Amazing movie, much more than I expected.

Theme 1 is Jackson of course. Still has the dance moves and innate musical talent as show in the rehearsals (especially the interactions with the backup band members). Probably didn't have the voice any more, but still definitely had the dance moves and rhythm.

Part 2 - About SHOW BUSINESS - The Director, Kenny Ortega, was a master and managing the talent and the production details. Stunts, pyrotechnics, dancers, musicians, stage show, etc. - all under guidance and a top quality production.

The most surprising thing is that Jackson looked his normal weird self, but yet not what you expected after the post-death media reports about his condition. Didn't look any more or less frail than the last 15 years or so. Definitely seemed up to the task for the concert series (at least the first X number of show of the 50 scheduled).

RIP.

Classic Tarentino. Dialogue and character development at its finest. Plot was entertaining, but ultimately irrelevant.

SPOILER - loved that they said FU to true history and killed Hitler and all the Nazis...

The screenplay and all its glorious violence...Hollywood's master back at it!

Good Michael Mann flick...action packed...little character development (good)...

This is an action movie about BANK ROBBERS and lives up to the billing...

The usual Mann thriller/action with over the top shootout scenes and acoustics to match...

Saw at the Orpheum Theatre in Madison, which gave it an extra historical twist.

Good movie...loved the setting...been to that part of the world...

Makes me LONG for the Euro lifestyle...

Good acting, good plot...non-Hollywood ending...

Good movie...great acting...definitely "dated" as a 60's movie when you see in now...

You could tell it was derived from a play with some of the over the top dialogue...

But overall a very good movie...

So many subtle jokes that were very forward looking and set the stage for the anti-Military Industrial complex revolt of the late 60's that Ike warned about...

"We can not have a mineshaft gap!"...classic

Fun movie to watch for those that have been to Paris...a really intimate stroll through the scenery...

Colors are rich...sound quality is good...

It was interesting that most of the short stories take place at night, or in the dawn...showing a less crowded, more intimate side of Paris...

Lovely...

Very good movie...Penn was amazing, as usual...

Well shot and paced...it was interesting to see the epilogue...so many of the characters went on to accomplish great things afterward...

Van Sant told this story in a very conventional way and got very conventional emotional reactions from his audience...that is quite a feat considering the controversial subject matter...well done...

Supremely well acted...Langella was great...Sheen was very underrated as well and should have gotten best-supporting nomination...

A testament to the film is that the outcome will well known, but they were still able to craft an exhilarating and suspenseful drama out of it...

Good, but not as good as I had hoped for...I liked that time-period aspect to it...but it wasn't very uplifting! (I say that as a true blue married-with-kids suburbanite though!)

Acting was good...just seemed to be missing the "it" that tied it all together and would have taken it to the next level...

Very good movie...good acting, especially the younger Briony actress...

Got to see yet another often unseen side of WWII with the consequences of the German invasion of France...those scenes of devastation in Dunkirk were mesmerizing...

The sex scene in the library was incredibly erotic without showing a single frame of nudity...hmm...

Strange movie, yet very good...

A topic not usually explored in Hollywood...fascism in Spain...

There is something special in seeing an old Hollywood movie that's about an EVEN OLDER Hollywood time...

Great movie...finally an original idea from Hollywood (well from England anyway...)

Not totally believable, and I don't think it is SUPPOSED to be totally believable...more of a fairy-tale...

But that is the whole POINT of the movie...

In the mean-time you get a good picture painted of an emerging country trying to dig itself out of the 3rd world slums, while still dealing with a societal caste system.

The danger points are subtly revealed to both the characters and the audience...

JT does a pretty decent acting job...not bad at all...

Too predictable of an ending to be rated any higher...

Interesting stylistic take on the era and the woman...

Being from the generation that appreciated the musical score (and from just having visited Versailles before watching this), I might have this film rated higher than others...

But, that not withstanding, I still thought it was good...and a change of pace from the usual drab-drawn-out pace of period pieces like this...

Funny...watched on a plane ride to Paris...

Funny...could have been funnier yet, but went for the "romantic comedy" audience for more box office sales...

Still...not bad though...

Very good...a strange character, but a really good job developing his character and the plot...

He was a smart kid, but didn't obey a very easy common sense rule in that you don't go against Mother Nature without consequences...sometimes fatal...

Decent movie...love Phillip Seymour Hoffman, but this was a pretty depressing role...

Just so-so...interesting time period piece (I've been to the Tower of London, so I had some personal interest)...

Not enough character development...

Natalie Portman was awful...

"I DRANK YOUR MILKSHAKE"...one of the greatest movie lines and scenes ever (in context...you need the two hour build up to appreciate the INTENSITY of that scene)...

Great movie...takes taboo subject, turns in on it's head and has fun with it...

Decent movie...a parable of the Phoenix rising from the ashes...

Pretty faithful to actual events from what I've read...

Should have just been titled: The Diana Ross Story

A little too long of a movie without an emphatic ending...bittersweet...

The scenes in the FAA control room were the most fascinating to me...

I kept saying during the movie that the guy playing the FAA director was doing a great job...turns out he was the REAL FAA guy from that day...he was the only "real life" character put into the cast... (maybe he's not an "actor" then?)

Some funny parts, but overall disappointing from this cast...
