Scarface (1983, R)
Scarface in all its fame & popularity is still a very misunderstood film in my view. Loved by some critics and called mediocre by others. Some of the powers that be, fear this film. Scarface is a classic to be sure. It may be the greatest and truest portrait of the failure and destructivness of the capitalistic system, where drugs, guns and whatever else that provides money are king. A realistic, unforgiving and totally entertaining look at greed, power and the alure and falicy of the American Dream. One of the greatest movies in modern history in every aspect! The world is yours, take it! |
