Slumdog Millionaire (2008, R)
Finally I get to see it! I love watching this type of film, way after all the hype settles down. |

Hostel: Part II (2007, R)
Hostel 2 viewed more as a decent teen scary movie to me than a worthy sequel. With the intensity taken out of it, it was rather predictable and a lot less of an authentic feel than the first. |

Hostel (2006, R)
Of course the main interest in this film is how much can you stomach. In fairness a strong stomach is needed for the first viewing of this, it doesn't seem as bad on a second viewing. |

Turistas (Paradise Lost) (2006, R)
Known in the UK as 'Paradise Lost' I saw this in the cinema. 'The Beach' meets 'Hostel' is the way I would describe this film, the plot is built on backpackers in Rio and although it's not violent all the way through, the parts that are, are quite shockworthy, so this film is not for the faint hearted. |

The Backwoods (, Unrated)
The problem with putting people on a pedestal is that they have further to fall when they don't meet expectations. |

The Celestine Prophecy (2006, PG)
The best selling and internationally renowed book written by James Redfield has made a huge impact on followers ? No this film goes nowhere near the excellence of the book (yes, I am a follower) and often comes across corny. The insights themselves tend to blend into eachother a little too much, making them a little difficult at times to seperate if you?re not already familiar with them. |

City of Ghosts (2003, R)
There were some good elements to this film ? yet it didn?t quite work for me. Enjoyed Matt Dillan (and of course he Directed this film also), loved the not so typical choice of using Cambodia as the backdrop to the story and really enjoyed the music too. Pretty natural performances all around. For me the downfall lay not in the actual plot, but in the actual story of corruption ? I felt it was weak, confusing and slow moving at times, it was more of a working progress. |

The Beach (2000, R)
Yet another watch for this beautiful film, a backpackers paradise and a journey of discovery not only geographically, but also from within. |

Under Suspicion (2000, R)
A unique investigation story into two young murdered girls, this is an extremely powerful and controversial part for Gene Hackman, which for me has to be his best role to date. |

The Sound of Music (1965, G)
It?s been a while! Anyone who has visitied Austria can appreciate it?s beauty which is portrayed in the film. A very long film, which brings music, adventure, a partly true story and a political agenda. |

Casablanca (1943, Unrated)
Through the first half of this film, I couldn?t help wondering what the appeal really was and was beginning to think that it was a very overrated movie, the ending however, changed my whole opinion on the film and was really quite enjoyable. |
