Anne of Green Gables (1985,  Unrated)
Anne of Green Gables
A Canadian classic in film. It is a long film but worth the watch. Megan Follows is excellent as Anne. She gives a all star performance. So do Colleen Dewhurst and Richard Farnsworth as well. A great story of Anne who changes the lives of her family, friends and loved ones. The film is beautifully shot and and has a great cast of characters. One of those films that shows the past and history of Prince Edward Island and Canada. A great film.

Anne of Green Gables - The Sequel (1987,  G)
Anne of Green Gables - The Sequel
A great sequel to the original Anne of Green Gables film. The film takes place right after the original. Anne is older and we follow her life as a teacher away from her hone in Prince Edward Island. The film is beautifully shot and has a great cast of characters. Plus a great story. Megan Follows and Colleen Dewhurst still give great performances in this sequel. A Canadian film classic.

Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing Story (2000,  Unrated)
Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing Story
Not as good as the original or the sequel. But it was neat to see the story continue and move into WWI.

Men with Brooms (2002,  R)
Men with Brooms
Paul Gross and company bring us a decent comedy centered around curling. Now the story is entertaining and some of the characters are very interesting. You can tell this has the Canadian cinema feel and look to it. Paul Gross plays the lead character very well. They try and bring some coolness or excitment to the sport of curling during the movie. I have played and watched curling. It's not that exciting or cool. The film has a great soundtrack. You even get a cameo from the Tragically hip.

Bon Cop, Bad Cop (2006,  Unrated)
6
Passchendaele (2008,  Unrated)
7
Whale Music (1995,  Unrated)
Whale Music
This film was very odd. A story that I found slow in parts and not very interesting at times. More of a character film. I would not recommend to anyone looking for a good nights rent. But may appeal to those who enjoy character driven films.
8
H2O (H2O: The Last Prime Minister) (2004,  Unrated)
9
Trailer Park Boys: The Movie (2006,  R)
Trailer Park Boys: The Movie
A very funny movie. If you like the television show then you will like the movie. Just seems like a long episode. Look for cameo's by Hugh Dillon(ex Headstones singer, now has his own band and actor in TV/movies) and Gord Downie(from the Tragically Hip). The film is basically a heist film With Ricky, Julian and Bubbles trying to make a big score. The characters are crazy and fun. You might have to be a fan of the show though to enjoy the film. I liked it.

Kids in the Hall - Brain Candy (1996,  R)
Kids in the Hall - Brain Candy
Very funny if you like the Kids in the Hall humour! (Did you see. Did you see. The doctor and me.) (Cancer Boy-Ow, my marrow is low). I always get a great laugh from watching this film. But this may not be a film for all. I loved the television series when it was on. So this film was great for me as a fan. But of course I just ate a stubbie before I wrote this review.(You have to see the movie to know what the stubbie is) Overall I would recommend the film but then this may not be everyones type of movie if you don't enjoy Kids in the Hall humour.
13
The Arrow (1997,  Unrated)
14
Canadian Bacon (1995,  PG)
Canadian Bacon
As a Canadian I fine this move very funny. Michael Moore brings in a lot of the typical stereotypes that Canadians are deemed to have. Sure some are spot on and just over exaggerated. There are even some typical preceived American stereotypes in this as well. The story is basically that the American goverment are trying to start a war with Canada since they have no one else to fight since the Russians ended the cold war and they need to jump start the American economy again. You can tell this is set well before 9/11. This film has a great cast. John Candy, Alan Alda, Kevin Pollak, Rhea Perlman, Bill Nunn and many others are very funny in this. Overall this is just a silly funny movie to watch.

Rock & Rule (,  PG)
Rock & Rule
I remember watching this as a kid. I liked the animation and the story. Plus the music. At least what I remeber from it. I would have to watch it again to give it a more accurate rating.
16
Exotica (1994,  R)
Exotica
This was a strange film. Not a all star cast but they do a good job in their roles. You really don't understand the characters intent till the end of the movie.
17
Dance Me Outside (1994,  R)
18
Maurice Richard (The Rocket) (2007,  PG)
Maurice Richard (The Rocket)
A great hockey film. I'm not a Montreal Canadian fan but this is a must for hockey fans. A great film showing the struggles of a man and his family in Quebec trying to survive. Hockey was a second job to Maurice to feed his family. Shows the tough times of the NHL before helmets and very little pay in it. Also shows how the rich and poor are divided in this and how things change over time. Much more than a hockey film. A film about a great man and a Canadian hero.
19
The Wrong Guy (1997,  PG-13)
The Wrong Guy
A very funny movie! If you like Kids in the Hall then you will like this film. Dave Foley is very funny in this. Taken bits right from the fugitive it is almost a spoof. You have to love the cop who is after the killer but is so lazy and wasting time on bad leads. A favorite comedy of mine to watch. Well worth a watch.
20
Strange Brew (1983,  PG)
Strange Brew
Classic Canadian comedy. Sure it is kind of stupid but still a classic. Stars Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas as characters Bob and Doug McKenzie from the classic sketch show SCTV. These characters helped inspire Mike Myers and Dana Carvey's Wayne's World. The film has tons of laughs and odd characters. Sure a lot of this is a groaner to watch but I always liked it. So Take off Eh! You Hoser!

Down to the Dirt (2008,  Unrated)
Down to the Dirt
This is a Canadian film about two young Newfoundlanders angry at the world. This young man and girl fall in love and leave their small home and move to the city of St. John's. Everything is fine at first but they grow apart. The girl then moves to Halifax, NS and the young man follows shortly after to try and get her back. Of course his life is crashing around him because or drugs and alcohol. This is a very odd film at times. I could never seem to relate or like the young man. He was angry with life but they never really got into why he was. Not a bad ending to the film. But overall I found this to be a odd and at times boring movie.
