High Noon
A good approach with show duration equals to story's length. The theme song is nice too. I'm furious at the people - how come they don't help Marshal Kane even there are only 4 villains?

Calamity Jane (1953,  G)

It is artistic in some ways. But the fatal flaw is that it lacks nice songs, let alone memorable ones. So 9 Oscars...... is it a joke?

A Hole in the Head (1959,  Unrated)
27
Never on Sunday (1960,  Unrated)

Papa's Delicate Condition (1963,  Unrated)

Julie Andrews's costume design is impressive. The story may sound a little silly, but it's colourful, joyful and light-hearted. I would adore it more if I were still a small kid.

One of Paul Newman's most enjoyable performances. Raindrops may keep falling on our heads, what we have to do is to enjoy our life right?

Lovers and Other Strangers (1970,  R)
38
Shaft (1971,  R)

The Way We Were
A romantic piece. I love the theme song.
41
The Towering Inferno (1974,  PG)
The Towering Inferno
A good disastrous movie with a good cast.
42
Nashville (1975,  R)
Nashville
The fact that there are too many characters makes it very loose in structure and confusing. Slow, boring and tediously long. What the hell is going on actually? Only a few seemingly implicit scenes and songs are worth a little praise. I want my 160 minutes back!
43
A Star is Born (1976,  R)
44
You Light up My Life (1977,  PG)
45
Thank God It's Friday (1978,  PG)
46
Norma Rae (1979,  PG)

Sally Field is always excellent in portraying women of substance. Her performance is mesmerizing! The scene she holds the cardboard is already well-deserved for the Oscar.
47
Fame (1980,  R)
48
Arthur (1981,  PG)
49
An Officer and a Gentleman (1982,  R)

What a great comeback at the end! Excellent performances from Melanie Griffith and Sigourney Weaver. A realistic illustration of office politics.

Dick Tracy (1990,  PG)
58
Beauty and the Beast (1991,  G)

The whole story is stuffed with sadness and grief. I bet everyone will be sympathetic to the poor Andrew. The theme song is brilliant!

62
Pocahontas (1995,  G)
63
Evita (1997,  PG)

I don't care the criticisms. 11 Academy Awards explain everything. This one got to be the greatest blockbuster in the 1990s.
65
The Prince of Egypt (1998,  PG)
66
Tarzan (1999,  G)
67
Monsters, Inc. (2001,  G)

I don't like rap music, but the plot worths a watch.
69
The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King (2003,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King
Probably the best in this trilogy!!! The battling scenes are awesome as usual. But the key to success is symbolism, including the winning, reunification and the seperation of the fellowship. Sméagol just deserves the ending.
70
The Motorcycle Diaries (Diarios de Motocicleta) (2004,  R)
71
Hustle & Flow (2005,  R)
72
An Inconvenient Truth (2006,  PG)
73
Once (2007,  R)
Once
Simple and light-hearted. The camera work is just as brilliant as the songs. The plot is fine also, at least not rustic. The relationship between the 2 protagonists reminds me of Before Sunset, with dialogues replaced by music. The ending is realistic. A model of music film. Even if you don't like this film, you should definitely listen to its soundtrack!
74
Slumdog Millionaire (2008,  R)
Slumdog Millionaire
I don't want to waste time on commenting the unique and flawless plot. Go and explore yourselves. I just want to say its editing and cinematography are superb as well. Please be the biggest Oscar winner for the year!
