2001 Maniacs (2005,  R)
2001 Maniacs
Completely original! Extremely funny, and lots of gore... Just the way I like my horrors. Although the gay guy getting killed from a skewer through his arse to his mouth... Pretty harsh man.
2
Hellbent (2005,  R)
Hellbent
A gay slasher flick. I collect horror movies so I have to love this!! I think it's well worth a watch and a giggle.

Slither (2006,  R)
Slither
Totally f**ked up, but great fun! Gotta love it!! I certainly did! The effects were brilliant and the comedy hilarious!
4
Ghost Ship (2002,  R)
Ghost Ship
This movie has got the best opening sequence for any horror film!! C.mon. It deserves at least 3 stars for that!! Yummy!!
5
Sleepy Hollow (1999,  R)
Sleepy Hollow
Loved this movie. Was totally brilliant, and consistent throughout. Definitely worth a watch!
6
Silent Hill (2006,  R)
Silent Hill
If you wanna see a decent video game converted into a movie that does it justice then watch this. It's unlike any movie you will ever watch, and the performance and artistic quality are simply stunning! A hauntingly beautiful movie...
7
Scream (1996,  R)
Scream
The first movie in a trilogy that dissected the rules of horror movies, and followed them at the same time. When this came out I worshipped this film, and I still kinda do!
8
Serial Mom (1995,  R)
Serial Mom
"Do you like pussy willows?" Classic quote, and brilliant movie!! Kathleen Turner is a domestic goddess turned psycho! Wicked...
9
Gremlins 2 - The New Batch (1990,  PG-13)
Gremlins 2 - The New Batch
Gore, humour and total hilarity. Non-stop and wicked entertainment. Love it even more than the original!!
10
Final Destination (2000,  R)
Final Destination
Should be a horror classic in years to come. The concept is wicked. Well worth watching for any horror buffs. Gotta love weird and wonderful killings.
11
Jaws (1975,  PG)
Jaws
Freaky stuff. Brilliant horror movie franchise. Wicked. Now I hate going in deep water!!
12
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974,  R)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Maybe the best horror movie of all time. This film shows pure terror, and the hook scene always makes me flinch. Genius, and ground-breaking.
13
The Hills Have Eyes (2006,  R)
The Hills Have Eyes
I worry about remakes but this film had me gripped. Just amazing in every single way a horror should be!
14
Halloween (1978,  R)
Halloween
A horror classic. Jamie Lee Curtis starting her scream queen status. Brilliant movie starting a brilliant franchise.
15
The Silence of the Lambs (1991,  R)
The Silence of the Lambs
Mmm... Gotta love the genius of Anthony Hopkins. His best role the date.
16
28 Days Later (2003,  R)
28 Days Later
One of the best zombie/horror films ever. Launched Cillian Murphy, and I can't fault it.
17
Kill Bill: Volume 1 (2003,  R)
Kill Bill: Volume 1
Uma kicking ass. Love it. Tarentino is genius for making the Kill Bill films and moving time around in them perfectly. The second one is slower, but I'd still give that a 4.
18
The Lost Boys (1987,  R)
The Lost Boys
Brilliantly acted with a wicked cast. Classic horror at it's best.
19
Interview with the Vampire (1994,  R)
Interview with the Vampire
I'm the biggest Anne Rice fan ever, and this movie pretty much did her justice as best it could. Kirsten Dunst is brilliant in this movie.
20
Saw (2004,  R)
Saw
I had a nightmare after this movie, and I collect horror, so I've gotta give top marks to this. The concept is brilliant as well.
21
Hostel (2006,  R)
Hostel
Sick and nasty. Interesting idea. Totally twisted! Absolutely loved it! Very sick though! Lulled into false sense of security at the beginning, and haven't seen that many tits in a movie for years!
22
Seed Of Chucky (2004,  R)
Seed Of Chucky
Hilarious!! I love the fact that the Child's Play franchise has just become pure comedy!!
23
Final Destination 3 (2006,  R)
Final Destination 3
Was pleasantly surprised! When the opening sequence started I wasn't impressed at all, but as the film got rolling as did the mad deaths it got better!
24
Halloween II (1981,  R)
Halloween II
Nearly as good as the first it has the feeling it was filmed directly after the first one (which I think it may have been). Original slasher fair.
25
Gremlins (1984,  PG)
Gremlins
Sorry, but definitely the best horror monsters ever. The sequel is even more hilarious, but the launching pad for a wicked idea in little monsters. And ya gotta love Gizmo...
26
Saw II (2005,  R)
Saw II
Good sequel. Totally sick as I was hoping after the first one, and equally as twisted! Really can't complain!
27
Wolf Creek (2005,  R)
Wolf Creek
Brilliant. Very disturbing and twisted. Was quite shocked by what happened to the lead female.
28
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003,  R)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Really good re-make, and very freaky, but was there a need for a re-make when the original is such a classic?
29
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - The Next Generation (The Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre) (1994,  R)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - The Next Generation (The Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre)
Not bad, but not great. McConaughey is pretty freaky in this film. Worth a watch.
30
Battle Royale (Batoru Rowaiaru) (2001,  Unrated)
Battle Royale (Batoru Rowaiaru)
Maybe the best of Asian cinema. The concept, and the whole film are just absolutely brilliant. How much do I wish the sequel was up to scratch!!
