Why Did I Get Married? (2007,  PG-13)
Why Did I Get Married?
Hubby loses fat wife to a man who loves her curves, and encourages to exercise and eat healthy to lover herself not just to lose weight.
2
Hairspray (1988,  PG)
Hairspray
Fat teen girl gets the hot boy and wows everyone. The wonderful campy original.

My favorite John Waters movie. I laugh every time I watch it. Funny, trashy, and very campy!

Hairspray (2007,  PG)
Hairspray
Like Chicago and Dreamgirls before it, the movie version of the musical Hairspray falls a little flat on screen. It is missing the energy of a live performance, and doesn't flow as well or as cohesively on the big screen. The original movie had a more in depth plot, and character arc.

It is a fun romp to watch, and the songs are catchy but you come away not really knowing or caring about the outcomes of the characters.

In their small roles, James Marsden and Michelle Pfeiffer did a great job of playing up their 2-D characters adding some of the camp that movie lacked (and would have benefited from).

A word of advice, watch the DVD with the subtitles on to catch the jokes in the lyrics of the songs.

Shag (1989,  PG)
5
Last Holiday (2006,  PG-13)
Last Holiday
I love Queen Latifah. This movie was a cute, sweet, little film made good by Latifah's personality. Definitely a flick you'd watch with a big plate of comfort food while wearing your pajamas.
6
Circle of Friends (1994,  PG-13)
Circle of Friends
Through it all, the big girl gets the guy!
7
Real Women Have Curves (2002,  PG-13)
Real Women Have Curves
This is the first time I saw America Ferrera and fell in love with her. I hoped that she would become a big star, and with the success of Ugly Betty it looks like she's on her way.
8
Phat Girlz (2006,  PG-13)
Phat Girlz
M'onique's heavy-handed message about accepting yourself despite your weight makes for a pleasant yet predictable movie.
9
In Her Shoes (2005,  PG-13)
