Very good movie, with fantastic animation, but what I really want to say here -to some people- is that Tim Burton didn't direct it. Dissapointed? Then read this: the director of The Giant Peach, Henry Selick, also directed The Nightmare Before Christmas, which means that one isn't a Tim Burton movie either. You had to know. Maybe that'll give you some more perspective.
The Sci-Fi part is absurdly hilarious. To me, the rest of the movie seemed just Kitano's excuse to make that ¿story? a film. Anyways, he manages to parody himself and the commercial cinema better than in Takeshis'. Not as in Zatoichi, of course.
I really love the music and the images but I can't give it a higher rating because it's just a long videoclip. A very good one, yeah, but I don't think it is that good artistically.
We all live in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine, yellow submarine... a must-see for psychodelia and Beatles fans. I love both of them, so I enjoy this one like Robert Downey Jr. would enjoy a free shot of heroin. Oh, that was unpolite.
Along with Braindead, my favourite Peter Jackson film. Brutal parody of The Muppet Show and the spectacle world. Weird, cheesy, disgusting and disturbingly hilarious. A masterpiece.