31
Monster (2003,  R)
Monster
Charlize Theron as you have never seen her before... May be the role of her career. It was a brilliant representation. There was just something lacking a little and I can't put my finger on it.
32
Kill Bill, Volume 2 (2004,  R)
Kill Bill, Volume 2
It's a great movie, but there's just something lacking compared to part one. Oh, let's be honest... I wanted Uma to kick even more butt than that!
33
Ju-on: The Grudge (Ju-on 3) (2003,  R)
Ju-on: The Grudge (Ju-on 3)
The Grudge was spawned from this and tried to replicate it. Difference is that this movie is absolutely brilliant and freaky, and the Americanised version is lame!
34
The Eye (Gin gwai) (2002,  R)
The Eye (Gin gwai)
Asian horror at it's absolute finest. I bet the Americans will ruin this one too!! It is absolutely brilliant though, and well worth watching. Completely original and compelling.
35
Three...Extremes (Saam gaang yi) (2005,  R)
Three...Extremes (Saam gaang yi)
Three completely unrelated yet brilliant short horrow films. The stories are each inspired yet freaky in their own way. Dumplings is just a funny concept, and the other two are equally brilliant. Check this out!!
36
The Eye 2 (Gin gwai 2) (2004,  R)
The Eye 2 (Gin gwai 2)
What I love about this movie as a sequel is that the story is completely unrelated to the first film. It is a completely different concept. I love the fact that spirits are re-incarnated into babies as they are born. Brilliant idea.
37
Ringu ( Ring) (1998,  Unrated)
Ringu ( Ring)
This is far superior to the American re-make of The Ring, just as they always are! If you can't deal with subtitles then you must have issues, as you get the actors feelings through much better. Absolutely brilliant. Freaky as hell, and ground-breaking. The amount of movies this film has inspired is phenomenal!
38
Ringu 0 (2000,  Unrated)
Ringu 0
This movie is actually quite brilliant as a prequel. It really helps you out with the plot before. And it far better than Ringu 2, although not as good as the original. If you are a fan then I beg you to watch this!
39
Ringu 2 (1999,  Unrated)
Ringu 2
It's okay. It jumps about (not as much as The Ring 2) and there are times you may get lost. It isn't as good as Ringu or Ringu 0, but hey, it's okay. It's not the Americanised crap, so you can enjoy it hopefully!
40
Audition (Ôdishon) (1999,  R)
Audition (Ôdishon)
This film has one of the, if not THE freakiest ending to any horror film you will ever watch. You don't see what is coming. At least I didn't. So unbelievably slow in places but so mind-blowingly original and f**ked up!!
41
Anatomy (Anatomie) (2000,  R)
Anatomy (Anatomie)
This is brilliant German horror, and I think it is brilliant. It is original, and really makes you wonder about what medical students have got up to over the years!! Watch it I say!!
42
Anatomie 2 (,  R)
Anatomie 2
I'm sorry, but as a sequel this was really lame. They had so much more they could have done with it, and completely ruined it for me!! I'm sooo not impressed. Oh well, I did get the box set.
43
Tattoo (2002,  Unrated)
Tattoo
It is a good movie, and highly original. It's been dubbed the German 'Se7en'. It's a shame it doesn't quite live up to that reputation to be honest. Although excellent in some ways it was too slow and not as gory as you think it should be!
44
Alien (1979,  R)
Alien
This film is absolutely brilliant and a total ground-breaker in the horror genre. Sigourney is amazing as is this movie. I absolutely adore it. Nothing like a good face hugger!
45
Aliens (1986,  R)
Aliens
Could be even better than the first! But both are absolutely amazing! "Stay away from her you b***h!" I say!! Absolutely adore it, and the new characters introduced. Ripley kicks ass man!!
46
Alien 3 (1992,  R)
Alien 3
Hmm... It's ashame really. It's a watchable, and good movie, but it just isn't anywhere near as good as the first two. The ending is pretty different though.
47
Alien Resurrection (1997,  R)
Alien Resurrection
Again, not as good as the first two, but in my opinion it IS slightly better than number three. I like the fact that Ripley has become a hybrid, and I think Winona's character adds a little something. Good, but not great by any means.
48
Friday the 13th (1980,  R)
Friday the 13th
Oh, now come on... This is THE original slasher. Killing without real thought to be honest. We LOVE it!! Well, I do. Let me count the ways... of killing that is. I'm such a mummy's boy!! Beware everyone...
49
A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984,  R)
A Nightmare on Elm Street
This is ground-breaking horror in my opinion!! Totally original with amazing effects. Look at the celebrity of Robert Englund oh thee disbelievers. This launched Johnny Depp!!! Granted it was in a geyser of blood from bed to ceiling, but it launched him!! Amazing.
50
Child's Play (1988,  R)
Child's Play
Slate this movie as much as you want, but it launched a very lucrative franchise, and a very sick idea. I'd rather have this knee high bastard coming after me than the child catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!! Chucky... I salute you... I'll be your FRIEND!!!
51
Candyman (1992,  R)
Candyman
Original horror at it's best. I chanted at my mirror yet my guts still haven't been ripped out and turned into garters. Dammit... I forgive this movie for that. This movie freaked the crap out of me when I first watched it. It's classic Clive Barker and I give it snaps for that.
