imdb says: "Matt, a young glaciologist, soars across the vast, silent, icebound immensities of the South Pole as he recalls his love affair with Lisa. They meet at a mobbed rock concert in a vast music hall--London's Brixton Academy. They are in bed at night's end. Together, over a period of several months, they pursue a mutual sexual passion whose inevitable stages unfold in counterpoint to nine live-concert songs." Now the bands that play each of the nine songs are awesome bands like Primal Scream, Dandy Warhols, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Von Bondies and Elbow. If you ignore the drama side of this movie, it pretty much looks like a live gig showing one song every 10 minutes of the movie, and the rest is made up of sex scenes. The movie contains real sex and all that jazz, but if you look into the emotion involved and the stages of their relationship, it is pretty good. Most people will just watch it for the sex because the chick is pretty hot.

I am yet to have seen a Woody Allen movie that I don't like. This one was great. Full of dark comedy and excellent dialogue. At the start I was a little iffy about Jason Biggs playing the lead role but I got used to it. Christina Ricci was gorgeous and Woody was great as the crazed old advice giver. I definately recommend this to anyone who has enjoyed any of Allen's other work.

Wow. Just wow. Talk about impact. Fucking great movie. The fact that it is a true story makes it even more wow.

Has some great actors/actresses in it too. Brad Renfro plays Marty, Nick Stahl plays Bobby, Marty's girlfriend played by Rachel Miner and some of the other people in the movie are Bijou Phillips, Daniel Franzese (Damian from Mean Girls) and one of my favourite actors, Michael Pitt. The director is another of my favourites who has done some really amazing films like KIDS, Ken Park, Wassup Rockers and Another Day In Paradise.

Weird fucking movie, but very damn cool. Kind of weird in the same way that Donnie Darko or Lost Highway is. I love it when characters start out seeming normal and as the film develops they get more quirky and fucked up. Definitely recommend this movie.

Shithouse ripoff of the first one... prequal my ass, more like steal a lot of the lines from the first one and a lot of the same situations, add in a lesbian nude shower scene and done. Got 1.5 because I like the storyline, even though it was stolen, and Sarah Thompson is a hottie.

Wonderful. Scary that it was based on a true story. This is one of Gus Van Sant's best movies. It is filmed very honestly and details a realistic day in the life of kids at an American high school the day of a shooting.

This movie was fucking intense, emotional torture is such a terrible thing and a movie that is about 100% emotional torture definitely makes for a compelling movie, may not make you happy though. It left me with the same horrible feeling as I got after watching House of Sand and Fog. Covers the touchy subject of paedophilia and child porn, so pretty much everything in this movie is in your face the whole time. The whole movie is pretty much two characters, only 3 other characters appear for under 2 minutes each. The creative team behind the movie made it so you sympathize with one character one minute and the other the next, never fully settling on one being the bad and one being the good. Great if you are into emotional drama with a touch of thriller.

Havoc
Although entertaining, the characters in this movie were pretty damn annoying and the director tried to make it seem like it was much deeper than the story really was. The acting was still pretty good, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is one of the best young actors around and he plays the wigga in this so well. Basically the movie is about a gang of white people who act like black people and how two girls from this gang get tangled up in a latino gang and that's when the trouble starts happening, all the while a nerdy type kid makes a documentary on the whole situation and what it is like to be white but act like something you're not. It kept me entertained even with the annoying characters, also, Anne Hathaway is not pretty, she has a nice body, but ew at the face :-)

This was one of those movies where you could see what was going to happen right from the start, it was pretty obvious and predictable, which is why it loses points. Zach was great in Garden State but I think he lacked depth in this movie. Still, story was pretty good, and Rachel looked great, and to be honest, I think that if I were in Zach's characters position, I would have left the relationship as soon as she started being a control freak, then not have to feel guilty about fucking Rachel Bilson.

I relate to this movie which is probably why I like it. I love how they filmed it to make it seem so real, like a documentary, no professional make up artists ect. Zooey Deschanel is so hot, even without the make up and shit. The film is depressing, but I love films that can change your emotion. The acting is pretty damn superb to be honest, once again, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Don Cheadle are excellent.

