and absurd, and there's one scene where the violence is so extreme, that instead of showing you the hack and slash....you see bodyparts coming flying out through a door, and that's one example on how Miike makes the most extreme situations funny. It's been some years since I watched this, so it's high time for a re-run.

The Changeling
This movie still "haunts me" from time to time. I watched this movie for the first time in the early 80's, around the same time I watched The Exorcist for the first time, and The Changeling was and still is crawling under my skin, while The Exorcist is more a shocker. The Changeling is a mystery/thriller/ghost-story with seances, mediums and other spiritual creepiness.

Léon (The Professional)
This is one of my favorites.I have waited many years for the directors cut to be released on DVD, and now I finally have it :0). It's a region 1, two disc "deluxe edition" with all the extra scenes (just about 10 minutes longer than the theatrical version that has been available on dvd for years now), and a 2nd disc with bonus material....including interviews with some of the cast and crew made in 2004 (10th anniversary for this movie) and some other goodies.

The Transporter
A cool movie with my favorite action-hero Jason Statham. Luc Besson is the writer, and as I've said before in other reviews, Besson adds many layers to his projects. Cool action, some fancy driving and some humor too. This is great entertainment.
368
Transporter 2 (2005,  PG-13)

Almost as good as the first Transporter, and alot of the same ingredients. If you're a fan of the other movie, then you will like this one too.

Bubba Ho-Tep (2003,  R)
Bubba Ho-Tep
Bruce Campbell ROCKS!,and he rocks even more as Elvis. This is a strange mix of horror and comedy, where Bruce Campbell as Elvis and Ossie Davis as JFK must fight Bubba Ho-Tep, an evil mummy that roams around a nursinghome taking souls. Directed by Don Coscarelli (Phantasm 1,2 and 3, and Incident On And Off A Mountain Road in the Masters Of Horror series), this is a highly watchable movie for fans of horror and comedy.
411
Crank (2006,  R)
Crank
I'm not a big fan of action movies, but Crank is so much more than just action. Lots of comedy, wild editing, cool music, and lots of pumping adrenalin. Jason Statham is the coolest action-dude at the moment. Buckle up.

Wisconsin Death Trip (1999,  Unrated)
Wisconsin Death Trip
This documentary about what happened in Black River Falls, Wisconsin from 1890 to 1900 is both strange and captivating. Many people just went crazy, killing themselves or other people.
434
The Happiness of the Katakuris (2001,  R)
435
Freeze Me (2001,  G)
Freeze Me
Japanese horror is in a class of it's own. Freeze Me (It's also called Freezer) is a movie about revenge for a horrible crime happening some years prior to this story. For a while the female lead-character had my sympathy, but as the movie progressed she got herself into something she couldn't get out of. Lot's of nudity in this flick, but not sleazy. This is not a movie for the faint-hearted.
436
Desperado (1995,  R)

Once Were Warriors (1994,  R)

Perfume: The Story of a Murderer
This is a movie right up my alley. Weird, at times sick and also tragic. The music fits this movie perfectly, and this movie is wonderfully shot. Now I'm gonna read the book.
439
The Assassination of Richard Nixon (2004,  R)
The Assassination of Richard Nixon
Based on at true story. This tragic story about a man and his downfall, is very well played by Sean Penn.
440
Unleashed (Danny the Dog) (2005,  R)
Unleashed (Danny the Dog)
I really liked this one. Was prepared for an action movie, but when Luc Besson is involved (exec producer and writer on this one) there's always more to it. Jet Li's fighting is good as always, Morgan Freeman gives a solid performance as always and Bob Hoskins is great as a real sonofabitch.

Den Tredje Vågen (The Third Wave) (2003,  Unrated)
Den Tredje Vågen (The Third Wave)
This is the third movie by swedish writer/director Anders Nilsson about a former cop (Jacob Eklund) who takes matters into his own hands. The Third Wave is a very good aciton-thriller with a great recurring cast form the two previous movies, Zero Tolerance and The Bodyguards. My dvd has english and scandinavian subs, so for those of you who does not understand swedish....you still have the chance to enjoy The Third Wave, if you can get the DVD.