52
Wes Craven Presents Wishmaster (1997,  R)
Wes Craven Presents Wishmaster
"As You Wish"... Immortal lines in the world of horror... Just the originality of this horror film (yes parts are lame) means I give it full marks... Especially when it comes to watching the others dammit!! Beginning of a franchise.
53
Akira (1988,  R)
Akira
This movie truly effected me in a way I don't think many animated films have. It shocked me soooo bad I had nightmares at the time. It's ground-breaking and very fucked up...
54
Clue (1985,  PG)
Clue
This is the biggest whodunnit movie of my youth, and I love it. Tim Curry is a God (stay out of all these movies I love so much mister.. it's weird). I adore this film. Comedy, murder, and intrigue... You better know it!
55
Cabin Fever (2002,  R)
Cabin Fever
Well, I think this is a good original sory-line for a horror movie, and the effects are just right. It isn't perfect but I like it a lot. Sick and nasty and ripping off earlier movies though... It's there!
56
Ginger Snaps (2000,  R)
Ginger Snaps
Totally original in the genre of horror... It really does push most buttons. Werewolf time... Totally original story. I love this movie. The acting matches the story... in my mind,.... ground-breaking.
57
Ginger Snaps 2 - Unleashed (2004,  R)
Ginger Snaps 2 - Unleashed
In some ways this movie is darker thn the original even though it isn't!! I still think this is a better sequel than most!! Love it... but it's a different kind of love.
58
Hoboken Hollow (2005,  Unrated)
Hoboken Hollow
Hmmm... It is well acted, but it's slow in places and VERY f**ked up. Which is usually good, but for some reason in this movie it doesn't work? I say watch Wrong Turn or something else, but hey, maybe worth watching just the once?
59
Ju-on: The Grudge 2 (2003,  R)
Ju-on: The Grudge 2
It isn't as good as Ju-On, but it's still brilliant Japanese horror. Much better than The Grudge or The Grudge 2!! Americans spoiling perfectly good foreign cinema by doing re-makes. Tsk Tsk...
60
Koroshiya 1 (Ichi the Killer) (2001,  R)
Koroshiya 1 (Ichi the Killer)
This movie is completely f**ked up, but in a good way! It's sick as hell and I love it! The characterisation of Ichi is just bloody amazing. There's something sexy about Kakihara which is also weird. It lost me in some places, but gore-alicious I say!
61
From Dusk Till Dawn (1996,  R)
From Dusk Till Dawn
This is just one of the best horror movies ever. I totally adore it, and highly recommend it to anyone. Blood and guts, action and drama... Beautifully wicked!! Salma Hayek can nearly turn any man in this movie... Before she turns!!
62
Carrie (1976,  R)
Carrie
This is classic horror at it's best. Siisy Spacek is absolutely amazing in this role. It's disturbing yet touching at the same time, as you really feel for Carrie's character. And talk about a great line... 'They're not dirty pillows mama! They're called breasts!!'
63
The Rage: Carrie 2 (1999,  R)
The Rage: Carrie 2
It's ok. I love the effect of her tattoo taking her over when she gets enraged, but it definitely is only a minor chip off the original. Watch it once then discard it.
64
I Spit on Your Grave (Day of the Woman) (1978,  R)
I Spit on Your Grave (Day of the Woman)
This movie is gross, and a real shocker, but in a way that's what makes it so good and unique. It was banned for ages! There are some cringing moments where you don't wanna look like the rape, and when sje seeks revenge on one of the guys cocks, but hey... That's why people love it I guess!!
65
Taxi Driver (1976,  R)
Taxi Driver
This may be one of the best acted and best directed movies ever made. It is a total masterpiece!! Did I enjoy it? Not really! But I can completely appreciate it. It is brilliant. The last 25mins were the best for me, but you needed the rest to kind of understand Travis. I'll watch it again.. but not for a very long time.
66
The Proposition (2005,  R)
The Proposition
The performances in this movie are totally amazing from Guy Pearce to Ray Winstone to Emaily Watson to the lesser parts. It's incredibly bleak, and makes you cringe at times, but hey, life isn't always pretty and wasn't when and where this film is set. You may not enjoy this movie, but it doesn't stop it from being a downright honest and brilliant piece of film-making.
67
Saw III (2006,  R)
Saw III
I definitely rate this more than I thought I would! It has some of the most grim deaths you ever see on screen, and although the first half got on my nerves it totally explained itself afterwards!! Definitely very impressed. Another good gory sequel.
68
When a Stranger Calls (2006,  PG-13)
When a Stranger Calls
I'm not sure if it's as good as the original short film. In fact I don't think it is, but it is highly watchable. I just wish the lead didn't do all the obvious things the heroines do in bloody slasher flicks!!
69
Hollow Man (2000,  R)
Hollow Man
There's some really good effects, and Kevin Bacon is scary as ever! He's always good at these bad boy roles! Freak and unique.
70
Blade (1998,  R)
Blade
THis is one of the best action/vampire flicks there is. If not THE best! The supreme anti-hero. Bloody phenomenal stuff. Definitely a comic classic. Watch it!
71
Primeval (2007,  R)
Primeval
Orlando Jones has some comedy lines of the century in this movie... "JoJo, if I have to shove you up my ass to get you past customs I will..." Genius. Other than that it's better than Anaconda and other trash. Worth a watch maybe. The comparison between the human monsters and the croc was obvious. Not sure it needed someone in the film to point it out. But overall a good movie with great effects.
