My Top 5 Fav Kate Winslet Roles

One of my favs period. I fell in love w/ Kate Winslet watching this.

The screenplay is pitch perfect as far as a blend of comedy and drama. The acting is flawless as Thompson is a reserved beauty, Winslet breaks your heart, Grant is his usual comic relief self (but w/ depth), and Alan Rickman as a character that ends up surprising you.
For some reason, I kept telling myself that this really can't be 5 stars, but I can't think of a reason why not.

Powerful. Kate Winslet's best work. Jackie Earle Haley devastates. I had a problem with the narration at first, but after watching it a second time, I've realized that it's very appropriate (even if it bugs me).

Love Winslet and Depp has his quietest and most impressive role of his career.

Never have I seen anything so zany. The pace can be [quite] a problem, but Walken and Winslet give perfect performances in supporting turns. It is nice to see these actors sacrificing their usual stylings and having some fun. It's not perfect, but crazy enough just because of what it is and who is in it.
