Bad Education (La Mala educación)
I'd give this movie full marks if it hadn't left me with a little confusion. Especially just before the end credits.
This may be the first movie ever I have seen where homosexuality is not used for making the audience laugh.
This drama is fantastic, the script, the plot, the scenery, the costumes and the actors. A must see for open-minded viewers.

Oh what a GREAT movie!! This is SO beautiful. So much love, it feels to me that not every rapist does rape because he's evil. This story was real sad but so pure. And great shootings.
I also liked the silent film because to me it was meant to explain what Benigno's intentions were! Great imagery language.
Pedro Almodóvar seems so bright to me! What a man!
AN ABSOLUTE MUST-SEE!

Live Flesh (Carne trémula) (1998,  R)
Live Flesh (Carne trémula)
My usual rate for Almodóvar's movies are five stars but no full marks for this one. The story just didn't grip me at the throat and even though the sex scenes were made to shock the viewer, they had no effect on me. Still it was not a bad movie. But he has made better ones.

The Flower of My Secret (La Flor de mi secreto) (1995,  R)
The Flower of My Secret (La Flor de mi secreto)
The more Almodóvar movies I watch the worse the plots become, it seems. This one is another movie which I will forget soon.
The story is about a female Spanish writer who wants change in her life. I couldn't connect emotionally to this story. In a couple of weeks I will have forgotten the plot completely. Next!

Kika (1994,  Unrated)
Kika
Hardly an Almodóvar movie I would recommend to someone. There's a lot of sex but without emotions and it's these emotions and this drama which I want to see in his movies. It never shocked me and I will forget this movie very soon.

ˇÁtame! (Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!) (1990,  NC-17)
ˇÁtame! (Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!)
Another Almodóvar movie that is very much 80ies but this one is one of the better ones. It's very erotic too. I liked the evolution from fear into hate into love. Unbelievably good! Worth watching!

Law of Desire (La Ley del deseo) (1987,  NC-17)
Law of Desire (La Ley del deseo)
No, this is not a good movie. It didn't really succeed in causing me feeling emotional. It didn't look very professionally made either and caused me a lot of irritation.
Moreover this movie made me feel a bit uncomfortable since I'm not used to see two men making love in such an explicit way as shown in this movie.

Entre tinieblas (Dark Habits) (Dark Hideout) (1983,  Unrated)
Entre tinieblas (Dark Habits) (Dark Hideout)
Nuns writing romantic novels, nuns having a full-grown tiger as a pet, nuns wo take heroin daily, lesbian nuns... you see it all in this movie. But the style is very much eighties and not really well-made. I wouldn't recommend it because of the plot either.

Laberinto de pasiones (Labyrinth of Passion) (1982,  Unrated)
Laberinto de pasiones (Labyrinth of Passion)
Do Flixster users rate this movie 3.5 stars average? I don't believe it!
After watching this movie I came to the conclusion that Pedro Almodóvar must be one of the globe's worst directors/story writers. He has made several (rather tasteless) movies about homosexuality but this one is the worst by far. Almodóvar portraits gay men as hairy, ugly, unatractive men with high female voices and ugly large white knickers with an unhealthy portion of flamboyance, let's say the tasteless version of Freddie Mercury in his I want to break free video clip. No wonder heterosexuals do have prejudices against the gay if they are shown like this.
I went aggressive after seeing this movie and I deliberately missed the last thirty minutes. I am not the type of viewer who normally switches off a movie before the end but tonight I thought "To hell with this crap Almodóvar!". Thank goodness he made Hable con ella many years after this movie. That was when he received my respect.
Skip this crap! You are warned!