72
Ginger Snaps Back - The Beginning (2004,  R)
Ginger Snaps Back - The Beginning
I was actually really worried because a prequel in the context of this one using the same two actresses/characters back in history? Shouldn't work, but amazingly it pulls it off. Great acting, very original, and just enough gore!
73
Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006,  R)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning
Matthew Bomer is hot hot hot!! Yummy... So I was gutted to see him, well, gutted!! This movie not only shows you how it started but takes the gore to the Saw and Hostel generation level. Hard to watch at some points, but bloody awesome I say!!
74
The Hitcher (2007,  R)
The Hitcher
Sean and Sophia act their pants off in this film. It is an absolutely brilliant thriller, and definitely one that will keep you on the edge of your seat so check it out!!!
75
Perfect Creature (2006,  R)
Perfect Creature
This is actually a really good concept for a vampire flick and it makegs it completely original. It's also very well done. I would definitely check it out! There is a little something lacking but other than that a very good and original vampire flick.
76
The Black Dahlia (2006,  R)
The Black Dahlia
What an amazing cast! This movie is actually a lot better than I thought it might be. It was about time there was a movie linked with one of Hollywood's most notorious murder cases, and the cast is hotter than Hades. Definitely one to check out!
77
Black Christmas (2006,  R)
Black Christmas
I enjoyed this movie, but it was severely lacking as a horror movie for me. There could have been some far more imaginitive deaths to be honest, and the whole thing with the killer's sister/daughter was badly done. There was no real reason for her to join forces, and the casting of her was dreadful. Enjoyable but very disappointing.
78
Turistas (Paradise Lost) (2006,  R)
Turistas (Paradise Lost)
How the hell can this be compared to Hostel? There's barely any gore, and it's a bit of a steaming turd of a movie, which is a shame as it was a good idea for a movie...
79
The Host (Gwoemul) (2007,  R)
The Host (Gwoemul)
This movie is completely original. I was really impressed. Great special effects, and a a thoroughly modern creature feature. Asian film-makers have done it again! Let's hope it isn't American-ised like so many other great Asian movies have been ruined in doing so. Check it out!
80
Altered (2006,  R)
Altered
Hmm... Don't really know where to begin with this one... It's like watching Signs when you've had a bad trip and start having flashbacks. It started off really badly I thought, and was pretty sick in places. Always nice to have an alien slowly pulling out your intestines across the room. I dunno... Good acting, pretty good effects? I do like gore... But did I enjoy it? Jury is out...
81
Stay Alive (2006,  PG-13)
Stay Alive
I actually thoroughly enjoyed it! It has a great B List cast and is incredibly original in a way, using computer graphics so much. I alwfays loved this one death on one of the Nightmare On Elm Street movies where a kid is sucked into a game, and this kinda reminds me of that. Worth checking.
82
Black Christmas (1974,  R)
Black Christmas
This movie is so much better than the dreadful remake!! Bloody brilliant. I do wish there were some themed deaths like being strangled with tinsel or something. Although, being stabbed by an ornamental unicorn is pretty cool...
83
The Hills Have Eyes II (The Hills Have Eyes 2) (2007,  R)
The Hills Have Eyes II (The Hills Have Eyes 2)
I'd like to say this is as good as the first one... But I can't. The concept is actually not bad for a sequel, but the way they've gone about it is pretty awful. It just hasn't been pulled off at all, which is a shame. Don't bother...
84
Hannibal Rising (2007,  R)
Hannibal Rising
I was actually for the most part impressed with this prequel. I just wasn't impressed by the casting of young Hannibal. He was cute, but there was something really off. He was trying too much to be Anthony Hopkins when there should have been more of a transition. Still worth a watch nonetheless...
85
The Hamiltons (2006,  R)
The Hamiltons
I was totally impressed by this movie! If you're a horror fan like me then it is a breath of fresh air! A movie about a killer family may not be original, but when it's from the point of view of the family, and one doesn't wanna take after the rest? A recipe for brilliance. Totally loved it, and had a great twist...
86
Snakes on a Plane (2006,  R)
Snakes on a Plane
I always wondered what I'd think of this movie, and it's okay. Completely over the top, but the humour is definitely there and I love a movie that doesn't take itself too seriously... 'This plane is gonna go down like a Thai hooker!'
87
Reeker (2005,  Unrated)
Reeker
The best thing about this movie is the gore make-up. Bloody brilliant. It's quite confusing though, and doesn't explain the ending well at all. Shame. Could have been a lot better but doesn't reek too much!
88
Them (Ils) (2007,  R)
Them (Ils)
I hadn't seen a French horror before and I've got to say I was pretty impressed. Just enough suspense, or maybe not quite enough! But it was interesting and disturbing to realise who 'They' actually were...
89
28 Weeks Later... (2007,  R)
28 Weeks Later...
I was worried this was gonna be bloody awful, but I needn't have! It was brilliant. Loved the concept and difference to Days Later, although it isn't quite as good!
90
Zombie Honeymoon (2004,  Unrated)
Zombie Honeymoon
This is a movie that you will either love or hate to be honest, and I loved it! Completely original take on a zombie flick. I love the emotional and moral turmoil each character is going through. One because the man they love is a zombie, and the other because the woman they love looks good enough to eat! Hilarious.
