Bubba Ho-Tep (2003, R)
I've finally gotten around to see film and I wasn't disappointed, in fact I loved every minute of it! Bruce Campbell shines in perphaps the best performance of his career as Elvis, he could have made him into a parody but instead he plays he with regret and sadness. The late Ossie Davis is also great as a man who thinks he is J.F.K., together they have to battle a soul sucking Mummy at thier retirement home. The film's highly original concept is excellently done by writer/director Don Coscarelli. The mixture of horror and comedy works, at times being both intense and also being very funny. Check it out. |