It was great to see Anthony Rapp in another movie worth watching after Dazed and Confused. All the actors have great voices and although I was sceptical of how well the subject matter would translate into a musical, it ended up working really well and there were even a few tear jerkin' moments. My favourite musical is still the Buffy episode, but if I learn the lyrics to this then I will be able to sing along and love it so much more than I did upon first viewing.

Right at Your Door
Starts off with Rory Cochrane (of Empire Records, Dazed and Confused, A Scanner Darkly and CSI: Miami fame) and his wife in a home in LA, she goes off to work and he stays home. An hour later the news is filled with reports of explosions going off downtown and everyone is sent into a panic. A thick cloud of dust is moving across downtown towards the Hollywood hills where the couple's house is. It's being reported that the cloud is poisonous and that people should stay in their homes and seal them up. Cochrane's character tries to get to his wife but fails and heads back home and seals up his home. Soon after his wife comes back and he cannot let her in because she has been contaminated. Goes on from there but you get the idea. It's pretty edge of your seat stuff with the drama and the uncertainty about what is going on.

Rory Cochrane, as usual, was amazing in his role. I wish he got more lead roles like this, or even main supporting roles. The ending is really fucking unexpected.

Slacker
One of Richard Linklater's first movies, this was a movie with no plot, but based on conversation. It starts with a guy getting into a taxi and talking about his dreams, and he gets out of the cab and see's a girl get hit by a car, the camera then follows a person in another car who tries to help them, then follows the next person and the whole movie just moves from one person to the next. Film quality was average, and I thought that Waking Life was much better at doing the conversational thing without having much of a plot, so this one only got a 5.5. Most of the time I just listened to the movie because all the people were doing was walking around or sitting down talking.

Just like a longer musical episode of South Park, only not quite as good. The South Park of old has been vastly overshadowed by the episodes of late which are far superior. When looking back to these episodes/movie, it is hard to rate them any better than average.

All I Want (Try Seventeen)
I like Elijah Wood, he's cool. This movie was pretty entertaining as a drama. Mandy Moore was uber hot in this. This was one of those movies which tries to be deep but dumbs it down for stupid Americans to watch. But it was still entertaining I guess but could have been made better.

Fast Food Nation (2006,  R)
Fast Food Nation
Directed by one of my favourite Directors, Richard Linklater, who has done some supurb movies such as Dazed and Confused, Waking Life, A Scanner Darkly and Before Sunset, this movie was great. It follows three main sections of the fast food industry, the behind the counter perspective, the illegal immigrants who work in the meat factories and the big wig boss people of the fast food corporations. A lot of it seemed to be very documentary styled, which was cool, and it was riddled with many big named actors and actresses such as Greg Kinnear, Luis Guzman, Patricia Arquette, Bruce Willis, Kris Kristofferson, Ethan Hawke and Paul Dano with some other people such as Wilmer Valderrama, Avril Lavigne, Ashley Johnson and Lou Taylor Pucci. I think everyone should watch this movie. Twas quite educational and entertaining.

Grind (2003,  PG-13)
Grind
Another skating movie. This was like the more teeny comedy version of Lords of Dogtown. Lords of Dogtown was much better in my opinion. It has the boy who plays Seth from the OC as one of the main characters, so that was a plus (or a minus if you hate the OC). Pretty much this movie would be good to get out with a bunch of people you are gonna be drinking and watching movies with all night.

All Over Me
I thought this was gonna be way better from the description, which described it as being about two girls who come from a troubled neighbourhood in the mid 90s and have issues with eachother and really delves into the 90s alternative scene and shit. But it wasn't really that great. Lesbian activity though for those who watch movies just to see that kinda thing. Cole Hauser is awesome.

Alpha Dog (2007,  R)
Alpha Dog
Thoroughly entertaining. I also like when you are watching a movie that doesn't have a lot of big name actors, but you still know and recognise who they are when you see it, like people from the OC, the really stupid girl from Mean Girls, Shawn Hatosy from The Faculty and 11:14 and many more. Justin Timberlake shocked me at how well he acted, he stole the second half of the movie while the first half was definately Ben Foster's. Ben Foster was an insane cunt, especially when he comes into the part full of people he doesnt know and starts beating the crap out of everyone by himself and punches a chick in the face. Weird that it is a true story and the court case is still going on about it.