91
Headspace (2005,  R)
Headspace
Hmm... Good acting, but incredibly disappointing. This movie never explained itself, which was really irritating to me. Or if it did then it didn't do a good job. Did he simply end up insane or were there actual monsters? Who knows. I wouldn't bother...
92
Ripper (2002,  R)
Ripper
I actually originally watched this just to see Kelly Brook get murdered! Aren't I nice? It was an okay slasher flick, but as usual it could and should have been a lot better. Very disappointing.
93
Saw IV (2007,  R)
Saw IV
I was wondering how the hell they would make a fourth one after killing off everyone, but they did it with skill! I was very impressed actually. It's also really good. It got a bit too confusing at the end for me with all the flitting about, but other than that brilliant.
94
The Devil's Rejects (2005,  R)
The Devil's Rejects
This movie may be bloody but it's bloody brilliant as well!! THe acting is second to none, and although you feel for the victims I found you also end up feeling for the killers by the end. If you like horror this movie may be disturbing at times, but it is well worth it!
95
Night Watch (Nochnoi Dozor) (2006,  R)
Night Watch (Nochnoi Dozor)
This is one of the best foreign supernatural horrors you will have seen, and maybe the only Russian movie you will have seen! This has some of the best cinematogrphy I have ever seen with just brilliant effects and characters. I can't gush about it more... See it... It won't disappoint!!
96
30 Days of Night (2007,  R)
30 Days of Night
This is the best vampire movie since The Lost Boys and Blade. Love the premise, especially as parts of Alaska do actually have 30 days of night once a year! A brilliant modern horror/modern vampire movie. Josh is sexy and brilliant as always, but the stand-out for me is Ben Foster as the freaky outsider. He's phenomenal and so is this movie!!
97
Hostel: Part II (2007,  R)
Hostel: Part II
I have heard such bad reviews of this, but I thought it was actually really good. It was interesting seeing the bidding, etc, and I liked a couple of the twists and reversals. I actually didn't think there was enough of a body count! The couple that disappeared in the room near the girls... We could have seen them tortured!! I didn't like seeing Heather Matarazzo naked and dripping in blood though!!
98
Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (2007,  R)
Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon
This movie is genius in my opinion. It completely deconstructs the mind of a serial killer, and in a way sympathizes in a clever way as we follow the killer with a film crew, and see what he is really like. Clever and original. Love it!
99
Flight of the Living Dead: Outbreak on a Plane (Plane Dead) (2007,  Unrated)
Flight of the Living Dead: Outbreak on a Plane (Plane Dead)
Well, this movie definitely has comedy value! It was never going to win any horror awards, but it is quite fun to watch. It's completely unrealistic with just how many bullets are fired on the plane without decompression happening or one simply piercing the plane to the outside at all. Quite fun to watch though!
100
Azumi (2003,  Unrated)
Azumi
Bloody brilliant martial arts action movie. One of the best I have EVER seen, and if you think you could have fit any more action sequences into this movie then your nose must be bigger than Pinocchio's! Keeps you gripped from beginning to end with an amazing amount of gore and awe-inducing sequences. I cannot fault it!
101
I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer (2006,  R)
I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer
I was actually mildly impressed as I think it's better than the second installment in the trilogy. Good gore, and original. Not the best thing ever, but definitely worth a watch if you're a slasher fan!
102
Cronos (1994,  R)
Cronos
You can see the way the genius that is Pan's Labyrinth would come about in this great directorial debut of del Toro. This is like a more modern Nosferatu... It has so many under-currents like addiction, eternal youth, and love bringing you through becoming a full monster. Very clever and scary beautiful movie...
103
The Slumber Party Massacre (1982,  R)
The Slumber Party Massacre
This may be a generic slasher, but it was actually pretty good in my eyes. A bit of a classic. There's no real explanation for why the guy is picking off the girls, until the end when he's telling a girl "You know you want it..." with a big drill in his hand. Very phallic. It's almost as if as he kills them he is violating them, but the penetration is with an actual weapon. I just found the analogy interesting. Anyway, if you like classic horror then don't miss it!
104
Oldboy (2005,  R)
Oldboy
Wow! Wow! Wow! This is one of the best foreign movies I have ever seen. It's full of amazing shots, amazing acting, and amazing characters. The suspense is phenomenal as is the drama, and my God... is it worth it! This movie is also incredibly bleak but done with such compassion. Incest isn't a nice subject, but this tackles it with gusto that includes both innocence and violent angst... All I can say is watch it for yourself!

Resident Evil: Extinction (2007,  R)
Resident Evil: Extinction
What a complete load of old tripe!! Why do some horror movie franchises think that moving them to be set in a desert will make them any better? Milla looks beautiful, but this movie is the steaming turd of films, and they've left it open for a fourth... Please no!!
106
Wrong Turn 2: Dead End (2007,  Unrated)
Wrong Turn 2: Dead End
This is the daddy of all horror sequels! Even better than the first in my opinion. The body count is higher on both sides, the deaths are some amazing effects, and it has the ultimate original story-line. Bloody brilliant! And I mean BLOODY!!
