Twister (1996, PG-13)
A wild ride of a movie. Daredevil stormchasers played by Hunt and Paxton who wants to learn everything about the tournadoes, by getting inside of them. Amazing special effects, eye-popping storm-chasing sequences. Also flying bovines are pretty interesting. It is full of adventure and action designed to blow viewers away. |

Trouble the Water (2008, Unrated)
A hand held documentary gives us a tour of the poverty-stricken Ninth Ward district of New Orleans where the vicious Hurrican Katrina unleashed hell. Inspiring to watch as Kim and her husband keeps extending a helping hand and a cheering voice to all those left stranded while the authorities failed to help. Here, we could also see the heroic acts of ordinary people fighting to survive. It was potently sad to see military personnel who refuse to let the starving and homeless citizens into their base for shelter even though it was deserted and Bush had plans to demolish it. They even threaten to shoot the victims maintaining that they were just doing their jobs and protecting their interests. Shocking! Kimberly Rivers singing along to her autobiographical song Amazing, its potent soundtrack was fantastic. This piece here has remarkable, hair raising footage and now I do have a better understanding of what happened during the 2005 disaster. |

Films that make you think it's the end of the world. Who knew that nature would make such good movies.
