Blood Work 4.0 Stars
This was a tense little thriller. Even in his old age, Clint still has the chops to carry something like this off. Good movie.

The Bone Collector (1999,  R)
The Bone Collector 4.0 Stars
Excellent movie, with a young and relatively unknown Angelina Jolie. This should probably be a suspense film rather than horror, but it's still a good one.

Changing Lanes (2002,  R)
Changing Lanes 4.0 Stars
This was a good one. A surprisingly good performance from Ben Affleck really helps carry this one. A nice tale of two men double-crossing and triple-crossing each other, all over a stupid road rage incident.

A History of Violence 4.5 Stars
Excellent movie. Great performances from everybody in a really suspenseful and moving picture. Shows how violence will come back to haunt you even after you think it's long forgotten.

I like this one very much. Lots of suspense, plenty of action, and a fair amount of humor thrown in as well. Definitely a 'B' movie, but one with a lot of class.

Memento (2000,  R)
Memento 5.0 Stars
This movie is absolutely brilliant. The way that the director plays with the audience, making them see things one way, when they are actually happening completely differently - it's amazing. Such an excellent movie - I wish there were more like this.

No Country for Old Men (2007,  R)
No Country for Old Men 3.5 Stars
For the most part, I enjoyed this film. But is it too much to ask for a film that has a good ending? Instead of a decent conclusion, this film just kind of grinds to a halt. I'll admit that the performances were great, especially Javier Bardem. But the storyline just seems to go on too long before it unravels and falls apart.

Oldboy (2005,  R)
Oldboy 3.5 Stars
I really enjoyed this one. It was brilliantly stylish, but not at the expense of the story. There were a number of parts in the film where I was starting to get confused, but it all came together in the end, much to my relief. There were some spectacularly violent sequences too, which were very impressive. Excellent Asian film.

I thought I would like this movie more than I did. However, I just found it to be slow and not all that interesting.

Out of Time (2003,  PG-13)
Out of Time 3.5 Stars
This is a far-fetched but entertaining film about a cop who screws up big-time, then tries to correct it before anyone finds out. It's quite suspenseful and well-acted.

It's always fun to watch Al Pacino chewing the scenery, and this one is no exception. It's a pretty good tale of double-cross and deception.

Again, Tarantino's dialogue is the best. I can't praise this film enough.

Taking Lives (2004,  Unrated)
Taking Lives 3.0 Stars
This one starts out really well, but ends up with a predictable twist ending that I could see coming a mile away. Angelina Jolie is extremely sexy in this one, and she has a very hot sex scene which I greatly enjoyed! Woo-hoo!

Even though this tends to be very slow, I really liked the unusual take on superheroes. And I actually was impressed byt the trademark twist ending in this one!