107
Halloween (2007,  R)
Halloween
This is a great re-invention of Halloween. It was really great to see some more of Michael as a kid and trying to get your head around how he works. Has a really great cast and Rob Zombie has shown himself to be a great horror director once more! If you're a fan of the original and want to stay true I understand, but this is equally as brilliant and definitely worth a watch...
108
Catacombs (2008,  R)
Catacombs
It's been a while since I've actually willed a movie to please end, but I seriously did with this one! The only decent part of the film was the end after the monotony of the whole f**king thing!! I'd have killed all those bastards myself after what she went through! There is only so much running/chasing/screaming to fill a whole film you can have before you want to put your head through your TV set. The acting was good, and the plot could have been good, but that doesn't make up for a bad film! You want tunnels and darkness and gore? Watch The Descent or Creep. Don't put yourself through this bile of a movie...
109
Black Sheep (2006,  Unrated)
Black Sheep
This is a movie that is completely original and entertaining! Hilarious points to it, and great mix of characters and gore! There are times when it pays homage to movies like 'An American Werewolf in London' with the effects amongst other things, but bloody brilliant and a complete riot! If you haven't seen it yet then you're missing out! Love it!
110
Captivity (2007,  R)
Captivity
This movie has a BIIIIGGG problem... Elisha Cuthbert's character is not developed enough at all at the beginning, so when she is abducted you really couldn't give a crap about her... Then she is tortured in a few quite sickening demented ways just for kicks and you think the director is just a sick pervert... Then there is finally a bit more characterization, with another introduced and it becomes more human... The problem is for the first half you've been wanting to turn it off. What could have been a great film ended up as just 'OK'...
111
Sweeney Todd (2006,  Unrated)
Sweeney Todd
This was actually a very well done BBC drama. Nice and gory too! Although, Mrs Lovett's accent was extremely annoying Ray Winstone really stole the show as Mr. Todd. A really good portayal.
112
Chinjeolhan geumjassi (Lady Vengeance) (Sympathy for Lady Vengeance) (2005,  R)
Chinjeolhan geumjassi (Lady Vengeance) (Sympathy for Lady Vengeance)
A very interesting, but disjointed movie. I got lost near the beginning, but loved certain parts of it, especially when the main character was speaking to her daughter through the translator who she was about to get killed because he was the cause. Very clever. It was just too irritating at times which is a real shame, as it was impressive.
113
Bloodrayne (2006,  R)
Bloodrayne
I actually really enjoyed this movie. The Terminator chick can kick some ass!! There's some fab sequences and loving the story-line, but as Rayne realises... shit happens!! This isn't great, but hey, we love some good fun!
114
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007,  R)
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
I am so fricking pissed off!!! This movie could have been so much more than a sadistic "Oliver!" but to be fair... It still isn't. I understand the BBC version far better. This is just a bitter disappointment. Seriously.... Entertaining and good, but not as great as it should be. Amazing art direction, with the most irritating songs where everyone refers to each other's bloody names.
115
Planet Terror (Grindhouse Presents: Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror) (2007,  R)
Planet Terror (Grindhouse Presents: Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror)
This movie rocks harder than Led Zeppelin and Nirvana mixed, with more guts than 50 abbertoires. Rose McGowan totally rules as always, and this movie can totally take the mick out of itself. Humour, action, gore... All in abundance! Completely original! Check it...
116
Mr. Brooks (2007,  R)
Mr. Brooks
This really seems to be a career defining role for Costner. It's completely different to anything he's done before and BLOODY brilliant. Literally. I love it. All of the twists and turns with respectful characters makes this a pretty great film. Check the acting!
117
W Delta Z (The Killing Gene) (2007,  R)
W Delta Z (The Killing Gene)
Wow... Wasn't expecting that in a movie. Especially wasn't thinking a movie like this would make you think about love. Great acting from the whole cast, and a film that really pushes boundaries. Much more impressed than I thought I would be in every way.
118
Untraceable (2008,  R)
Untraceable
This movie is pretty sick in places, but then hey, more and more films are getting like that. The premise is pretty original, and it's done really well. Diane Lane totally steals the movie. Really good as long as you aren't squeamish.
119
All the Boys Love Mandy Lane (2006,  R)
All the Boys Love Mandy Lane
Oh yes they do... A twisted little slasher that is more impressive than you'd think. Love the madness of this movie and how you think it is set in stone. Me loves a good slasher and this one surprised me!
120
Halloween Night (2006,  Unrated)
Halloween Night
I actually thought this wasn't bad for a generic teen slasher! The acting was bad from some of the actors, but the make-up and killings were pretty good, if a little predictable sometimes! I loved the lesbian beating up the killer until she got skewered with a coat hanger! Worth it just for that I think! Plus, I love Rebekah Kochan after Eating Out!
121
Going to Pieces: The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film (2006,  Unrated)
Going to Pieces: The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film
This is a brilliant documentary movie all about horror movies, and the history of the slasher genre. Great insight from the greats like John Carpenter, and Wes Craven. And really interesting to find out about budgets, what killed the genre, and what resurrected it. Real shame that Texas Chainsaw Massacre wasn't given a nod to, but great stuff...
122
Saw V (2008,  R)
Saw V
The flitting back and forth between time-lines is what really irritated me in number IV, but this one is better and loving Julie Benz in it. Less confusing than the last one, and ties things up a bit better. Good but not great!
123
Terror Train (1980,  R)
Terror Train
How can people not love this? Now THIS is classic horror at it's best! With the best scream queen, Jamie Lee. Love the whole premise, and keeps you guessing a couple of times. Never knew David Copperfield was weirdly attractive either! A very nice surprise!
124
Happy Birthday to Me (1981,  R)
Happy Birthday to Me
This movie is like The Breakfast Club, but with people who need to be put on anti-psychotic medication... I love what must be a deliberate fault from the editor, because in the flashback replay of Virginia's accident with her mum they show the car going in wheels first, as well as roof first... Duh! Other than that this movie is trashy 80s horror-tastic... Love it! Some hilarious deaths, and a corny movie poster... The way it should be!
125
Return to the House on Haunted Hill (2002,  R)
Return to the House on Haunted Hill
This may be a load of drivel, but it is highly watchable drivel! The deaths were pretty bloody good, and I mean bloody! I didn't find that I cared that much about any of the characters really, as they didn't have enough dimensions. A couple of the ghosts looked really good too. Not a bad movie just to pass some time.
126
Zombie Strippers (2008,  R)
Zombie Strippers
You have to have a sense of humour, and some B movie intelligence to enjoy this film. Jenna Jameson as an undead stripper?! The guy who starts the infection is called Byrd Flough (Bird Flu)... It starts off with the acting SO bad! But after 20 minutes it gets better and better... The effects crew on this are phenomenal... Seriously any horror fanatic will bow down to the variety of deaths, and zombies getting more degraded... I say watch it if any of this appeals!
127
Doomsday (2008,  R)
Doomsday
This movie takes no prisoners... Even though the whole of Scotland is imprisoned within itself! If you worry about getting bored in a movie... Well, you don't have a chance to in this one... It is phenomenal... I can even let slide that while one faction ends up being cannibalistic punks the other have reverted to medieval times, because this is an action movie tour de force with a hell of a lot of guts (literally!) and well worth a watch!
128
The Ruins (2008,  R)
The Ruins
It's like Day of the Triffids meets Invasion of the Bodysnatchers meets the Aztecs... And not in a good way most of the time... The acting and effects are good, but it's bizarre, and although the tension is great at times it leaves you wanting more than some acidic ivy that feeds off humans! Original, but a bit ruined...
129
While She Was Out (2008,  R)
While She Was Out
I prefer Cellular to be honest! Kim Basinger is brilliant as this woman being pursued by evil youths, and Lukas Haas makes a scary bad boy, but a whole film of terror doesn't work in this instance...
130
[Rec] (2007,  R)
[Rec]
This movie just gets better and better... If you want a horror that could genuinely freak you out, and you don't mind it being world cinema then take a chance on this. It is filmed incredibly well, and blows Blair Witch & Cloverfield well out the water with hand-held freakiness! A couple of jump out your seat moments too, but I'll leave you to find them... Genius!
131
Isolation (2005,  Unrated)
Isolation
A bizarre little Irish ditty I never expected... If they had added more humour and called it Mad Cow, or Cow Slip, or Moo-Tated, then this could have been genuinely good. The acting wasn't bad at all, but this is the shittiest thing to come out of Ireland since Riverdance...
132
Pathology (2008,  R)
Pathology
This movie did keep me guessing, and made me a bit schizophrenic myself, as I wasn't quite sure where Milo's character was going as he got darker, and the other main actor was going right over the edge. At one point I was worried about a Fight Club ending, but actually the last half hour of the film, and the ending redeemed it no end! Just wish we could have got to know Alyssa's character a bit better!
133
Hatchet (2006,  R)
Hatchet
A horror movie with Freddy, Jason, and Candyman?! Loving it! And it actually pulls off some decent slasher times rather than the torture porn we get sometimes these days! Loved it! And I love Mercedes McNab too, so good to see her in a movie! Great horror fare!!
134
My Bloody Valentine 3-D (2009,  R)
My Bloody Valentine 3-D
This movie was genius in 3D! About as close to having thhe real Jensen next to me as I'll get! There were brilliant 3D moments, and it's thoroughly enjoyable! The ending was a bit pants, and if I hadn't have seen it in 3D then the rating would have been lower, but wicked!
135
Death Proof (Grindhouse Presents) (2007,  R)
Death Proof (Grindhouse Presents)
I love to see women give a man what he deserves! A woman scorned and all that... Especially after Stuntman Mike has committed such atrocities and ends up screaming like a girl! It's poetic... There are really drawn out parts, but I understand why after the Grindhouse movies had to split in two! Brilliant gore effects and fast stunts... Definitely edge of your seat stuff at times...
136
Bolt (2008,  PG)
Bolt
I watched this beautiful movie in 3D and wished I was closer to the screen, but this film still amazed me! Bolt may not be a robot, but he has me barking mad for him, and I want a hampster like Rhino! He's hilarious! Brilliant movie!
137
Shrooms (2008,  Unrated)
Shrooms
This was definitely nearly as much of a disappointment as I had heard in every review. There were slight moments where it was funny of scary, but they really were few and far between. It wasn't fluid, although, with the subject matter I wasn't expecting it to be that much... Another movie with just too much paranoia, and also... I predicted the ending at the campfire story-time... I'm just gonna go drop some shrooms and eat some noodles now...
138
Drag Me to Hell (2009,  PG-13)
Drag Me to Hell
This movie is bloody genius! I loved it! I don't think I have ever jumped so much watching a film! It is pure cheese in places, and quite gratuitous, but it completely works. You don't need to take it seriously, because it doesn't take itself seriously. The bitch fight between Christine, and the old woman is cinematic gold... Reminiscent of the fight in Death Becomes Her. This movie is a must-see! Just make sure you take a valium first...
139
The Condemned (2007,  R)
The Condemned
This may not be in quite the same league as "Battle Royale", but it's a similar vein of movie, and actually thoroughly surprised! I thought any movie with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin & Vinnie Jones was gonna be for complete meat-heads, but think I was proved wrong. It is well made, full of action, and gore, and even has some heart and soul in it. Bloody good! Literally...
140
The Cottage (2008,  Unrated)
The Cottage
This is genius viewing! Completely takes good slasher horror and mixes it with comedy. If you are just interested in one or the other then don't watch. It also 'pastiches' elements from classic horror movies we all know. It's bloody brilliant though! And I mean bloody! Also, as a Brit, it's hilarious to know that two of the characters got morphed into characters from TV dark drama-comedy Psychoville. I only know that because I watched this after watching that and it was obvious. Good old League of Gentlemen. Watch it!

Friday the 13th (2009,  R)
Friday the 13th
This movie had such amazing potential to be a great re-make, and there were strokes of absolute genius throughout... I just don't understand why the director thought that all that darkness would make a great movie. I wanna see what is going on when it comes to horror. Well, in any movie in fact, and you can't make out much in the beginning & end... What was good should have been great.
142
Låt den Rätte Komma In (Let the Right One in) (2008,  R)
Låt den Rätte Komma In (Let the Right One in)
Wow. This is a coming of age story you have never seen. This is a vampire movie you have never seen. It is a foreign film du force. Just unbelievably good with young actors that bring it to life. Poignant, pale, and abosolutely poetic. I can't praise this movie enough. You watching it is the only justice.
143
Tormented (2009,  R)
Tormented
One of the best Brit horrors I've seen in a while! The cast is hot, the deaths are bloody, and some parts are a bit comical. Like Marmite you'll either love it or hate it! It's Skins meets any teen slasher! If you killed yourself after being bullied at school, wouldn't you reek revenge on your attackers? I would. Enjoyably evil.
144
The Last House on the Left (2009,  R)
The Last House on the Left
Just out of principle I can't give this movie five stars. As I watched it the original came flooding back to me. This movie is not for the faint hearted at all. Anything that you would never want to happen to a young girl, a daughter, happens to Mari. And the revenge for the parents is quite sweet as a viewer. It hits every emotion it's aiming for within you. This is even more disturbing than the original because the acting is better. I'm sure people still walked out the movie theatres though.
145
Teeth (2007,  R)
Teeth
This movie is just so bloody wrong it's right! Definitely an original concept... Vagina Dentata... It's like having a built-in chastity belt! This movie is funny, spiteful, and genius! But as a guy, you will be reaching for your ging gang goolies... Watch it and giggle.
146
The Children (2008,  R)
The Children
Wow... Kids really can be scary... And this movie proves it. Village of the Damned and The Exorcist eat your heart out. Bit more the girls in The Shining. FREAKY!! SO well edited it's untrue. Makes me think twice about working for Disney again. It's ashame it's not explained why all this is happening, but I applaud this film, and thought it was sheer genius.
147
The Horsemen (2009,  R)
The Horsemen
I don't think this movie was at all original really... It has such a great cast, but after the second victim it's pretty obvious who the White Horseman is going to end up being. I did kind of enjoy it, but there really wasn't enough substance to it. Shame... Could have been much better.
148
Babysitter Wanted (2008,  R)
Babysitter Wanted
Um.... What?! This movie is trying to be The Omen meets Rosemary's Baby, but in the view of the parents & babysitter. It is sheer crap. As a Trekkie I was more happy seeing a Star Trek alumni than I was the rest of this movie... And Nana Visitor was in it for a few seconds at a time!! Good ideas that are badly executed really piss me off. The way in which it leads up to and after the Vicar's death is trying to be clever, but the way the rest of the movie is treated makes it all the more ridiculous. Shite.
149
Mum & Dad (2008,  Unrated)
Mum & Dad
I thought that this movie was really well done considering they had what is known as a micro-budget! To be fair, I think it's good anyway, and there hasn't been a brit-horror quite like this. Mum & Dad are disturbed, but I sometimes feel like I can relate to parts of mum (that's so wrong!)... It's sick but with very mild humour in places. The main character who is 'adopted' is given an emotional tour de force by the actress playing her. Clever & should be commended in what they did with so little.
150
Eden Lake (2008,  R)
Eden Lake
This movie is sick and unrelenting. As a viewer you don't really get any satisfaction in a way because the innocent get slaughtered while the sicko gets spared, and is completely unapologetic. That said, it is very well done, and maybe what is the most disturbing thing is how it really could happen. With the British youth yob culture we have, which is getting worse... Who is to say it couldn't? Scary.
151
Donkey Punch (2008,  R)
Donkey Punch
Some may call is generic, but for me this was a well-acted horror/thriller that went through all emotions. Misunderstandings, deep tendencies, circumstance, and survival all lead to a good mix of character tragedy. Loved it.
